They get you with sneaky yearly charges that auto-renew for $164.99. I called the day after they charged me to request a refund and cancellation, but they refused, even after I submitted a request through Google Play like they asked.
It has potential but the voice recognition is so, so terrible and awful. It will hallucinate extra syllables in your recording, and it also scores you horribly if you have the correct words in an order different from what the app suggests (even if it's still technically correct). I like the concept of it but the thought of paying that kind of price for an app with such horrific voice recognition, the main selling point of the app, is unfathomable.
what are nightmare for 30 minutes and the app was not working I could not tap anywhere

Are you going to fix the Challenge portion of the lesson? It will not record your answer, and gives an error. Pretty aggravating, considering the fact I pay for this app. 🫤
There is no Learn English as a Urdu speaker.
DO NOT USE IT FOR JAPANESE!!! They have so many translations errors... Exam 1: It's not "koko ya arimasen" it's "koko ni arimasen" (it's not here). 2: Its not "Yozu ni hanashimasu" it's Yozu desu ne" (you speak well). I have to fact checked all the time. I mean this app costs over $100 why does it have basic errors? I reported this error and they still haven't fixed it or refunded me!!!
the app is no good I used it once, they charged me for two years; customer service isn't helpful. I would expect a money back guarantee, no such thing; don't waste your money.

I'm currently very disappointed in Pimsleur and ,especially their customer support. I have been unable to access Spanish Level 3. I called Customer Service. The agent kept suggesting that my subscription is not current....I haven't paid for April. WRONG! My bank statement reflects a payment and I had no problem with a French lesson this morning. I signed off and signed on again and now the app is asking me to pay once more. I have been a very happy customer of Pimsleur until now.
very uneven operation. I've been working with it for a few months now and it's frustrating at least half the time. I've corresponded with pimsleur and my conclusion is that it's just not good when data service is not strong and consistent. zero stars for the app though the content is excellent when I can get there.

This reminds me of listening to audio tapes trying to learn Brazilian portugues in the 90s. Not helpful at all.

I travel and find myself without service often enough that this makes the app often useless and I can't justify renewing my subscription with this surprise restriction.
I tried the 1st lesson course, It's seems good and great for learning together with duolingo. i loved that it works with Car media. but it's to pricey, it cost 3 times from the competition. and I don't understand why didn't they go with buying courses like the website version.
if you want to learn how to say numbers, this is the course for you. bombards you with sentences with zero explanation of how sentence structure works and expects you to intuit everything. would never recommend this to anyone. this is my second attempt at using this service. awful
you would guess that playing audio would be a solved problem in 2026. Does not seem like it for this app. It sometimes does not keep track of your progress or even when pausing/resuming via headphones it will play an entirely different lesson. pretty sad the actual content is great.
