Absolutely hopeless app. Just bought an io6 directly from Oral B in the UK and thought I'd download and try the app. Upon opening the app it finds the toothbrush ok, but I then can't get past the second screen that wants me to provide my location. The only options offered are US states. How do I get the app to know my location when "Location" is not a permission that can be "Allowed" in the app?

Horrible app with horrible tracking
edit: May 6, 2026. what in the world is wrong with this app? the old version was just starting to work wonderfully, then this latest update rolled out. it doesn't track where you are in your brushing. it's all over the place. I could be brushing my right uppers and the app says I'm on my left lowers. this renders it useless for the other features. I love the brush and will continue using it, but this new updated app is absolute garbage.

since my pixel9pro has installed Android 16, the bluetooth has become unstable on my Series 7000 toothbrush, and rarely connects.
update after using this new io9 toothbrush and the latest app update, how can an app go from bad to utterly incapable of recording what part of the mouth the brush head is, you clean one side and it thinks your somewhere else, the previous version was bad but way better than this version, don't bother installing this totally waist of memory space, sorry wish I could give NO stars 😡
it doesn't work
I wanted to like this app, but it sucks. it keeps changing my brush setting back to normal (I really need the sensitive +) and it stops the 30 sec vibration, which I also really need. it didn't even have a way for me to provide feedback. I'll find another way to track my brush habits which will also save me from the 'replace the head so we get more money' warnings as well.
Whatever you did on the last update messed up motion sensing. It thinks it's on the wrong side of the mouth, and doesn't detect more 50% of the mouth. It's awful! I used for a couple of months, no problem, but I turned it on a week or so ago and the mouth looked different on the app and the tracking since then has been abysmal! it says bug fixes and performance improvement for the update and it went the other way for me!

Three times every session a pop-up blanks out the clock saying that the session has to restart, but pressing OK makes the timer continue. I have reinstalled, stopped the app, cleared the cache all many times, but nothing stops this. A bit of a waste of time.
What have you done to the app. Why make the time smaller so it's harder to see without glasses on?
This last update is terrible. The app mistakes left and right teeth and up and down teeth. The dark background makes it even harder to tell progress. Please go back to the previous app version! It was way better than this one!
very bad app or very bad io5 toothbrush... app is disconnecting from the toothbrush every few uses
Worked for about 4 weeks then won't connect to my toothbrush. Tried all suggestions. Very disappointed.
I've been trying to use this app for two weeks. The only thing it does that it claims to do is connect to my toothbrush with Bluetooth. I even tried deleting it & reinstalling. It stops recording my time & tells me I should brush longer & that's with the position detection turned off. It gets worse if you try to use that feature. There's not even a way to manually enter that you actually did brush. To make matters worse I got this brush because I wanted an app to record my progress!!
Seems a good idea. Messages found brush can't find brush and keeps repeating. What a waste time. the moment for deletion has come!
the reason why this app gets 1 star is i brush my teeth but then it dosn't show where i brushed so please fix this
I have just purchased an IO6. The app finds the toothbrush l, however then won't move on to any other screen and disconnects if you then start brushing teeth. Looks like it might be good if it worked.
With IO 8 brush. Brush position Accuracy is HORRIBLY INACCURATE!!! I did cache and data clears as well as a reset. nothing improved. ADDITIONALLY: I'd love for there to be a water pick option in the routines.
The developer has decided to cease support for my otherwise perfectly functioning device - no other app developer has. This speaks volumes. Such decision has rendered my new toothbrush practically useless and ruined my user experience, that I paid for in good conscience. Your business conduct suggests that I should look elsewhere the next time around.
Just doesn't work well, smart toothbrushes aren't that smart
I installed the App upon receipt of my brush.A year later I've just tried to log in and the App states it is no longer compatible on my device 🤷
Corporate greed to the max! This app does not allow sharing your handle! and they even replied to another user saying to buy another handle, this is unacceptable when the single device costs over 100$. My 15$ scale has multi user allowed!!

The app worked fine for the first few days, but within a week it stopped tracking my brushing sessions entirely. The toothbrush still works, but the app no longer records activity or provides any useful feedback. For something that’s supposed to add value to the product, this is a major letdown. The hardware is solid, but the app feels unreliable and inconsistent. I wouldn’t depend on it if tracking is important to you.
frequent disconnects make this useless. it should detect a fault within 1 min and just continue the session
Cannot detect correct place where i am cleaning. Often left is left side but right side is also left side.
Position Detection is very inaccurate, that makes the existence of this app pointless.

Bluetooth connection is huge problem with this app. It takes a lot effort to connect brush and charging base to the app first time... but than they become disconnected again. App says "shake your brush to connect it" but that never works. You need to uninstall and reinstall it again which makes no sense. I bought this brush partly because of the app, but I never use it because its always disconnected.
I really liked the app before but since its been updated I hate it now. I'm trying to brush my teeth and it keeps moving me around to different sections of my teeth to which I am not moving to. I am still in the same area of my mouth. 2 minutes turns into more minutes because it puts me on different areas where I am not brushing but timer keeps going. Very frustrating. Everything was great. Now its awful. Why did do you do that to me.

UPDATE: ORAL-B, you're getting better with latest update. Nice improvements, but: It doesn't always accurately reflect brushing coverage but the "%" keeps moving forward even if my brush is on the same tooth for a while. Some bugs need to be fixed. The timer font size was reduced, which I rely on for progress as well as coverage of where I'm at. UPDATE: App asks to log in, until I tap another area in the app, then it recognizes my toothbrush. back to 2⭐️. A very annoying way to start your day.
Last few weeks app has become very unreliable. It was very accurate but now it doesn't know if you brushing bottom left, top left or even right. It's all over the place. I'm thinking of stopping using the app.
I've been using this app with an iO9 brush for about 18 months, and it's been okay, though a bit annoying that it won't connect with my Oral-B web account to save the data. But this latest update, and the redesigned brushing guide sucks! Half the time, it's showing brushing applied in a completely different sector from where the brush really is, like, top centre instead of bottom left! If this is a compatibility issue with an older brush, I don't appreciate the forced obsolescence!
still got teething issues with brush tracking. I'm talking about 3d teeth and the brush position. It's only after a first use after the most recent update so I'll give it some more time, but I haven't got my hopes up.
Hate the new visual look. It looks like something from years ago and the percentage number is just distracting and annoying. It worked perfectly well before and looked great, they've ruined it for no reason whatsoever.
It used to show location of the brush on my teeth, but it doesn't do so anymore. Sometimes, the app restarts after a few seconds of brushing, and doesn't account maybe 30 seconds or so, which means that it tells me to brush longer than 2 minutes. Obviously, we can stop when we wish to, but it tells me I didn't do a good enough job. In summary, I am rather disappointed.
I can not create an account on the app. There isn't a menu to sign into.
