There is no button to login on android. You literally cant log in anymore. I don't believe they actually test their own software, which is why it is so shockingly poor. How can you have an appointment that does not show the login button. Very very poor updates.
Gives off way too many pointless alerts that are nothing to do with my child's health.
camera doesn't ever connect.
Not sure how the Owlet is considered the best on the market. Consistently sets off false alarms due to the Bluetooth disconnecting itself or having poor signal from 25 feet away. For new parents, don't waste your money and shop elsewhere

We've had multiple instances of the foot wrap not being picked up by the receiver as well as the camera not working properly. We use the camera as a baby monitor at night, and several times the app will shut off by itself, freeze the picture in place, or the sound will stop working. Updated as of 5/2/26: We have two cameras (one given to us by warranty), which have both completely failed with all options to reset, reboot, and reinstall. These are useless products, and I do not recommend you buy.
Unusable. Without a way to turn off alerts, we won't be able to use the smart sock. I need only monitoring (pulse, oxygen, movement) but NO ALERTS. Especially no alerts about wiggling. Our baby wiggles a lot and its absolutely no problem. Plus we have a motorized crib that continuously rocks her so the sock will constantly produce false alarms. Very disappointed as I was excited to use the smart sock on our baby. The app and the device are well designed otherwise.
Latest update broke the app. Can't view the camera when in portrait mode.

paid feature hasn't worked since January. I asked for refund and got denied. I've reached out to Owlet and they tell me to use a friend or family members phone. like what sense does that make?
the app is awful and buggy. it sometimes takes 20-30 seconds to open, all while an alarm is going off. the sock gives so many false alarms. it gets a little loose sometimes as the baby moves around and the alarm is like "YOU'RE BABY IS DYING RIGHT NOW!". the alarm sounds like there's an incoming missile. I've been holding my perfectly fine baby and had the alarm go off. also the camera disconnects sometimes and sometimes refuses to reconnect unless unplugged and replugged several times.
online only, no offline capability. sip calls are easy to intercept, no security. forced update, old devices show babies insert a download dialog that cannot be removed and cannot be updated. garbage hardware. I would shop other products
For being a baby monitor that is dependent on an application the application sure does freeze and glitch a lot. Everytime I use it I have to restart it multiple times and by then I just go check on baby with my eyeballs. Honestly? Would not buy again or tell anyone else to buy it either.
if you're getting an alarm, you know, the thing you get when your kid might be dying, the app will still force you to download a new version before letting you either silence it or maybe check on the kid dying status. in addition to the device having a 3 to 4 in range, absolutely horrible experience.
enshittification has been enabled for this app unfortunately. 8 months ago it used to be that you could see up to 7 days worth of clips so you could go back and grab a special moment, now you need to pay extra for that storage, the fact that I can pay and get that clip means they're already storing it in the hopes that I pay? I'm sorry, but that's simply obscene that you'd bother storing it if you won't let me access it without even mentioning the darker implications that may have for privacy.
This app lags SO much. The sock will alert and beep loudly saying it's getting bad readings even though its literally fine. When you go into app to shut it off half the time the app takes 3 times of opening and closing it to actually respond and be able to shut it off, so the whole time its beeping like crazy overwhelming you and baby. Then the correct or current readings take forever to display.
the camera software is absolute dog water. it really struggles to produce an image. likely because the app is so bloated now.

The app continues to crash constantly
worked for years on 2 different tablets until last update. now it crashes when loading camera view on both machines. uninstalled,restarted,reinstalled, same results
This app rarely works when I need it to. reliability is non-existent.
Ever since updating the app I cant see my babies sleep status live anymore or see how many hours baby slept. Frustrating.

DO NOT BUY this absolute garbage. App almost never connects to camera properly, has been this way for 2 years. Sometimes you get audio with no video, sometimes wife can connect but not me, sometimes neither while our kid is screaming and we can't see. Camera also claims to have poor Wi-Fi connectivity, it's 6ft from router. Like many here I am unimpressed but trapped because I already own it.
slow and laggy
The sock will stop receiving signal anytime you are holding the baby, changing the baby, the baby is moving, ect. Basically the only time the sock can communicate with the base, that is only 8 foot away, is when the baby is peacefully sleeping. The app is utter garbage. It will auto pick the resolution for the cam even if your system can't support it. You cannot change it either because it will always default back to 2k resolution resulting in a blue screen of death anytime you click on the cam
Camera disconnects all the time. I have to restart the app 100 times a day

The physical device is great... The app... fails consistently on all devices across all platforms. You need to restart the app every time you come back to it as it's often faster than waiting a few minutes for it to finally reconnect to the camera. not the end of the world, but now I write this review because one of my devices that has been working fine can no longer OPEN THE APP AT ALL, even after restarting the phone. Devs. fix the app.
useless once your baby moves into their own room. baby is a few feet away in the room next door but the base cant connect to the sock due to the wall. however, putting the base in the baby's room is pointless as the app only sends alerts with sound if you have the app open, when closed it only sends a push notification and unless you're staring at your phone all night its useless. ive gone through every phone and app setting to see if there is a work around but there isnt
Whilst the sock works well in tracking (though has very limited Bluetooth range), the dream camera is abysmal in WiFi range. The mic and camera sensor are perfect, don't get me wrong. But sadly the range is ridiculous! Whilst the signal from the router only goes through one joist floor and a total distance of about 4 meters, the signal is so poor it's always showing weak or fair (even though our phones show full WiFi bars). Besides, most of the time the feed skips and or doesn't work at all.

I never had an issue using the Owlet Care app for 2 years, but after accidentally uninstalling the old app, I couldn't get it to reinstall, so was forced to download the new version (Owlet Dream) and like others have stated, it sucks. it is a much larger app (145 MB vs. 25 MB right off the bat) and the video feed constantly stalls so you have to restart the app. I don't trust it for notifications and haven't traveled since the app update but I expect it to be terrible. worst product ever!
never works. its 4am and it says my kid is awake but I cant see him at all.
the dream sock base has serious issues with my WiFi. if the router gets turned off the base won't reconnect to my WiFi no matter what. I've split the 2.4ghz channels and it's still won't connect. for the price the hardware is absolute rubbish.
worked for a while but now the camera doesnt even hook up anymore. we have tried calling and no support can figure it out. Android and Apple. 18 months old.
Owlet support has been extremely poor and unhelpful. Despite clearly explaining the issue multiple times, responses are scripted and do not address the actual problem. The same troubleshooting steps and speed tests were repeatedly requested even after being completed. No real investigation has been done into an intermittent fault that occurs under identical conditions. Overall, the support process has been repetitive, unproductive, and has failed to resolve the issue. Don't waste your money

Cannot connect to camera, multiple reboots, resets, wifi changes. Uninstall and reinstall is the only way to connect the camera then if the app is closed camera connection is lost until app is completely uninstalled and reinstalled.
I spent 300 dollars and cant connect to app seems like ALOT of people have this problem
This app is the single worst app I have ever experienced on a smart phone. Not one of its features work correctly. Regardless of what notifications settings you select, it notifies you of whatever it wants, whenever it wants. The video feed almost never works. The audio is terrible. Just yesterday, the app notified me it was 491° F in my son's room, which is 1. insane, and 2. funny because I've turned off temperature notifications multiple times! Truly, this garbage could not be worse.
I was gifted The Owlet 2 and I can't even make it past registration. It would only let me set up an account if I selected Owlet not Cam 2 per the box. Now it won't connect to the wifi at all. I basically have a gift I can't even use.
The company wants additional subscription for things like body position, I've paid for the device so stop blocking it's features behind greedy paywalls, will not be recommending this product to anyone and will actively dissuade as many patents from it as possible.
absolutely the worst product and customer service we have ever experienced. Do not recommend this product. We purchased their product and it kept us up nights on end with flash alerts. Go buy the eufy sock we have had great experience with it. Owlette would not accept return and argues for a week with me until I gave up!!
