My account was banned twice over words used in my poetry and self-expression. Instead of flagging the issue, the app bans accounts without clear explanation. It feels like authentic users looking for serious connections are punished while there’s little support or proper appeal access for African users. Very disappointing and pathetic .

This is the most predatory dating app I've ever seen, designed to keep people paying forever. The match questions are strange, thinly-veiled surveys and it doesn't care what answers matter to you. You can pick from a silly amount of personal identifiers, but there's no way to filter by orientation so you aren't, for example, a sexual person matched with asexual people. It makes you write a message to like someone's profile, but they will never see it unless they like you back. 0/5, try Hinge.
Can't create an account, app suggested to try on web, and fails every time!
Match Group has totally destroyed this once great dating site. Forcing people to swipe completely defeats the original point of the site-to match you based on compatibility rather than physical appearance. The "match scores" are shamefully inaccurate now. Why does this app require 1.4 GIGABYTES of storage‽ The messaging UX is really terrible. The only good news: they no longer try to connect to Facebook, but they're still sharing your data with Google and AppsFlyer. Don't pay for this!

A husk of it's former self, bought out by the evil dating app monopoly group and totally ruined. Even match %, the core feature, is totally wrong now. You can't even really sort by distance. Tragic!
Bought premium because it said I had like 27 matches. Every single one was from somewhere in Asia. It's pretty much just a scam.
I read the news: you used 3 million pictures to train your AI models within user's consent. How degrading, heinous and vile that is! I hope somebody sues you and force you to go out of business for stealing people's data.
Its absolutely ridiculous that these people dont let you turn off being visible to people from all over the world. i have zero interest in the exessive amount of likes i get from women in the philippines and africa. and theres no way to stop them from flooding my inbox. and if youre considering paying cause you have a bunch of likes, you might find out most of them are from people from these countries after you pay, since you cant see most of their locations until you pay.

literally full of bots. you can tell when you are swiping and see the SAME PICTURES under 7 different names. When you do match, it's a bot asking for you to like their Instagram page or sign up for their OnlyFans. This app is a money grab to try and get people to buy into their premium, only to get bombarded with advertisements to go sign up for their porn
I purchased a 6 month membership and within a month my account was banned (no explanation, I cannot login with my phone number). I contacted OkCupid support and they said to provide an email address for the account, but I never set up an email address with the account. Only a phone number was registered with the account.
Not only does OkCupid charge you for everything, they also keep telling you to upload more photos for your profile to be seen and whats even more annoying are their guidelines as they don’t allow photos of yourself or family as a child. I tried uploading a few photos from my album, most were removed, including my Grandparents holding my mother. No bathtub or inappropriate scenes, either. To them even me as a child sitting at the dinner table with my grandmother and mother was inappropriate.

Corporate trash now. This use to be legitimately the best dating site available. it was cheap to free. now, their app is garbage, they bait you into paying(literally 8x more than what it use to cost for 1 week vs a month) just to interact then once you're invested they dont show you matches, the ones you liked the most vanish(including super likes) and then pump people from other countries to you. what's really interesting, is the same thing occurs on the other apps they advertise. Scammers.

Far too limited without investing and the matching has gotten so bad it just shows you repeats when there's nobody new. Edit: the pricing is also terrible. You can get other premium apps for $100-150 a year. OKC is over $200 a year. That's insane.
Hardly any real humans left on this app (at least not from this country!). Then I got randomly kicked out of my account after 1 day and couldn't get back in. Requested help from OKCupid and was told that I had been banned (I had done absolutely nothing wrong). I asked them to confirm that my old account and details were now deleted and now they're ignoring my emails. Definitely don't recommend!

preferences don't matter unless you pay. accounts are flooded with likes from users in other countries to attempt to get you to subscribe. even if you pay, you'll be shown the same users over and over again if you swipe left on them. I guess swiping left once isn't good enough for okc. just goes to show the downward slide that the online dating world is experiencing due to match group buying up all the apps. I'd suggest sticking with apps NOT in the match group sphere.
Really bad now. I liked it like six years ago but now there are so many ads and banners that block the screen and try to make you pay for premium.

Very disappointed. Stay away... Misleading likes from foreign countries. Can't see until you pay. Very few local people, flooded with national or international accounts that are again misleading. Price is much too high for the amount of matches - my suggestion is to find another site that provides at least some local profiles that are active.

Doesn't allow me to log in. It auto logged me out and every time I tried to login again with OTP it said wrong password.
I keep experiencing trouble with phone number. It said unable to send SMS. But, nothing is wrong. I could not move forward or backward. So, it's basically stucked.
i use this app only 1 days and next day i purchase 3 month subscription. but after i punched they baned my account and now they reply, all payment is non-refundable. first of all if my profile verified, so why you make my profile baned. i request to all dear friends, please dont purched forpaid service and don't make your profile on okcupid app. dont use this fake app app. I'm 100% sure, they share data with third party.
the app used to be really good! now it says 99+ and I hardly get any matches. quickly runs out of ppl to swipe on. I have to click on passport for international to see options to swipe on. a lot of things can only be opened. however today I opened the app and I was logged off. which means I've been banned without warning or knowing why. imagine if I would've paid. they would've still kicked me off for no reason. and I still would've been in the same situation. with their horrible service

april 2026 update. all over bot or ai created profiles. if you see very handsome, good looking with a good body profile, 99.9% straight. you probably will match, they will talk, then ask WhatsApp number, and probably will say they are oversea and need money etc. 2025 review. It's a money trap. I keep seeing the same people I swiped to the left. If you pay and get a membership, those who liked you are not close to you.
Useless and unfair . this app it's a scam. 1) many profiles are fake. the okCupid delete your account for NOT reason whenever they want. the app contains so many bugs that often do not recognize your correct password or username and communicate with the okCupid for a reset it's not easy at all. there are better free app and more reliable with a more serious team behind. Do not waste time here .
I think it's app a lot more work.You need to explain how it works because It's not very user-friendly, that's pretty dangerous. Sure try to talk to people on here and if you click off and look at something else, then try to come back to it, you can't even get back to the person.
