Extremely disappointed with my experience on Preply as a new tutor. After being harassed by two adult students, I cancelled the lessons and reported the incidents. Soon after, my profile was hidden. I spent hours explaining the situation to customer support and was promised my profile would be made visible again after investigation, but that never happened. It has now been 3 days and I’m still unable to tutor. Very poor handling of a serious situation. I cannot recommend Preply to other tutors.

Congratulations on paying more than you expected! And if you dare contact customer service about any of this? Enjoy waiting 20 minutes on hold just to speak to someone.

The customer service did not assist well. They don't help as uesd to be this is scam I had lessons and they didn't refund me. No manger observe them thy look like behave wildly with out control 🤣 this the worse part of my experience and trial must paid for nothing... It's interviewe the chat gpt is better than preply

apps succs, it doesn't open, I have to uninstall it and then install it again
If you forget to use all your lessons (e.g. Personal emergency situations) Preply just eats up your lessons and doesn't refund. I lost $100+ because of this. There is nothing on their site that warns you of this. It is misleading and a way for them to rip off their customers. I want my money back.
No usability, this app doesn't work more.
It said a free trial class, and they charge you anyway half of the hour in addition of schedule it without your confirmation. This app is very misleading with unclear process. That's the reason the first steps is to put your payment method. Stay away from this kind off apps
If you dont have time to take your classes they will remove your credits and steal your money. Cancelling is incredibly confusing. Support is just Ai bots.

Blatantly biased against teachers. Students can change months-old reviews to 1 star without notice, and a single unfair update can tank your rating. Ridiculous. Add in high commissions-especially for beginners-and it’s clear this system isn’t built to be fair. Platforms like Upwork require mutual consent to change reviews. That’s basic fairness. Fix this, or expect teachers to keep leaving.
I've had over 300 hours of classes as a student on Preply, and I consider them scammers. The subscription involves paying for packages of classes. Once purchased, if the tutor decides to cancel their profile or stop teaching, Preply doesn't refund the unused classes and forces you to use them with another tutor. When you contact their support team to request a refund, they say they have to look into it and will get back to you, but they leave you waiting and you never receive a response.

I had a bad experience as a potential tutor. The topic I want to teach is not listed. Now, they are asking me to use a misleading topic and description.
Nightmare experience. Tutors frequently miss classes, claiming they weren’t informed or were notified too late. Even after booking and paying, sessions often don’t happen, wasting your time while you wait or only find out at the last minute that the class has been rescheduled for the same reason. There is little respect for your schedule. Expect a high chance of not taking the class, as tutors are often not informed in time.
Bad
terrible loading times. the app keeps getting stuck all the time. often the teachers do not show up and there is nothing you get to substitute your lost time. It's a very terrible organized application.

Whenever I use preply, I end up regretting it. Alternative tutoring platforms exist which involve packages rather than subscriptions.
If you don't have a credit card u cannot purchase any classes they have mentioned debit card as well but u can't purchase any class.
Hello, My Preply account was hacked by another person. This unexpectedly happened this morning around 4:00 AM. When I woke up at 8:00 AM, I saw that a student had booked a trial lesson at 5:25 AM, even though my availability starts at 7:00 AM. After that, my rate was changed from $3 to $42 without my permission. There was also a booking scheduled 3 hours after the trial class, and another one 3 hours after that. The lessons were canceled but still marked as paid. I hope you can help me.
I felt scammed by the platform; the information that appears in some teachers' profiles is false (for example, it says they speak a language when they are simply starting to study it, and it's not the "teacher" who puts it, it's the platform automatically) I tried with several teachers, and coincidentally, when I asked them to send the next steps according to my objectives, they all sent me exactly the same text, but none of them could complete it.... I do not recommend this platform to anyone,

Preply lacks accountability for child safety. My 8yo son was left sad and upset by the tutor’s remarks once. And the tutor insisted I leave the sessions, yet used inappropriate methods like unsupervised internet searches. When reported, Preply refused any corrective action, claiming they 'do not have recordings' to investigate. Their only solution was a subscription transfer to another tutor. It’s reckless to host kids' sessions without monitoring. They prioritize retention over child wellbeing.
In my experience this product is a scam. Tutors can cancel at the last minute, leaving you with no reasonable options to reschedule, unless you extend your subscription for more money.
terribly anticonsumer app. be aware. They force you into a subscription model based on leasons regardless to how many you can schedule in a month, no way to pause the purchase into viable time and you just find yourself trying to complete all the lessons that just pailled. if you try to refund you will have to cancel the current subscription which will cancel future leasons. this is a big problem as when you cacle, the lesson schedule will be captured by other and you will have to switch teacher
good software. But it does not care for its students. They are only interested in extracting money. Even if the teacher doesn't take class, students are made to pay for it.
These guys have policies everyone should know that are stealing. The first is that when you have a subscription with someone your classes are added to a balance that you need to schedule and there is a time limit to schedule these. If you are not able to schedule these because you don't have time that month or the times for your tutor don't work, you lose that time. The app steals your classes. They don't roll over. Second, if you use part of your class balance they won't refund the rest.

May I know why the mobile application is super slow?? You click on a button and it takes 15 sec to load. I tried the app on two different new android phones. Is it that hard to improve the speed? It's been like that for years.
