Now have a free app which appears to be better. Why have you charged me for something I deleted after 5 days? Misleading and dishonest - I would rather spend the money on bird food. :(. I cancelled it 48hrs before!!!

Did not give me a free trial, just took money out for a year which is seemingly impossible to get back. And it's not accurate as it didn't recognise a blackbird or Robin that were there.

The sound ID kept telling me everything was either a great horned owl or a crow. Neither of which sound anything like the bird I recorded.
Tried it once, it wouldn't even take a picture. I think the bird might have been to far away for the app to properly register it, but how am I supposed to get closer to a bird without scaring it away? Got recommended a better app.

Don't be fooled, it says in-app purchases, which is technically true but it's a monthly subscription just to use the app
I initially signed up for the 7day free trial, but the full annual subscription fee was deducted from my account immediately. and then when I entered my first sound, I was given several bird options, none of which were correct. I now have a year-long subscription to an app that doesn’t even work, which is extremely disappointing.

I downloaded Picture Bird to try to identify birds we could hear on a spring woodland walk. To my disappointment, Picture Bird picked up only one bird out of several birds singing. As it happens, my partner had another well-known bird-identifying app on her phone, which I didn't know about. So we decided to put both apps to the test; the other app managed to pick out all of the birds we could hear.
very cool app but pricey
I only had a chance to try it a couple times before the trial subscription ended. We had sun and birds for a few days, but then it got cold and most birds disappeared. It successfully identified two VERY common birds -- California Quail and Redwing Blackbird. It did not pick up some of the other birds also in the area. Hopefully the publishers will consider a one-month trial, or they'll release a limited free version with an option to upgrade to a paid full version.
