This app is literally the worst tracking app to navigate that I have ever used. it is so clunky and lacks so many options. if you only eat rice and chicken, here is your tracker. otherwise, good luck correctly tracking.
Been a long time user since the paper templates. And I hate to give a 1 star review but the new app is just terrible. I've tried to use it with the beta and months after. I leave the 1 star review in hopes that they will make significant updates and listen to their users to correct the many flaws in the new app. The app is slow, there is no slider for food weight anymore, the rebalance food feature has never worked, the weekly recommendations frequently make zero sense, the text is tiny

cant use it if your over 350 why do you think I wanna use it to lose weight but if your ov r 350 it wont let you.
another paid app. need to subscribe even before finishing the question air. there are better free apps than this.
Perma-crash on tablet. Uninstalled.
$10 a month for a diet app, my fitness pal works better and it's free. I thought this included strength training, thanks for taking my money Dr.
Latest update destroyed years of hard work. Very disappointed. Update came mid cut. app kept recommending I increase my calories despite not losing weight. When raised with support, they said it was working as expected. Cancelled my subscription, diet suffered and gains were lost. I get the need for better meal.tracking in the update, but its clearly broken. others in the online community have raised the same issue.
i Really thought this was going to create a diet for me. the list of foods is very limited. creating a recipe doesn't exist. doesn't help unless your only eating generic food like bodybuilders, eggs chicken broccoli and want to check your macros. coming from MyFitnessPal app i see no purpose for me.
Poor function. Save you money (I'm working to get my refund, which if you downloaded through the app store, their website says requests must go through the app store, not them). I never had the old app, so I figured it would be easy to learn the new version. It IS simple to use, but the functionality is horrible. The scanner doesn't scan barcodes, and the manual information you do put in changes, i.e., macros are not as posted. I like the meal reminders and the tracking, but it needs fixing.
the new app is not user friendly. I tried twice. I wish we could opt for the old app.
just not worthwhile and monet
I used this app for years and loved it, the new updates are extremely confusing. going back to my fitness pal. I loved the way the rp app auto adjusted food volume to hit macros, now it's so confusing!!!
I wanted to try the app, but there is no free trial option. Once you sign up and fill in additional information, it then shows you the subscription options. I'd prefer not to pay for something I haven't had the chance to try. Even a one-week free trial would remedy this. Back to MyFitnessPal.
The app continues to be buggy. Swiping doesn't really work, saving meals isn't consistent. RP claims to be doing updates but they are really just experimenting with paid users. Really terrible app and I can't recommend this for anyone.
what happened RP? the update is terrible. is there a way we can go back to the old one? it freezes up. checking in meals is too much of a hassle. redistributing macros is not it.
New interface/update just doesn't work. This app is almost unusable. If i didn't pay for the year I would have uninstalled already. The "new" app is way too slow and freezes way too much.
Disastrous update- used to be a good app. Simple to use and made sense. With the most recent update, the app is barely usable, unduly complicated, and keeps hanging up. It's loaded with unnecessary bloatware. You can spend lot of time balancing the meals bcoz it'll keep counting food like cauliflower as a source of protein! Perfection is the enemy of good- and now it's outright bad. I'm stuck with it till the end of my subscription but will definitely be ditching it at that point.
The original version was user friendly. The new version is a nightmare!! And it keeps crashing 🤬🤬🤬
New update made the app significantly worse for the purpose I was using it for but I tried to use it since I, unfortunately, paid for a year upfront. I am not able to use the app though because it constantly freezes and/or crashes on me while trying to build out a meal. I have been unable to use the app because of this so I guess it's time to move on and take the hit of the couple months I have left in my subscription.
Notifications work but app keeps stopping and doesn't load after the October 5th update. I have cleared app data, uninstalled it several times but it still doesn't work. What's worse is that I can't even access it from my computer! Can I still get a refund?
Given your PhD was fraudulent, Mike, can I have my money back?
The recent UX overhaul ruined so much. The schedule opens to the wrong day. Macros and meal times aren't adjusted after adding a workout. Food lists are not grouped by macro so more scrolling and typing every time you add food. Lots of small low-contrast UI elements. The old version of the app was wonky but at least it consistently did what it intended. The new version is buggier and more annoying to use. RP didn't even give users a chance to preview the new UI. Just forced it onto everyone.
pretty disappointed in the update. I know it can't be perfect, but the update broke fundamental features. for example, adding a workout to my day (I usually add per day instead of configuring a weekly schedule) the app no longer adjusts my meal times or my meal macros. I also haven't been able to get the workout shake to get added, toggling the option has no effect on the macros. adding food and checking in a meal ate even more annoying than it used to be.
Had this app for 4 years and loved it, it made counting macros easy and always helped reach my goals. The updated version is terrible. The same exact foods are way off from the original app and the ability to match the macros and calories are nearly impossible. Either it was inaccurate initially or more likely the update made it so. Canceled subscription and switched to macro factor which is great!!
I was a faithful user of this app for several years and had tremendous success with weight loss using it. However the new update is kind of a nightmare. It's extremely difficult to manipulate food amounts to hit target macros. The old app allowed you to add your macros individually but the new one combines everything which is confusing. I gave the new app a shot for 2 weeks but decided it's not worth the frustrations. I'll probably not be renewing and deleting the app all together :/
I'm just trying to start using the app to gain weight because I'm naturally underweight. THE WHOLE POINT IS THAT IM UNDER WEIGHT, OK? So anyway, I'm trying to imput my gender weight and height....and it won't let me put my true weight and height. it says my weight is under the correct bmi for my height...WHY DO YOU THINK IM TRYING TO GAIN WEIGHT???so now I can't start using the app bc to make it happy, I already have to lie about my weight. So now I can't use it properly for myself!? please fix?
I don't know what's going on here, but this thing barely works as a tracker/log; macros and calories are inaccurate for every food I tried, they don't add up within meals let alone over a day, and it's cumbersome to get your daily targets to adjust given what you actually ate for no real reason. All of this makes the more advanced features we all came here for, like automatic calorie adjustment to fit goals, very suspect. Definitely use a better app and work out adjustments in a spreadsheet.
used and loved the app for 4-5 years. I absolutely hate the new update. I just tried setting up next week, after entering all my info, it tell me the calories don't match and I need to make adjustments. I was not counting calories, just macros. I don't mind counting the calories if it is going to help, but how am I supposed to know how many calories I am supposed to ingest next week?
new update 👎🏻
This app was great, until this terrible unannounced update. The UI is much worse, and things like meal check-ins are more difficult to complete. Meals in my current diet had foods deleted in the update, seemingly because they updated their food database. When going to redo things, it became clear that macro values for a lot of foods were either incorrect before, or they're incorrect now - using the same values I had set before the update put my calories and macros way off. Will not be renewing.
The update is horrible. i have stopped using the app because of it. not user-friendly anymore. please change it or go back to the other version before i get fat again. I need to use the app!!!
This app used to be great. After the update it sucks, not intuitive and I'm not gonna renew my subscription.
was good until update. the app became too difficult to use. sometimes my eyes hurt just looking at the screen trying to figure it out.
I'm sorry, but I hate the new version of this app. The reason I loved RP was the fact that it made macros so much easier than all the other apps out there. The fact that "fats" counted only fats and carbs, and that "carbs" counted only carbs was a huge win for me. No going back and readjusting an entire meal because I added a carb-based ingredient that had protein in it and messed up my protein total. The ease of navigating is gone too. Now it's just a glorified version of My Fitness Pal. ☹️
Crashes after I put in all of my information and it starts to formulate a plan. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didn't work.
the app was good! able to track food, progress and add foods from stores. now there's an update and it sucks!!! terrible visuals, not intuitive, switched from macro based tracking to calorie based tracking, foods don't add up right on sum of totals, checking in on meals is wonky, and it won't let you progress a week unless you put you were exactly at your planned calories! dude, why did you make it terrible! absolutely going to cancel my subscription
Amazing until I was updated to the new version without my knowledge. "New and Improved" version is buggy and got rid of some important features like being able to modify macros for all meals on a single screen. Moving remaining macros between meals is now a hassle and cannot be done directly, they must firt be moved through a "daily balance" first, very inconvenient. I'm disappointed in this latest update to say the least and will not be renewing my subscription unless this is fixed.
The new update is so slow. Almost unusable. I'll select a meal and about a minute later it'll open up and let me add stuff to it.
Love RP videos. Didn"t like the APP. Not friendly and super complicate.
the app advertised integration with smart devices (scales, watches etc), yet there is no such option. upon further investigation, it said healthkit, and this is obviously an android store. extremely misleading and everything was behind a paywall without a simple one day trial. edit: Healthkit is for apple devices.
I try to cancel my subscription but when I click Subscriptions, it say URL not found
If the first page of an app is forcing you to sign up, you are the product (collecting your data, in a probably poorly designed environment that will eventually leak said data). Just installing kicked off multiple attempts to collect data.
i liked the old version. it was easier to navigate.
I hate the update, it's slower, and editing your daily schedule is difficult as in as soon as you nake changes it has a lot of lag and delay and jumps around. honestly, I want my money back as much as this app cost this is ridiculous.
I'll give it to you straight: you have to subscribe in order to even see the app content. there's no free trial or anything. And unfortunately you will only learn this after inputting all your info during acc creation. Kind of a big bummer! Although classified as an "in-app purchase", this is more like a subscription based app.
I miss the old app. like a lot of people( most just don't admit it) I stepped away from the diet for a little bit. but decided to get back on this app. I really miss the user interface of the old app. creating a meal was super easy and intuitive. not on this. it's very difficult to learn. it's not intuitive. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD LAYOUT. this is difficult to learn while cooking and multitasking. I gave to on it
RP has a great foundation, but it’s currently missing the mark on user experience. The lack of a synced desktop version is a huge oversight; making adjustments and logging meals is far more efficient on a PC than a phone. There are also basic clarity issues: the UI contains icons that are hard to decipher, the FAQ is lacking, and tracking daily calorie totals is surprisingly unintuitive. I came to RP to avoid the clutter and frustrations of MyFitnessPal
I loved the old version of the app but it seems like RP has basically abandoned their actual diet philosophy to make this more similar to popular apps like myfitnesspal & macrofactor. You don't build meals protein first any more, protein in fruit and bread now counts toward protein total, and they lost what I found was innovative and anti-perfectionist in their old app: the "on target" or "over macros" logging and giving you an adherence percentage. Now it just tracks CICO like every other app.
Definitely NOT beginner friendly. I've used tracking apps before but it's been a while. I tried watching tutorials, I messed around with the app and failed my diet. I feel it's hard to plan meals on this app. They finally added calorie counts, which seems kinda like a no brainer. I think this app will work fine for someone who already knows how to meal prep and has their meals planned out. I didn't find the UI friendly and don't have time to learn. I also havent been able to cancel, it times out
