Update: Ha! You think I'm going to get Plex pass to use this garbage? Bye Felicia! I left Kodi because I've gotten tired of constantly "tinkering" with it to get it to do stuff it should by default- it's 2020! But at least it worked. Plex buffers CONSTANTLY even on a 1 Gb home network. On the TV, it usually works, pretty well, but this Android version is horrible. I think I might go back to Kodi.
It can't connect to my own local media library (says it's offline) even though I can connect and play vedeo via the web and other devices remotely. So until they fix this, the app is useless to me, so 1 star. They appear to have simplified the network settings, so with that they've also taken away any chance that I might be able to work around the issue myself. Very disappointed lifetime user.
I tried to stream two movies and a tv series on the app but it wouldn't let me. All was was to be able to stream on this app. I'm very disappointed in this app. I don't like being lied to.

not letting me log in.. just takes me to the browser I sign in and it says I'll be directed back to the app then nothing happens it just keeps repeating the process.. id like it to be fixed so I don't have to use my browser to watch movies

subtitles when casting hasn't worked for over a year. cancelling my subscription.
Still 1 star in 2026. They now requires you to get a "Remote Pass" in order for you to watch content remotely. Never was like that. I streamed video last week, didn't get that then. I'm done with Plex now, using Jellyfin as it's a better alternative overall.
Downloading is broken just stuck infinite loadin, doesn't show up in the download queue
used to be the go-to media center for Homelab builds and they absolutely sold out. moving to... actually, already moved to JellyFin. Peace ✌️

I paid the full lifetime price to strewm my own movies remotely on my device. Now it is not free. Moving to Jellyfin. Faster, easier, better.
the commercials play sound but the movies or TV shows don't to where you have to read captions
plex has a horrible email program, pelting you incessantly with useless things that when you attempt to unsubscribe simply ignores you while adding more and more hoops for you to jump through to unsubscribe. The latest Plextension is "groups" to talk about what you're watching. worse Plex forces you into one. NO! Just NO! Besides just not using the app, I can always leave/delete it. Keep that in mind.

Casting Plex on a Chromecast is so ridiculously quiet, it should be illegal. no but for real, no other streaming service has this issue except for Plex and has been going on for years

used to like Plex cuz I could stream my DVDs from other places. now it's a load of pool how to use a different program? unlike lines of other rubbish films on that, I didn't want to, but now they want me to pay

works great. back in 2026 and just like all good things this to looks like it has come to an end. I don't get my library in my account by my wife's just not mine only different I see is mine is administrator as a second layer of protection. looks like I will be setting up jellyfin with tailscail this weekend. I can't recommend to buy plex now. even if it was the old price.

Plex decided to not honor my lifetime subscription and now it's $700+, what a total scam. they took my money once and they try to scam me again.

THE WORST SCAM APPS EVER!!!!
The latest update for Android dropped the support of external srt after downloading for offline watching. on the menu. it shows selected for external srt however no subtitles are showing making my plex pass useless. *when online the same external srt working fine*. All tricks of always burn subtitles and redownload did not fix the issue. Plex team fix it! The reply that i have got from plex support is embarrassing...Plex team, just fix your self generated bugs.

The new update is awful. It changed everything for the layout, there's a major lag, the menu makes no sense. Absolutely abhorrable.
The new update to the app on Firestick is a truly awful experience. The side panel and pinned libraries are just gone. The whole layout is annoying. Just have a look at the forums and reviews on their own website, it is universally hated.
every update further breaks the mobile player. don't waste your money when they're apparently determined to destroy Plex
