Don't bother with the app. Absolutely useless excuse of a piece of software.

haven't been able to set up the feeder or water because the app is unresponsive and crashes. Was able to connect but can't keep app open longer then a couple seconds, before app freezes and crashes.
The app has been crashing upon ever since I allowed the necessary permissions. I can use it for about 10 seconds before it kicks me out. I can't set up a feeding schedule like this.
the app and company in general has gone down hill
what a waste. can't even use my smart camera feeder because they've somehow managed to break everything in the app. will not connect to my device anymore, no matter how many times I unplug our reset it. moving it closer to router did nothing. from the amount of complaints on here and Reddit, it sounds like Petlibro owes a lot of people a refund of they aren't gonna fix this asap.
I can't adjust anything the dang app just crashes any time I open it for more than 15 seconds. I pay for the ability to view my cat eating but what's the point if it just crashes? this is ridiculous.
No option to select Mixed-Breed/Non-Pedigree cat at the very beginning. Stupid.
I purchased 3 RFID feeders about 6 months ago and for the most part, for the first 2 months they worked as designed. However since then, food gets stuck in the outlets on all 3 almost daily. But I haven't changed the food. One feeder now randomly will stay open. All of thisiss obviously the opposite of what I invested a good chunk of money for. The app is laggy as well. I already put in a ticket about the food getting stuck and I have been ignored.
This app is terrible. If you are considering their product, prepare to be constantly harassed worse than a scammy website with in-app money-grabs. At least daily, you'll get notifications that seem like tips and features but are really just invitations to pay for their stupid, expensive subscription service. Every time you access a device, you'll also be prompted to pay up more money. Every time you open the app, you'll be presented with a product you should buy. Garbage.
the problem is polar is solely dependent on the app, which they are constantly changing. if u cant connect, the machine is useless. in order to avoid resets, I had to setup an old phone on my guest network then install this app on that phone, all because the 2.4ghz network stuff is finicky bad for some crazy reason in 2025. 1 owner can send invites, but if u reset u have to do invites all over again. I lose an hour of my life trying to reconnect every single time.

Does not respect Android notifixations groupings to separate out spam notifications from necessary alerts.
Downloaded the app to set up the feeder. No matter what access point I used, it wouldn't connect. I also tried the ad-hoc feeder connection and it still didn't work. I'll be returning the feeders in order to go with a different brand with better reviews.

The app could be decent, but the auth system seems broken. It's next to impossible to take any sort of action because it claims the logon expired and forces re-authentication every 15 seconds or less. Asking for auth confirmation on action would be fine, but this simply re-logs you in, brings you back to the main page and resets any updates you've made. clearly you don't understand. logging in is not the issue. the issue is the auth expiring literally 5 seconds after logging.
This is a very sheisty app that wants a subscription for what other devices offer for free like PETKIT. I did not see any mention of this in the add for their devices which leads me to believe this is deceptive by design. Petlibro shame on you for trying to bleed your customer for something you can either offer for free or take away so your app is not so annoying to navigate.
Genuinely one of the worst designed apps ive EVER seen. It won't even let you set three days of meal plan to feed them at the same time and duration every day. I tried setting 3 days, feed at 6pm for 15 minutes but on the third dah it will onmy accept 3 minutes or less. Stay away from these products, they ade terrible to sync, riddled with them begging you to pay them monthly and lacking features unless you do.
no support for 'smart' fountain
$100 for a manual feeder that I can't control the portion size? Thanks Petlibro. The app won't recognize the feeder or wifi and the feeder doesn't broadcast Bluetooth. Total waste of time and money.
This greedy developer keeps sending you ads notifications and pop up ads inside the app. Trying hard to ask you to sign up for their subscription service.
Doesn't matter that you paid for a cloud subscription. You go to the watch the video, and it will just tell you that to have pay.
can not cancel the service
Irritated that I bought an automatic feeder and now for it to be "automatic" i have to pay MORE money on top of the $150 i already paid for the dang thing. NO WHERE in the description of the device does it say you have to pay a subscription in order to use the scheduled feedings! So its NOT automatic. This is a trash company that lies to get your money. disappointing
I just set up the app and had to enter a bunch of data mining information to basically sell me another app for their "all in one tool." I haven't even turned the feeder on yet and I already want to return this product based on how terrible the app is. We currently have an analog feeder with manual press buttons and no WiFi or app, but it dispenses too much food now that our kitty is getting older and we needed to cut back on his portion sizes. Thought this would work but nope.
doesn't work
I have two feeders and since last night both lost wifi connection. It looks like there is a network outage based on what I am seeing on reddit but I wouldn't have known because the app did not alert me of any issues. I don't think the feeders went off this morning because both my cats were very angry this morning. I still can't regain connection. I can't feed my cats timely and this is an issue.
the last few updates really broke this app. I've had to delete and recreate schedules multiple times due to the feeding times that I've set randomly change by themselves. the polar feeder has also failed to open at scheduled times about 3 times in the past two weeks. now I'm getting notifications that it's losing Internet connection
I have to be at work today at 5am. I woke up around midnight and noticed the feeder had lost wifi connection and because of this, wasn't dispensing food or opening the drawer for my cats. I spent the next two hours troubleshooting every solution only to find out the problem was with their servers and nothing on my end. If my pets can't be fed because your servers have an issue, then I cannot trust you with their care. I have processed my refund and would tell others to research before buying.
this was working great for about a year and now my petlibro devices won't even connect to internet I really hope this get resolved, we have had no issues up until recently
I wished I read the app reviews before buying the wet feeder. App is unfortunately unreliable. Scheduling is unrealistic, it is not user friendly, pain to schedule. I literally have to use it like manual feeder, open and close while standing next to it. Also, why are they asking the whole set of questions about the pet? Why anything else than name and maybe the photo needed? No reason! Also, nowhere in US people know that many cat breeds other than tabby so you better add that.
Poorly written app. Buttons that don't do anything (e.g. "get started" just takes you back to home screen); screens you can't leave without risking deleting settings, etc. The feeder itself has more issues, but it would be a lot easier to let those pass if the app helped recovering from them.
Reached out to support about all three of my units no longer sending me notifications for anything despite clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, cleaning the sensors, resetting the units, everything. They emailed me for about a day and then just stopped afyer telling em they've escalated to a supervisor. Haven't heard a word since and that was over a week ago.

like everyone else has said, feeders and the app were great up until about a month ago and now neither work as intended
it logged me out, deleted my account, my pets, and all my devices. I will no longer ever recommend any product from this company. If I see a new pet libro product in a box Im destroying it in front of whatever house its in front of.
annoying app, unnecessary number of clicks to get to basic things and constantly advertising their subscription with a page that can only be closed by force closing the app completely and starting over
since the most recent update I can not get this to connect to my feeders. I've tried all the trouble-shooting and it is just a lesson in frustration!
Doesn't work. Can't connect water tank no matter what. Wasted way too much time troubleshooting. Don't bother.
Will not stay connected. Therefore, unable to use all features. Returning the pet feeder as Im very dissatisfied that I cannot get the app features to work and the device must be controlled through the app. Reset the device several times, still won't work properly.
Used to work great, now repeatedly logs me out and tells me that my login expired. Notifications don't work at all once it logs you out either.
the device keeps resetting on its own and beeps constently after 9:30 at night. never during the day. And i have to constantly readd the device. its effung annoying. i've had the feeder for several years and haven't had any issues until this latest update.
can't log in to app. Constantly have to resign in. Reset password doesn't come. We leave tomorrow and can't utilize the two feeders we bought now. Terrible
What kind of amateur hour app makes you log in every damn time? Atrocious.
doesnt feed cups like it says it does, doesnt notify me for low food levels until it's out, audio is bad, hard to clean would not recommend there are much better automatic feeders out there it is also very bad at notifying me when there is morion or sound it can notify me from sound from several rooms away but not when my cat is at the bowl.

Annoying full screen ads that pop up the exact moment you try to feed your pet manually, which I have accidentally clicked multiple times and I am sick of it. There is no way to turn off advertising in the app. I already bought the device, I am not interested in more devices and especially not a subscription to any services.
Typical experience for pet applications nowadays sadly, predatory ads for the "better health tracking" as long as you pay $10-$20/month! And if you aren't a part of the PetLibro ecosystem, then don't bother adding your pets. Otherwise from a very high level, it's nice to see exactly HOW MUCH my cats drink, generally. You will get notified of water evaporating. Edit 2/20/26: Knocking off the last star due to daily ads now.
