absolutely awful app and moderaters. they will suspend your account for posting pictures. worthless I would give zero stars if possible.
I signed up for an account, and then a few days later the account got suspended. I contacted them and they wanted a copy of my driver's license. No way was I going to send that for them to use to datamine and sell my information. plus with all the security breaches happening. this app takes itself way too serious and wants too much sensitive user information. stay away from them at all costs

The ads are out of control
disrespectful people on the app. and when you disagree with them they suspend you. They dont suspend people that bully others. They suspend people who are the victims!!! Customer service is quickish to respond but don't really help/do anything. Upon further review, it's not a safe app. You're forced to use your real name and location. There's crazy people out there and, unlike reddit/insta/etc., these people live in your neighborhood. I've had threats made and nobody cares. More to write but no room. Uninstall

AVOID THIS WEBSITE. Don't sign up unless you want the worst spam emails that you can stop even if you deactivate your account. Believe me, I've tried many times to unsubscribe in settings. And I see many others complaining as well. I submitted my request. We'll see what happens.
Significantly outdated.
I've been a member for 10 yrs & today my account was suspended as my "name" sounds phony. However over the past few months there are Nextdoor monitors that have flagged my posts even when they were in community guidelines but due to it not aligning with their agenda and their personal point of view my posts were hidden & today someone went as far as to suspend my account indefinitely but in order to have it restored I have to send them a passport or driver's license proof of identity ILLEGAL
to much complaining about nothing.
My account got suspended and called a business account because my name was, briefly, incorrect. And despite fixing it myself in the app, which was a struggle because of how many steps and verifications you need to go through for that, I am now forced to give my information to a 'representative' through email and pray they fix my account. All I wanted to do was see what was happening in my neighborhood and sell a popcorn machine. I can apparently do neither.
There doesn't seem to be any way to disable video ads from playing (albeit muted). They are very distracting and I find myself compulsively tapping the pause button on every one of them. The ads are repetitive and appear every 3-4 posts. The local information has been helpful, but I'd rather have an option to pay a few bucks a year to do away with the ads. Time to bail and delete the app. Response to your response: You did not resolve anything. Video autoplay in your app cannot be disabled.

Nirav Tolia! I do LOVE Animals (Vegan), but today's Nextdoor looks more like Animal Adoption Site than Nextdoor that was created in the 1st place. It looked like SITE was created to somehow compete with Craigslist, but it's ALL GONE NOW, nothing else happens besides Paid Company Ads and Animal Rescue/Adoption ads. PLEASE CHANGE NEXTDOOR TO NAME THAT REALLY SHOWS WHAT THIS SITE IS ALL ABOUT TODAY! That's all!
This is so infuriating! I was keying in a rather lengthy time consuming post. A PSA in fact. When I needed to access the internet briefly when I was almost finished. So I switched over to the internet and came back to NEXTDOOR APP and my post had vaporized 💨…GONE!…presumably into the Ozone. With apparently NO WAY to retrieve it! Anyone with any insight into my dilemma?
I bought a used phone, and when I try to install the Nextdoor app, it keeps taking me to someone else's account instead of letting me sign in to my own. It won't allow me to access my account at all. What a waste of time with this app!
For some reason, unknown to me, you will not let me back onto this Next Door site. No explanation. I have been a user for years with no problems, and all of a sudden, zilch. Can you please explain your actions towards me. I have harmed no one, stole from no one, or lied to anyone.
they deactivated my account for no reason
This app has become unreliable in how it shows data. It does not show the closest posts if you filter it that way. In fact, the only filter that 'works' is the for you page and every 4th post is a sponsored advertisement. This used to be my go to for communicating with everyone in my neighborhood and sometimes surrounding neighborhoods. I don't need to see posts from areas/cities that are 10 miles away (15-20 minute drive). It has changed from something usable to useless.
If X and Facebook had a baby, it would be Nextdoor. The moderators are a bunch of grumpy elderly people who have nothing better to do but delete people's posts and it's just a bunch of people complaining about their neighbor's choice of paint for the bedroom they can't see but they saw the can and can't believe they picked that color.
I've used this app for 6-7 yrs. It's gone from a place to connect w/neighbors and see what's happening around me to one that's dominated by ads. Despite "turning off" ads, they reappear every time I reopen the app. I can't change my feed preferences. Posts seem to appear in random order. I want control over what I see and how it's sorted. I'm close to deleting the app again because I'm not seeing neighborhood updates in a timely way. Reply to developer: Ads are every 4th post. Reduce that.
I posted one time saying thank you to my neighbors and got suspended for it.
Where to begin with this app? Turning off email notifications doesn't work, I constantly get bombarded with them. Then there's the ads. Every other post is an ad, they even get shoved on users' posts which is VERY ANNOYING. But the absolute worst thing is the favortism by the moderators of the site. I kept having my photos flagged for 'spam' while other users would post every day. On top of that the mods would do nothing out users' terrible behavior. Stay away from this app. I'm never returning
not bad for a new app
Trying to create an account and it keeps wanting me to verify but then says there's a problem. Managed to get it working with a different email address and was immediately banned. Doesn't seem to work at all.
