Not helpful at all! Newly created account was locked out for unexplained suspicions. Told to make another, same thing happened. Same thing also happened to my partner! We just wanted to use a map for directions while visiting SK. Download KakaoMap, everyone. Smoother install and use. They also have cute cherry blossom alerts during blooming season.

Naver told me to just create a new one. Tried but then I never got the text to verify my number. Tried on my phone through wifi, cell data, on the dekstop, with and without a VPN. Nothing worked. Its unfortunate that everything pretty much gets booked through this app because foreigners can't make accounts.
Can't change username, can't hide username, cant make a nickname, can't make a new account with the same phone number which oh, just so happens to be required in the account creation that doesn't even work most of the time on a good day in the first place.
I had a very bad experience with NAVER. My account was suspended immediately after I created it, without any clear reason or explanation. I tried contacting the customer support, but my issue is still not resolved. Now I’m unable to access my account and cannot delete my personal information like email, passport details, and phone number. This feels unsafe and disappointing. The app also lacks proper English support, making communication difficult.
I honestly tried to use it, but it rejects my ARC, it rejects my bank account, it rejects my card - I am surprised this level of incompetence is allowed to exist.
I signed up while waiting for my flight to Korea. They banned me immediately. I assumed it was an honest mistake on their part. I found a form to contact the help desk. Phew! Relief! Surely humans will help me. Nope, they accused me of identity theft after I sent them my passport information. What's the point of this if you just accuse me of crimes? I tried to sign up with a new account and mobile verification never came. Would try again, but I am afraid they'll accuse me of kidnapping next.

this is the WORST app I've EVER used. I made 2 accounts which were suspended due to "abuse suspicious location". I'm not even in a suspicious location? i keyed in all my appropriate details and yet was suspended once I tried logging in. I made another account using VPN, I had to go through the login page over and over again, I thought I must've keyed in my password wrongly so I used BOTH my recovery email address and phone number to get my password back. NONE of them sent me a message...
This app should be removed from the App Store. Its authentication process is truly nonsensical and extremely frustrating for anyone living outside Korea.
It's rating are justifying why this app is worst. First - you can't change language for that you have to create a account and you will get torture. second - after making an account you still can't completely change the language in English. Google maps is the best.

strange how this app suspended me immediately after creating an account. log in from suspicious ip address? prevent fraud? grab never gave me that kind of hassle. why let users create a new account if you are just going to kick them out at first login?
almost impossible for anyone who isn't korean to use, despite it supposedly being allowed. i had an account, key word HAD, and to even get it up and running i had to SEND THEM MY GOVERNMENT ID. they approved it, then arbitrarily banned my account. i've tried to get support at least five times, i've tried to make new accounts, all to no avail. it reeks of xenophobia

Made an account and it immediately got suspended before I could even log jn for because my ID was supposedly "mass generated"? I tried everything I could to rectify it and I still get notifications to my email that someone (me) tried to log in. I don't want to make another account because if that gets instantly suspended as well I'll be beyond annoyed. On top of that I cannot change the language because I can't sign in to access the language settings and as I do not know Korean I can't use it.

trash app. I'm a foreigner who lives in Busan. no proper app service and not user-friendly for non Korean speakers. This app gives me a ban for no reason.
The app is rejecting my sign in again & again....such a worst experience....I'm not the only one experiencing this...even my friends also facing the same issue....the app has to clear this type of issues asap..
I successfully signed up, but I couldn’t log in minutes later. It kept saying my ID or password was wrong, even though they were correct. When I logged in through the email link, my account was already suspended due to a “suspicious or abnormal location.” This has happened to me twice, even after using a new phone number, email, and ID. I tried account recovery, but identity confirmation didn’t work and mobile verification was blocked due to a “suspicious network" Very frustrating experience.

Terrible experience! Naver is racist against foreigners by instantly baning your account for no reason other then your area being "Suspicious" Even if you go through the effort of contacting customer support and giving them all your information they will not help you and keep your account banned for good.
The app doesn't support English, and the system arbitrarily bans accounts.
terrible app for foreigners. suspends accounts after less than 24hrs of being created with bookings attached to them so I could not go attend my booked events. absolutely ruins plans. shocking!!! naver needs to allow people to unsuspens accounts as there was no reason to suspend it in the first place. absolutely terrible platform
This has to be the worst app out there. For all those saying it is a foreign app and therefore your experience on it as an English speaker isn't justified is actually insane. I've used tons of foreign apps while traveling and I've never had one so unintuitive that seems to purposely hurt your experience like this one before. I can't wait for the day Google maps to include korea so this app can be forever be deleted off my phone.

The app wouldn't even start without enabling notifications, lock screen and all bunch of other stuff. No english, but it supposed to be the main map app in Korea.

I just downloaded the app to read my favorite novel, but whenever I try to create an account, it keeps giving me "Account Suspended due to suspicious location" error. I can't read the novel without having an account, so both the app and the website are completely useless to me. Please fix this error quickly!
naver is racist. they banned me for no reason after creating account and verified phone number. and I forced to send them my personal information and passport(all information only in Korean and its hard to find). And after two week they sent me letter with no reply option that I used "unsafe network" and they never unblock my account. really? for what? I can't use my number to register again and they collected my personal data! disgusting..
I CANT RECEIVED MY VERIFICATION CODE AND I HAVE SENT EMAIL TO NAVER THEY DIDN'T RECEIVED MY EMAIL EITHER....
