App no is longer compatible with my phone. I suppose that they think that I should upgrade my phone, but I think that it worked once, and they chose to abandon me. That's kinda cheap of them. Well, they are apparently not too happy about this message, as they haven't revealed a "SEND" button. Perhaps it is because I'm just awarding a single star rate. I now shall upgrade them to a two star rating. Still no send button. I shall now try a 5 star rating. Nope! Back to a single star! send?
The 505x isn't the best option out there for it's price. I got it anyway because I didn't want to control it and my j7+ from different apps. During setup I found that the 505x requires this Roomba Home app and doesn't support the j7+ (and vice versa for the iRobot app). Now I have to decide between returning the sub par 505x or discarding the whole reason I bought it over a better one.
Considering the hardware, the robot itself is okay-perhaps a 4-star product. However, the app and its programming are terrible. The app absurdly uses feet for measurements instead of proper metric units. Furthermore, the robot does not wipe close to corners, even though it could in reverse. When stuck, it loses its memory entirely, and there are no options to send it home. Mopping is highly inconsistent, releasing too much water or none at all, leaving dirty spots. The AI mode fails to clean
make your app more user friendly. Stop hiding the play and pause buttons. On principle I should dump this and get another Shark.

Steer clear of these products, absolute scam level company.
why does it not reconnect on its own if internet drops? why does it need to connect to a cloud? why is it not fully charged when I need to use it? this company has been making vacs for years now and still can't get their top of the line\newest models working correctly. does anyone make a good product anymore?
The app often times feels unresponsive, smart maps are bugged, you also can't delete a room to correct the map made by the robot in 2026 why?
awful app and awful product. arrived today have had an s9 for 2 years this 705 is going back. app won't send instructions to machine, will work if I schedule a clean but otherwise options greyed out, cleared app multiple times still rubbish. tried 5 and 2.4 wifi neither fixed issue. 30 mins to speak to support. won't recognise a rug. this app is not an improvement over older app and the bot is definitely a step backwards from the s9+
I finally gave up and ordered a regular vacuum! Since the upgrade this app is totally useless. It keeps losing connection, and the process for recovering it is lengthy and insane. Why do they insist on breaking what isn't broken? The app worked perfectly before the upgrade. My automations no longer work, so the cleaning I had working during the night before are not getting done now unless I do them during the day when I can get connected and start them manually. Worthless!

Buyer beware: iRobot abandons older users. They launched this new app but ghosted their 'Classic' app support. My Roomba j7+ is locked out by a backend cloud bug (AWS AccessDenied error / broken obstacle reviews). Customer care has totally ignored my open ticket (Case: 11371280) for days to focus on this new listing. Don't buy into an ecosystem where your expensive hardware gets turned into e-waste the second they decide to spin up a new app page. Terrible long-term support.
trash app, trash robot, wish I never bought one.
Requires the wifi network to be super basic and won't allow for special characters making the entire process super insecure and easily cracked using kali Linux and a GPU.. since their robots are trash and only support wpa2. Fix your trash app and allow for 30-50 characters alphanumeric and special character passwords for your wifi. Literally even a 5$ smart lightbulb can connect with no issues, but a several hundred dollar vacuum can't connect to the network because "the password is too secure"
No matter how many times I run a cleaning program I edit this no more connection to robot a complete rip off. No tech support just more e-waste!

I've got 2 Roombas and my new third one requires this app. Not as easy to use as the original. There is no obvious way to get my new Roomba to start a new job. I already regret not trying a new brand
roomba 705 always has a problem with dirty water, it won't clean the roller, it didn't work properly for 2 days without being notified that it has a problem

is not reliable starts over sometimes, does not pick up all dirt overall not so good.
The app shows what the robot has done and scheduled to do. The vacuum does not always do what needs to be done.

awful experience. Roomba keep on disconnecting from wifi network and it takes approximately 10 reboots and connection attempts to get it back online. Network signal is strong and other appliances, including SONOS speakers are connected with no issues.
