I am really disappointed in the android version of this app. The IOS version is good and is really worth getting if you have an apple device. I have purchased this app twice on Android the first time the list glitched and I was able to receive a refund. The second time I purchased it was after the bug fix and on a new device. The app didn't open due to a 'technical error'. I am really disappointed as I was not refunded and the developers have to replied to my complaint. The price is not ok.
I purchased this app in 2018. I have recently purchased a new mobile phone. I am unable to upload this app on to my new phone. I am being advised by Gibbon Multi Media that my mobile phone is the reason I cannot update the app. I am unable to obtain a refund for the app.

Asks for my registered name but doesn't accept it and keeps asking UPDATE I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Now working fine. NOT AT THE LEVEL I CAN ACCESS. NO SUPPORT BUTTONS ON SCREEN
I just paid $50 for this app and downloaded it. To complete installation you are required to provide permission for the Android system to access all your contacts and all your images, media and files which I denied. I then get a mesage that the application will not complete installation without these permissions. I want my money back as now I have nothing for it.
Crashes all the time on Android. So annoying. Better off getting the book. Great book, terrible app.
Love the app (my friend has it and I have seen it) however I don't understand why you need access to my contacts and I am not comfortable giving that. Sadly I will look for another app. I did register my name, address and email and gave permission for my location and phone storage but the app will not work without me allowing permission to access my contacts.
Crashes regularly on my S8+. Two device limit is lame and breaches Google TOS.
The content on the app is first rate, unfortunately the crashes that occur every couple of minutes are very annoying when using the app. This is by far the most unreliable app I have, including dozens of free ones. If this was a free app one could overlook that, but this is a very expensive AU$50 app! At that price the exceptionally poor quality is unconscionable hence the poor rating.

Great information but finding it is difficult. The app is confusing and hasn't been updated in 3 years. What's the difference between Field Guide and Bird Guide and Bird Identification? What are the different bird names sorting? I would expect to be able to save photos to my personal list of birds I've seen, but this basic feature is missing. Many complaints and answers, but nothing is done to actually fix the problems. At this price it's not ok. I regret buying this app.
We love PK bird app but when my partner upgraded his phone, his lists are no longer visible in the app, even though the files were transferred over and can be seen in the internal storage. He has spent 100s of hours on his lists and is extremely frustrated.

Dozens of crash reports have been submitted but nothing gets done about it. It's a fault with the app that ruins its most desirable feature! Please fix it! Yes Gibbon Multimedia, the GPS location certainly works, but it only works reliably if you force a stop on the app and restart it from scratch. If it works today it will generally crash tomorrow. There's nothing wrong with the GPS location, the problem is with your app crashing after it has been dormant for some time. Version 1.4 is worse, I have to force stop it every single time I return to the app.
Crashes just about every time I use it on my Galaxy Note 4.
Used it on a galaxy s5 and now on note 7. Frequent crashes on both. Also it doesn't find the external sd card. When I copied the (internally installed) data to external card, deleted the internal data and then directed the app to the external card, it worked, so there wouldn't be principal problem. Had to do that a year ago with the S5 and now again with the Note 7. Contacted the developer but no fix. Also can't backup or restore my lists to Google drive or card. For the price it needs fixing!
