Some language content are clearly not made by anyone who actually knows the language. The selection area of some options literally overlap with the continue button so you can't advance some lessons. At one point, the spell out a word lesson just didn't provide any letters to select for weeks and no one that works that this place even noticed. Not worth the money.
I don't understand why Forbes rated this app so highly. It gets way too advanced before it even teaches you all the basics. what's worse, it doesn't explain anything! doesn't explain what a word means or why it might change; no option to read more about it. I paid for the lifetime so no choice but to continue trying, but I do not recommend this app unless you are already at least intermediate. Sucks!

It said European Portuguese was available, but it isn't so I wasted my time downloading this. I would give it no stars if I could.
using the microphone it gets it wrong constantly no matter if you say it correctly
I wanted to learn American English but it won't let me it would only allow me write i know American English not learn🤬
In I speak option this app don't have Bangali but in I want to learn option this app have Bangli 😡
Update 2: Don't recommend it at all. I have learned more in the past month using the free Memrise app compared to what I learned in 1 year using paid Mondly. Go with Memrise, it is superior. Update 1: App's daily/weekly learning lessons are repetitive with no new learning content. Mondly's customer service is non-responsive. I contacted Mondly to remove Norwegian & Urdu from my list of learning languages & there is no action. For this reason, I don't recommend Mondly.

my husband wants to learn portuguese and the only option is Brazilian. Portuguese and Brazilian are different
I have been unable to log into my account for months after I paid for 12 months subscription, which expires in May 2026. Each time I try to reset the password, it says there is an error, but there's no other option to resolve the issue, and it has happened each time over months.
I hate this app with passion the rubbish app I have ever used

Very Bad, not understanding my voice
The pesky bugs are still alive and thriving! The speech to text recognition is very poor, they really need to work on recognising the speaking and pronunciation part, I find the app very frustrating to use - sometimes it can't even recognise " Yes" or "No". I have a good quality smartphone and always practice in a very quiet room but on many occasions the app does not recognise what I have pronounced CORRECTLY! I wish I had been more aware of this frustrating fault before subscribing! FIX IT !

Mondly is honestly not that helpful for me. I didn’t really like the app, and it didn’t work well for my learning. One main issue is that many languages are missing, so I couldn’t even try learning what I wanted, which was really disappointing. You can try it once if you want, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it.
It is very expensive
As others have said, the voice recognition is atrocious. Besides this the app is decent, but decent voice recognition would set it above others. Coming back nearly a year later to say the voice recognition hasn't improved a lick. Come on guys.
I am an eager and very capable language learner. I have studied Czech, Italian, and Swahili on Duolingo and Croatian on Pimsleur. A week ago I started Croatian on Mondly. All went well for 6 days as I completed the first 3 of 38 categories (6 lessons each so far). However, today in 3 of the 6 lessons in category 4, the app froze on a multiple choice screen and would not let me complete the lesson. I reported each such problem but don't expect any response. I am disheartened!
this app has very big problems with speaking exercises. sometimes it just doesn't understand which language we speak and switches to English, but I'm studying polish. Restarting the app helps, but I don't want to do it all the times. it happens on the 4th lesson all the time. and I don't understand why can't you add the "next lesson"button? why should I go and choose it manually all the time. You ask for money for a subscription, so please fix the app
saved words in the section revision don't have translation so I cannot learn new words (we can only listen to them in english). during lessons I hate when I have to type really long sentences or put the words in the order to make sentences. this process is too long and tiring. also when I have to choose from 3 options in a list, always the correct answer is the first answer. dialogues are to long because I have to choose from two options and there is no interaction between my& AI responses
This app looks slick and comprehensive on the surface but I don't think it's well structured to be a practical learning tool. There are some bugs too but reports go unanswered. Definitely there are better language apps out there and I have learnt way more on Duolingo and Busuu. I won't be renewing my Mondly subscription when it runs out.
