The most pointless food app. You scan, then the app asks ME to enter the data. Easier to take a picture and ask AI to analyze. 0 stars

cannot uninstall
added about 4 items, but then then just kept crashing out. wouldn't record what I was uploading Great, now I can scan and see what's ultra processed! Still there's no Nova scale for marigold nutritional yeast flakes :( I guess it's only minimally processed? Because it's yeast that's dried with no additives, flavourings, colourings, added salt etc? I hope so any great source of B12 for vegans :)

doesn't let you put in custom allergies, which is what i wanted it for.
My phone gets very hot using this app. Generally work okay.
Requires an account. Every item i scanned requires that i add missing label information. Then it wants a photo of the item & you must give access to all your photos, and other data. i dont have for the xtra work app requires, and it doesn't need my personal data. Uninstalled after 5 common scanned items. If you have time, & dont care about your data, it should be helpful to have. We do all the work for (them) the app.
It just doesn't recognise 9/10 items i scan, wish we could just click register product and enter details to improve the app just like Wikipedia.

Do not install this! I have tried to uninstall it now for over a year and my phone cannot uninstall it! this is the only app I have ever had that I simply cannot remove from my phone. I tried everything, also updating the app, contacting them by email (no response) and it just sitting there taking up space on my phone. I have a Samsung btw.

Open food facts is good in theory. The unfortunate reality is the user maintained database which is horribly inaccurate. I used OFF to check my calorie intake and every single product has wrong data with discrepancy measured in thousand of calories.
hard to navigate and doesn't have a ton of options as a person with food allergies such as herbs there is nothing to select to scan for food allergies such as herbs because I am specific am allergic to rosemary and I'm very disappointed because I was looking for a app to ensure the food I am consuming is safe for me

Hasn't found anything that i've scanned in the database and i've tried different stuff candies, coffee, oil and etc. Adding into database is manual which is weird considering the number of AI products or OCR which would automatically input all the data for you based on a photo

It says "barcode of the product does not exist" on practically all of the food products I scan.
I don't know...but i think the app can do better especially the interface design... Its too complicated and confusing
This application is not good; it is just a waste of time and effort.
Truly dreadful app. UI is frankly hideous - I'm sure the local kindergarten for the blind could have designed a more visually appealing app. Data input is slow and clunky, and leaving you unsure if you actually submitted your input or not. And your website is truly shocking on many different issues - refusal to accept login (which worked on the app), 'contact us' gives a 404 error, language select refuse to select, and many other issues too numerous to mention. Horrible useless app & website.
Scanner through camera is horrible and search never finds food.

No good for Canada really, couldn't find info on things like my salt, or Cadbury minineggs for example
seems like it would be a really nice app but unfortunately it seems under the filters there's nothing for beef and/or lamb allergies. I'd have to select vegetarian but that's not ideal.

Initially downloaded the same by watching some advertisement but not Woth downloding for many products it doesn't have any data available to show so not useful at all. idea was good but not implemented properly.
Cannot Manage Account or report problematic items via the app, always diverts to external browser where you have to sign in again & start over. No walk through on ideal process of adding an item to database. Cannot flag an irrelevant, discontinued item or item with lack of details to be deleted.

Yes, I agree with most of the reviews. The App is very inconvenient fir the use. the UI requires full redesign as it is not user friendly. Has quite a few bugs, when updates are not reflected. Many things are not logically places or well explained. Too many things to be improved before I can provide very concrete feedback. I will try this app in couple of years and let's see. until then thanks for your efforts. br.
Judgments about nutritional value from vegan and mainstream sources.
Kinda disappointed with the app. Everything I scan it says it doesn't have it in the data base, which makes no sense because these are popular products where I live. I thought it was supposed to look the products up by itself too, but it just keeps asking me for the info and pictures of the products instead. I'm just going to uninstall this because it clearly doesn't work how I was told it would.

This app could almost be great, but the UX has been plagued by basic issues for years. Language selection is inconsistent; extraction does not work most of the time; category search freezes; selected category is ignored, … Maybe most issues are related to caching / outdated local database entries. I can only guess. But I always need to go back to the web interface to fix entries.
Adding product informations is a chore as it keeps saying missing info even when they're already saved in the app
