updated review, 1st it wouldnt send invoices directly (but didn't tell me, I had customers asking when I was going to invoice them) then the app crashed. 2 weeks later when fixed i started sending invoices via a link, only to be contacted by customers telling me the link had expired (some the same day). To top it all off its sages only app without customer support, using the community hub is absolutely useless. is it still run by the chuckle brothers ?

Useless. Don't bother unless you like receiving threatening emails from this company about contacting debt collection agencies. Set up a (free?) subscription through google Play to try app. Payment allegedly failed (other apps working fine). No invoice sent. No subscription recorded in google Play settings. No way to change payment details in App or in Play even if I wanted to. Ridiculous. How can this app be trusted to interact with HMRC on my behalf with this behaviour?
Gets stuck on doing a transaction. Tried to do it again and it duplicated it. Useless.
Developer has sorted out the previous issue of the app always logging me out, but now I've had to reconnect my business current account and credit card and the app is not pulling in the transactions. Checked their website, they now only allow you one account to be linked on the free plan, and want you to pay £7 a month to add another account. Why would I pay that when they can't even get the basic app to work! mandated by the government to pay for an app that doesn't work and I didn't need.
I've used the sole trader MTD software for a month and instantly noticed a problem with it. The income didn't match up with what I had actually taken. After contacting Sage they were initially very helpful in trying to resolve the issue. I was informed that there was a known bug with transactions being duplicated but there was no way of removing them. They said that some one from the software team would reset my account but to no avail. Make sure if you use this app to check your income.
Can't scan receipts with this limited version. That's my main reason for downloading it.
Was all going swimmingly until it asked me to enter my bank details. Not on their list! No obvious way to contact them to get help either.
UPDATE: MAY 2026 actually changed to 1 star its got worse have to login all the time niw and still large delays transactions, think its time to go use a different app don’t know if its the free versions but have to keep login as errors come up and also seems to take 2 to 3 days for any transactions to show up thats a pain im sure they will reply with some excuses good job ive not used paid for option just be awear if testing it out
Started out OK. Now I can't email invoices. Also no way of knowing if an invoice has actually been sent. Thanks to the app I've now missed the end of month invoicing round so won't get paid for another month, I'll be leaning hard on the credit card. Help is non existent, reliant on the wonders of AI. Wish I'd chosen a different platform for my business.
does not link my bank account, I've tried so many times and no luck and can not find a simple way of doing this, not user friendly

awful now, I can't see how much tax I owe, it's seems locked behind some stupid "create a transaction to unlock your business tracker" seriously you had a decent app why have you made it so complicated!
Logging in is a real faff
Does not let me login. No code sent to my inbox or spam box. So will get Make Tax Digital software elseware

pretty useless app when registration screen wont accept postcodes.
not letting me set up my payment for subscription and has now blocked me from using until I set it up again but keeps declining payment setup
login error with the spanner all the time, logout, try to login send SMS, repeat, needs sorted asap adding cash jobs, click save, the log disappears. has it been logged, hasn't it? MTD started off well with one or 2 transaction now getting into the tax year i can see nothing but problems on the horizon. somewhat confusing for the less able computer folks out there. 😬
have to pay for cis and it's not out till end of April

why so difficult to setup
from my experience, invoicing doesnt work as it should, doesnt save invoices and invoices go missing... the software isnt very adaptable or accesible, when trying to add things to the app like logos or templates, the app says unable to upload without any reason, making it hard to find a solution to these bugs. however the app itself is designed nicely and i think with a bit more time itll be a leader when MTD comes around, but for now its lacking vital components.
