🌟Proton Drive is not working at all now, & hasn't worked for weeks! Damjan, the CS supervisor is unable to help, & seems to have withdrawn from even trying. The Live/Play version doesn't have the debug logs capability, & they're not going to put it in, telling me to dl the alpha version, which I won't do! So Proton won't provide me with any (G.Play) way to provide logs! 1 star until fixed! Edit: CS knows what the ticket # is already! Atm, Damjan is back on the case. But no solution yet.

Not really a good app for backing up your files as trying to backup files with this gives you so much inconvenience, if you upload a folder with a large size, it doesn't finish uploading it, it just gets stuck there not finishing the upload also, there's no option to cancel it, if you ever want to re-upload the files because the app DOESN'T do its job, you have no option. There's so much inconveniences also, their servers are SUPER slow, you can't even open an image without waiting a long time.
automatic backups only work if app is opened and refreshed manually. tried various fixes
Why would I resubscribe to something that doesn't work.
6/24/26 2.5yrs later still broken. does not have: Keyword Search or Select All. Photo backup - wont sync custom organized folder heirarchies from device. These should be mirrored on pDrive. - not Synced: after "backup", files must be manually deleted on both ends.
still not great again. uploaded 20 gigs of photos, 1000s of pictures,from phone, PC app only shows less than a gig and may 59 pictures where did they go. I don't trust this app or company at all. also only loads photos after a phone restart, but then loads them to where? what a joke? I don't think it's funny
The only thing this service is good for is backing up files. Forget about trying to actually browse them because even if you download the files to your local system (which you have to do one at a time), you can't download a folder. The damn thing doesn't show you a thumbnail meaning if you have a hundred images in a folder, you can't see a thing. This is why I use a third party for image backup and viewing as PD is garbage
I canceled it since it keeps on restarting the beginning everytime whenever I upload a file when the display is always on and is very slow when my wifi is near fiber speeds. Proton drive is still too slow with my home wifi with 940 mbps download and uploads speeds when uploading from an android phone with battery unrestricted is even enabled. Proton drive feels like dial up for uploading 50gb files. It's like watching paint dry.

can't believe that public photo album sharing still doesn't work after a year. meh.
thank god I just put a tester folder in this and nothing important 😭 I forgot my password once and now my files are gone and I have to do some esoteric ritual to get it back. there's no way I'll remember my old password. this key business doesn't seem to work at all? I was really hopeful that I found a Google drive alternative. but if I can lose access to my files that easily that's a no go for me
UI design style doesn't sync with other proton apps.

🇼 🇦 🇷 🇳 🇮 🇳 🇬 𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀. Extremely high risk of losing all your files. Every zip file you upload gets locked with a password they don't tell you. Mark this as useful so more people see it.
Unusable... I tried to upload a 60GB TAR file and the app crashed at 75% upload, when I opened it again the upload started from zero... I have a POCO X8 Pro Max with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and a pretty fast CPU, the app is 100% at fault here! I'll ask for a refund! Trust lost! Edit:They responded, while Google Drive app is buggy it never crashed on me for the same 60GB upload, and if we compare with another encrypted cloud, MEGA, the app never crashed on me for the same 60GB upload!

- cannot disable photo backup on roaming - file app has no search function - photos folder doesn't sync to macOS - shared folders don't sync to macOS - in general the app is unstable and buggy these are basic features. you can do better Proton!
Not tablet friendly on login screen (forces portrait orientation)
Photos in albums still show in the photos list and there's no way of hiding or archiving them. Extremely un-user-friendly. I have tens of thousands of photos and NEED to organise them, but this is useless for that as it's impossible to know what's waiting to be sorted into an album.

Wasted my time with this app. What is the point when I can't use it to preview or edit documents? This is not a replacement for Google docs. You people aren't serious. Proton products are just not that good. The only advantage is security and the money is turning out to not be worth it because the functionality isn't there.

3 buttons overlaying itself on the bottom, 2 wouldn't work, clicked the background button without being able to see what it was, NO I do not want automatic syncing!!!! The ONLY way to stop it was to revoke permissions & delete the random useless stuff it was uploading!! Now the dumb bottom won't go away to tell me there was an error, it's perma-there WON'T LET ME SHUT OFF SYNCING!!!!!! this app is JACKED. Also tried sharing a file, and wouldn't work. Buggyyyy & incomplete.
Love the company and the service they provide but disappointed with how buggy editing with Proton Docs is. Backspace only works half the time, clicking a suggested word on the keyboard takes your cursor to the beginning of the paragraph, and selecting either doesn’t work at all or a different part of the text gets selected. I'm excited to see how the product improves with future updates.

split drive and photos into two apps, we need a function to download all photos to the phone because the photo browser is sloooooooow as heck.
you have to manually delete the trash folder or it will eat up all your storage.
I can see why it has little less ratings compared to other proton apps. Can't upload individual pictures. It's forcing me to backup. I've 5TB of Google drive. I can't put a screenshot here. Try creating an album and uploading a photo manually.
Terrible search. No option to search on Android app
So, I LOVE the product's. I'm giving 2 stars because I need to get some attention on docs never opening in brave browser on Linux mint. I have disabled all shields. Nothing is running on the page to prevent the website from preventing any action. I'm stuck in a loop of "Do you want to allow this page to reload *Cancel* or *Reload*". Click cancel the page stops doing anything. Clicking reload = "Do you want to allow this page to reload *Cancel* or *Reload*". Infinitum. Response from devs = 5*s
