stopped working like a year ago, wouldn't let me log in, just tried reinstalling for the first time in months and I still can't type more than a letter in the login spaces let alone enter a password
The app glitchs. you have to uninstall and install again.
HSA doesn't allow the category Other like the website does! Dental benefits are not visible and I reported this over 1 year ago. When you are looking for information about medical service providers en Lumino the app crashes. Also I should be able to upload PDFs and not just photos when submitting a claim. I year and no response, the same bugs are still there. Terrible
to hard to submit a claim, asking questions that I couldn't answer, anything to make our life difficult, and making sure you don't have to reimburse any claim
not great at all. I try to get info during filling out a claim and it just closes (in less than 2 min away from the app)

if you can't let us print in the app let us screenshot. why disable the screenshot and have us hassle all the way to mysunlife.ca. immensely bad UX. So much hassle for people with dual insurances. Surely if it's available in the site the api for the app shouldn't be that much work

terrible. always keep kicking me off site. whether on wknd or at night at home. says it is sunlifes fault. we'll fix it...
horrible experience. I continuously get errors when trying to access my coverage card.
I do not use the app often, but when I do I have to always reset my password because it doesn't recognize it. But it does recognize it when I try to use it as the new password.

Worst app. Login functionally does not work a lot of times. Edit: April 2026. I'm unable to find my coverage card on the app. I searched everywhere. it's tooooo difficult to find, if it exists
app always crashes on launch. since I have had the app to manually submit a claim does not work. When looking up meds it shows coverage for my spouse but when I look for myself it says there was an error.

Every time I try and log into this app I get an error message of "Oops, something went wrong We're sorry. There was a problem on Sun Life's end. Try signing in again." I have to uninstall and reinstall every single time I want to log in.. Unacceptable. This app has ONE job.
I couldn't find the insurance card that the pharmacy wanted, so I had to find it on the website
The claim has been submitted twice, but they closed it twice in 10 days without any information or any questions. I can't see my claim "in progress" or "completed". And I should wait to speak with them by phone.
I constantly get logged out and have to force close the app to get back in. also, why do you make it impossible to find my digital benefits card. you guys are a joke.

Needs an update literally every time you open it. Trying to find our coverage card was almost impossible since they have added new pages and dropdown/popup menus. The drug lookup is good. Cant anything just be simple and straight-forward anymore?
It took almost 30 minutes to find my own account and plan number. it is an awful app format. And no way to save the Coverage card for easy access, which is the basic information, one expects.
probably the most useless app ive ever had on my phone. refuses to log in , despite having the correct credentials * the same ones that work on web) it tells me " invalid ID or password". furthermore YOU CANT FIND ANYTHING EVER! This company makes millions of dollars a year and has a terrible app... its shameful

Stress, stress and more stress.
The change to multi factor authentication means I need a cell phone to access on-line. I do not carry a cell phone. Unless Sun Life wants to pay for my cell phone this requirement should be dropped.
To upload electronic documents I had, I had to print and take photos. The other options were snail mail or fax. Buying a fax machine might have been the better option, in retrospect. I would only use this app if forced, which I was.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. The reliability of this app is non-existent. 8 out of 10 times I try to log in, I’m greeted with the exact same generic, useless error message: "Something happened from our side, try again after some time." It is incredibly frustrating when you’re trying to manage your RRSP or check your financial future, and the gatekeeper is a broken login screen. I shouldn’t have to "try again later" for three days straight just to see my own account.
I often cant upload receipts when I need to because techmical difficulties and if I dont do it right away, I'll forget or lose them.

Most of the time when I try to sign in I get a message saying there was an issue on Sunlife end. This means I usually end up the Sunlife website even on my phone. When the app does work, it is easy to navigate which is frustrating when I keep being unable to sign-in.
Not very user friendly. Never lets me use my fingerprint to sign in, and forcing people to leave reviews of providers every single time a claim is submitted is obnoxious.
why is my benefits card not the first thing i see when i log in? why is my benefits card not on the phone app at all?
Works 50 percent of the time. Half the time I get "We're sorry. There's a problem on Sun Life's end."
Incorrect tax statements are displayed and there is no way of contacting anyone to report or fix the errors.
