camera access is hit and miss. great when on the same WiFi, but what's the point of that? I need to see it when I'm not in the same room!
i don't understand these products, i bought a smart plug a few years ago that worked through "mydlink Home".... need it now so i pull it out only to learnt they decommissioned the app, created a new one and don't support the old products any more.... perfect working piece of equipment now useless because D-Link decides they want to turn a server off and can't be bothered supporting items they previously sold... no wonder the world is filling up with junk. not going to trust them again.

Who's idea was it to change the On/Off button to a thin outline that's barely visible whether it's on or off? Giving a 1 star review until that's changed. 🙄
Never works properly
The app works great on my iPad, horrible on my phone with Android 16
I'd been using this app for a series of leak sensors for years w/o issue. Caught some water under the sink once, and if my internet ever went out, I'd get a notification from the app that the sensors were disconnected, so I knew it was working. Fastforward to today at 1am and the alarm starts blaring. Open the app, I'm logged out. Log in, all my devices are offline. So I went around the house till I found my washing machine leaking. Have all the app power settings correct so idk why it did this.

Never buy this camera, buy any thirdclass chinese camera instead of this as it works fine, it even provides live streaming option, this cameras live streaming is not working since from 6 months, even their app is too lagy and worst, I have never seen a worst camera then this
this app sucks keeps say ing my email is invalid I use it everyday 10 times 😭
Unreliable.Cant hear sound just static. It alerts movement but not showing a screenshot i have been watching live and not showing movement of motion like should. I wish I could rate lower. I have an available model but can't use cloud feature or actually record.
cameras don't work on it
Everything made by dlink is unusable top to bottom. Cameras don't connect to a router if they're not within 2m of it, if they do they randomly disconnect and need power cycling to work again, the cloud is unbearably slow and 9 out of 10 recordings fail to upload to the cloud with no explanation. Absolutely unusable slop.

Software doesn't support its own products. DLink water sensor model is not supported it says. Garbage
1 start for the camera quality, hardware is good. Software is very slow, always lose the settings, cannot make playback, I used to have and NVR and did not work properly either. from the phone is a nightmare.
Not sure if it's the app or the cameta but it is super slow to access camera from the app, around 1 minute. And then to use PTZ controls, well that is another nightmare. I decided to sell my camera on eBay and buy an Arlo. * UPDATE 2026: I'd give -1 star if possible. This app is worse than before.
works when it feels like it. what I hate about this app is that you active the camera and if you wanna see the live recording you face a situation where if the app feels like working and opening the live screen it will otherwise you're out of luck. crazy to see such a poor app from a big company.

The app is just a sales platform. No helpful info, no settings. Just an app that tells you that the camera you bought is useless unless you pay hundreds of dollars more for services that are free with other camera vendors.

Subscribed My D-link Lite on the cloud service, two of my DCS-6501LH cameras can record full HD (1080p) to the cloud, but my DCS-6501LH 2K camera only can record HD (720p) on the cloud, totally cannot record 2k on the cloud service, worst than the full HD camera. Even though I already selected the 2K camera in 1296p, but still cannot record 2K in the cloud service.
I have to say... I like this app and the devices I have for the money. But I'm SO SICK of the notifications turning my screen on, I'm considering buying all new stuff. This app does not comply with the system settings put in place for apps exactly like this one.

No longer work with DCS 935L. Does not connect!
I have had the dlink camera and app since December 2025 and was fine up until this weekend (23.01.2026), and now I can not view any video. The camera can still see, as when I go to edit the motion sensor grid, the image and time stamp is current, but the camera just shows a black screen when I try to view live, cloud records and so card recordings. Absolutely appalling from dlink, we've had the camera less than two months, and it's not fit for purpose anymore, just a paperweight now, essentially
slow to load .. by the time it finishing loading the theft would have gottan away
Bought a D-Link DIR-868L, brand new from Walmart only to find out that D-Link no longer supports the model. So is a worthless paperweight. Shame on Walmart for selling obsolete products and shame on D-Link for making it obsolete in the 1st place.
it's not an app both app and product is a garbage, app and camera will notify you once everything stolen, very waste company and their products.
needs to allow Home Assistant and other open source tools to fully control it locally without need to reach cloud
Rubbish, the menus are to far to the top and bottom of the screen what a fail!!!!!!!! I can't set anything up
1) the email alerts stopped working 2) after furmware update many features removed.. such as wifi point no longer available. 3) the new interface is not very good on slow connections. the camera does not move position properly.

recently this app always need to uninstall and install again and agsin when want to open this app. so troublesome.
The app is far from intuitive to set up, especially for a novice. In subsequent use lethargic and slow to boot is a polite description. It has made two stars because the picture quality is good and storage options decent value.
App hangs up if switching windows on Android. I then have to stop all apps and restart.
D-Link developers named their main alert channel "Unify" behind the scenes-meaning it unifies all camera motion and sound alerts into one stream. Instead of renaming that label to something user-friendly like "Motion Alerts" or "All Notifications," they lazily left their internal code name visible on the menu. Wake up developers and ensure user friendly words that normal people understand, not developers. 🙄
video is good but not working when connecting to the camera when opening the app it sends alerts but doesn't pull up the video
The latest app update makes it impossible to reset the alarm from the app. It can only be done at the main unit. Although notifications are allowed, leak detected notifications are not coming through. This makes the devices highly unreliable since notifications cannot be seen when you are away from home, only when the alarm is going off and you hear it.
SD card storage 60GB but only recorded a few minutes of activity
the cameras are great when they work but they won't connect to the app consistently. you'll get an alert that says motion was detected and then spend 20 minutes trying to get the app to connect to the camera and it won't connect. that's pretty pointless. I should also mention that you can be sitting in the same room with the camera and connected to the exact same Wi-Fi and the app still will not communicate with the camera
