never worked properly even when using a professional service
I give it a 1 star for the following reasons 1. it doesn't capture all video, when someone walks to my front door, it starts recording when the person is already leaving and I have the fastest internet. 2. the video is grainy. they stole my son's car from the front of our house and we couldn't even see the people's faces or license plate. I guess we can check our home away from home. but wish it provided better clear and current camera feed. I am looking into Google cameras. hear they are better
worked for 4 days then quit and won't reconnect to the cameras.

So far it's trash. It records and notifies when myself or my wife walk down our pathway. i don't need security against myself. I don't need to be notified when I walk in or out of my house. I was there when it happened.

It deactivated my subscription with a debit card change (despite updating twice). Can't "upgrade" my account anymore. I will never buy amazon ring products again

The generation indoor is easily hacked for neighborhood theifs. I Payed for subscription security and all I got for safety camera was, burglers knowing how to trip the video footage, by the time I looked 2see who entered my home the video was showing "no footage found" and my home was burgled, also when I click on the app a voice shouts off through to people's home close, making the app stick on loading for 30+ seconds before I could watch the inside of my home.Total waste of money for the home
This ring really sucks, because half the time, it's not getting anybody that even walks by and I can't go back and see who's been here during the daytime while I'm at work.So tell me what's up with that.What good is it
Dont Bother, Use Wyze. After years of using Ring: Cameras stopped motion detection, door bell started literally peeling. We have updated our cameras every 2 years, each camera had an issue. Most recent issues that caused us to quit Ring all together: Faulty Cameras, Motion Detection non functional, or notifying with no motion in sight. The seal for outdoor Spot Light Cam didnt even stop a single drop. To replace a faulty camera is like fighting a car insurance claim, even if you have evidence.

This has got to be the stupidest app I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Just trying to set up my account has been a huge pain the rear. First, you can't use it with a VPN, then once I figured that out, because they don't tell you, I enter my phone number, correctly I might add, to get the text verification. Never received the code, waited for the timer to end, requested a code resend, and the app tells me I've requested too many codes. Stupid.
They removed the custom sound alerts between devices. Now a person at the front door sounds the same as opening the front door, etc...
It seems really counterintuitive that your stick up light cam enables its light everytime you go to live view it at night. Oh whats that you think you saw something in the cam preview? Too bad! We turned on the floodlight for you so now the ENTIRE picture is blown out of saturation and whatever you were looking at is now a shadow. Greeeaaaatt
Really poor app. Wants all your personal info, location / email etc - for a doorbell!! May be suitable if signing up for a plan? Connection to device seemed to go through same process several times before it finalised.

There is a long delay of multiple minutes before receiving a notification, if one is received at all. I've done all the usual troubleshooting. Videos are being recorded, so the issue is with the app. This must be fixed for this to be used as a security solution.

connection between the device and my phone is not working the way the service is described. the customer service does not address this when mentioned during the chats there's just uncooperative troubleshooting ideas that give cybersecurity risk.

Ring actively suppresses reporting of illegal activity, you should look elsewhere and not give them your money.

ring chime 2nd gen not connected for months. tried everything flashing blue says connected but app say always offline . open 2 advise tried many things. please help?
Not happy so far unless I manage to get the chimes to play on my Echo devices.
The devices often freeze, or go offline. The neighbors functionality is a waste. Real monitoring of your account is way to expensive, and they have nothing but a month long offering.

I pay an annual fee for the Ring doorbell and it doesnt capture activity properly missing lots of important movements and door rings.
If you don't pay for the monthly service which keeps going up almost every month, the cameras are completely useless. Live feed is extremely delayed and the alerts will be going off nonstop. If a bug or anything goes by except people. Your alerts will go off and this is done until you pay for their monthly service. For a company that's high on safety, this is strong arming people for sure. Better off getting cameras and setting them up with no monthly vig.
I'm not crazy about it. Because it repeatedly doesn't recognize me, nor my neighbors!(& not their property)!!
