If you park incorrectly, the penalties are disproportionately high: €1 to rent the bike, but €20 if you park it wrong - it feels like a trap... I strongly recommend double-checking the parking rules before ending your ride. The app desperately needs much clearer guidance on where and how to park, so users don't end up paying absurd fees and get entrapped.

They charge you a fee for ending a rental “outside the parking zone,” but the app doesn’t clearly show the parking zones on the map. Instead, it only shows small dots that are supposed to represent parking areas, which is extremely unclear. a I wouldn’t recommend this app or service to anyone. You can easily end up paying a lot of money for a very short ride. This is a badly designed, confusing product - and customers are the ones paying for the designers’ and developers’ mistakes.

In Zagreb when there is an event it is unusable. Can't reserve, can't scan, nothing. It is an example of how to NOT create an app. But they have a monopoly and they don't care. Classic story, just give them the money .

I used it happily multiple times until they charged me 141pln for nothing, I tried to call them and solve with with multiple emails and they threatened me with lawyers. very bad service.

This app makes money out of creating fake fees. It does not show your location correctly and then claims there are fees to pay. In general the app is very slow and fails to work properly most of the time.

Impossible to register any type of payment, both google pay and credit card take 1 euro only to write "something went wrong". Update: a year has passed, I have a different phone and a different bank (also Spanish). It still doesn't work.
Nie działa prawidłowo. Zwykła podróż kosztowała mnie 16 złotych zamiast 4, ze względu na techniczny problem aplikacji albo rowera. Nie zmogłem odblokować go po pause. Nie zmogłem zwrócić go.

Soll 20eur zahlen, weil ich das Fahrrad angeblich in einer "nicht parken zone" abgestellt habe. bin extra zurück gegangen, weil ich es spezifisch zwischen den weißen Markierungen auf dem Boden abgestellt habe, aber es war schon wieder ausgeliehen. wie soll man beweisen, dass es nicht so war? ist jetzt zum zweiten Mal passiert und Kontakt zum Kundenservice ist nicht möglich, mega enttäuscht

What a silly app. here I am visiting Köln from the U.S. So I want to sign up for the app. It asked my phone number to send me a PIN. But guess what? It doesn't send any messages. I give it a VOIP number from the States. No message there. Even though I'm on good bandwidth. I got nothing blocking it. nothing that would cite it as spam. But still, nothing.
Be careful of the trap to be charged an extra 20 euro for the parking. It was a really bad experience.
Active BSAG subscription, but the associated Nextbike benefits cannot be activated. Support has been aware of the issue for over a week and keeps asking me to wait without providing a solution or an estimated resolution time. Very disappointing experience.

After renting a bike, why show other bikes on the map with the same bike icon? As a tourist, I thought these were valid drop-off points. I parked where 3 other bikes were, got a €20 fine, and they refused a refund. If the app made this clear, I’d have used a proper station. Misleading design.
Few hours of waiting for the signup sms code. Very nice and practical. Tried with a different phone number but now it complains that + is not a number yet I have to put the calling code and it autochanges 00 to +. Great job, guys.
The app sometimes wrongfully decides you're out of the parking area and charges you 20€ that are very hard to recover from the support. See Amazon's customer-centric approach? This is the opposite

They will close your ride and charge you a service fee without warning. Then support won't even read your email and claim terms & services.

Very disappointed with this service and the support response. We tried to return the bicycles to the official location shown in the app, but the exact spot could not be found. We left them at a proper bicycle parking area with rental/parking signs, only about 50 meters away from the marked location. Despite explaining everything honestly, support showed no understanding and refused any refund. The app’s return locations clearly need improvement.

Avoid this app at all cost! The GPS does not work properly and they make multiple charges. The bike timer keeps running for days and they charge excessive fees. Even after contacting customer service, they told me that no refund would be issued. The good reviews are bought
We have used Next bike for many years in Paphos, Cyprus but unfortunately the bikes are now old and most of them are in really poor condition. Prices have increased again for 2026 despite any investment in the bikes.
Never use this app if you're in a myradl zone. There's nowhere to park them and the app won't tell you until after you've parked and left, then they hit you with a €20 fine multiple times per day calling it "service fee". Premium Uber rides are less costly than these bike rides.
Very limited bike parking space. When I use it, I have to walk the same distance on foot as if I just walked from a different place.

Sad. Bad Experience, but the Idea would be sooo good. 1. The Spots where one should return the bikes ("P") basically never show in the App. 2. In case they do show, the GPS is soo far off, that it always shows that I am next to this spot and never on it -> Constant fear of having to pay 20$ fee 3. Clustered Bikes can't be "unclustered" in the App, to reveal what kind of bikes there are. E.g. I only want to use non-ebikes. I can't see this in the App, unless I physically go there and check..

Very disappointing experience with . I was charged in a foreign currency, and the pause function failed multiple times without clear notification. After parking the bikes in what appeared to be a valid public parking area, the rides ended automatically, so I assumed everything was fine. Later, I was suddenly charged around €500 for “parking outside the allowed area,” despite receiving no warning or restriction in the app. The system feels unfair and misleading to customers.
The app is charging me a parking fee two days in a row despite leaving the bike IN the designated area. Don't download it now and don't use it - they have a bug in the code. I was super pleased with their offers and even have a subscription plan.

couldn't verify phone number, as tourist is really annoying. And also the app should be for whole Europe, i have used it in Maribor and other cities. I have available currency on the app but here in Zagreb it won't work you must create new account and lose all available currency from before. i would rate it -10 if possible.
There are 10 bikes and nothing wrong with my account. Always pay. And can't open any bikes. I lost my appointment because I depending and trusted your service. I can't describe my disappointment.
