We pay yearly for our unlimited subscription and are charged to our credit card and Nixplay can't help us. So we paid 60 bucks for no help and our plan...on THIS app saying we have basic. Kinda feeling slimey and scammy.
After the last update I can't see the failed uploads. I keep on clicking the red circle but it DOES NOT open to show the files. Also I think that $30/year is a little overpriced for its features.

I know for a fact the API and features I used did not cost them a dime because I do the exact same thing for a diy photo display device. I'm all for charging subscriptions for features and services that cost Nixplay money but not this
Nixplay used to be a good product and app but they've essentially made it useless without paying for annual subscriptions. I have a photo frame from a competitor that syncs easily with Google photos for free. Not Nixplay anymore. Bait and switch. Avoid. I'm literally throwing mine away. We got a lot of good years of use out of it but they've bricked it with these policy changes.
App makes it very difficult to manually add photos in the Basic subscription level. It is intentionally difficult to push people into the paid levels. Very sleazy.
Disappointed that the free storage was greatly reduced after we got our frame.
Good hardware, but the app and company practices are an absolute dumpster fire. I bought this frame because Google Photos syncing was included, and now it’s locked behind a subscription paywall. Classic bait-and-switch. Removing features after purchase to push recurring fees is incredibly anti-consumer, especially when competing frames still include these features without extra cost. Hard to recommend despite the decent hardware.

this new update is not working properly! Try to copy or move photos to another album & won't let me select it! I can only create an album. Did that but still can't move/copy to the new one either! Please fix this!!! Once album is full I have to create & select a new share one.
I used this app for years. then, one day, my app got downgraded, and now I am not able to upload new pictures to my frame and if the pictures that are on there have been locked.
Originally bought Nixplay because of the storage limits. Since then digital storage costs have gone down but Nixplay have cut the storage limits in an effort to squeeze you onto higher paid plans. They have effectively reneged on the product I originally bought. Would not recommend.
I had to use customer service to transfer a frame of my mother's to her own account. i spoke with a Lou through email, and she was great! however, I am not happy with Nixplay (hence the one star rating) that you now have to basically buy a plan to hold photos on your frame....500 mb of free photos is VERY minimal & disappointing, especially if you want more than one album on your frame. I just won't be enjoying my Nixplay frame like I used to and not sure how much I'll even use it anymore. 😔
Nixplay was fine and the frame is fine, but when this frame was purchased, it was unlimited photos and there was no cost. NOW they are limiting your photos and if you want to have more, you have to pay a yearly subscription. Talk about false advertising and bait and switch!! You can't change the rules in the middle of the game!!
The help centre is unavailable. The instructions are simplistic. I've had a Nix frame before using an SD card and this seems unbelievable that I can't easily add photos without a subscription.
I bought 4 of these stupid frames so I could help family stay connected. the app is slow and clunky and only lets you upload pictures directly from that certain device. its extremely difficult to add videos to the frames in the first place then you pulled the rug out and require a subscription to use google photos. I will never use your stupid service again. I regret the purchases and won't reccomend your frames to anyone else.
Updated 3/11/25. Do not buy their frames or anything from this company after buying a frame they keep changing their storage policy and reducing capacity. When we purchased the frame the number 1 reason was for their storage limits were very high. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Cannot upload photos without having to keep logging out clear the cache and then log back in to get photos to upload
The subscription is expensive and confusing to use. Half the time uploads don't work. I'm sure when my kids gifted me the frame they didn't realize it was going to cost me every year. A real iffy money grab IMHO.
Love the Frame. Hate the App. It's never responsive. Always crashes. Takes forever to upload and don't like the fact that Albums have a 2000 photo limit. I shouldn't have to pay this much for some that only work 1/4 of the time.
Was fine before the bait and switch. expensive frame that included the uploads and now they switched to a limited subscription format....after we already had purchased the product and used it on the free format. there are much better options that this for this price.
poor upload speed, cancel button does not work so photos waiting to sync never upload and can never be cleared. super glitchy overall. not impressed considering frame cost and additional costs to upload photos. I would not recommend purchasing any part of this product.
New subscription fees ruined a good product. Do not purchase a frame unless the subscription fees are removed.
Come on, fix the app. every time I try to use it to view an album it just sits in a loading screen without loading the photos. for the cost of this device, it's terrible to use.
Changing my review from 5 stars to one star. Nixplay made it a subscription for the previously free cloud features on a frame I already owned. This a terrible business model. Android app is laggy and about useless now. I was going to get one of these for my mom but now I'll explore a different company.
I loved this frame, friends could add photos from all over the country. until they changed their business model. now its nothing more than a cash-grab. Ive unistalled the app and wiped my frame. what a waste.
I want a rep to speak to me without having to pay for it, you are not only game in town, will return my newly purchased frame.
The Android app is terrible. I can no longer edit pictures when uploading them, but that's OK, because I can't upload anything from my phone anyway. It is broken. This is the second time since December the app has been broken by botched updates. I am on a Pixel 9, so I would think this phone would be tested, but it isn't. The real kicker is that the app's feedback form uses white text on a light gray background so I can't read what I wrote. App does not respect phone UI colors (dark theme).
Frame without paid plan is useless brick.
picture frames have low storage and then make you pay for more storage, no sd slot. many others are now better, better internal storage, free and a sd slot. feel I bought the wrong one.

loved this until today's "update". Now I can no longer see the photos I have on my frame in the app. Totally useless poc. update - after messing with this "update" I have to say it is even worse than I first thought. I can do NOTHING now to manage my frame. NOTHING. And I just paid for Plus. what a joke. I have told many friends to buy this frame - now I will have to apologize to them for this poc. And it WAS so good. Update 1/26 Unable to load video taken with Samsung phone
App is terrible. Doesn't give many choices to upload from (like Google photos, Samsung photos, Dropbox). You cant rearrange order of photos once uploaded. Video uploads are hit and miss. Once photos are uploaded you can no longer edit. The Samsung TV share is a pipe-dream since Samsung says there are no apps from Nixplay to download. Many, many issues and since I paid for the Plus program to have access to these features, it would be expected that the app would deliver.
Used to be good, but the new subscription model is unreasonable.
Beware the limits of their paid subscriptions. I learned after I signed up and paid for my first year that they have a max of 2,000 photos in a Lite subscription album. They don't mention this anywhere on their site or in their app. Very disappointing.
I pay Google for picture storage .... now Nixplay wants me to pay them to see those pictures. No thanks.

Very disappointed with this service. We purchased two expensive frames to share photos with distant family members and now there is virtually no storage without upgrading to plans that were never involved in the initial purchase..this is an extremely poor business model to discover you cannot sustain your business without charging your paying customers more each year.
Latest update literally made the app unusable. Thanks for making me regret my purchase.
Started charging for storage, was fine when it was free.
Unfortunately Nixplay failed their original business plan. Now, with the new model, even if I want to buy a 2nd Frame, there's no point in it, as I must take a subscription to be able to share a 2nd frame. I understand that hosting photos costs money, but if google photos also cost you, it means you fail your technical design. And about the apps... it's super annoying that you can't see a photo in full screen mode before selecting it ( either for adding or deleting).

The help center or whatever you want to call it is garbage
classic thief's play. wont let you connect basic things unless you pay th em a subscription. can do better and let people make basic connections to already existing albums, but i guess they want to squeeze every dollar out of you
Scam company. Bait and switch existing customers into buying subscription for features that were originally no cost. Do not support this behavior.
changed their subscription model this year, keep far away. I was able to pay for a subscription for a photo frame and let all of my family upload. Now each family member has a limit and they each need to subscribe. Nixplay changed this after the fact and we are not going to purchase 20+ subscriptions. Keep far away from this greedy lying company
