super slow takes forever to open
freezing most of the time. launching is a nightmare

Calling all Android users: just use the website interface! It's superior to the junk app. It's a poor port of an iOS app. Seriously, I have argued with their devs. Conclusion? Ultimately they don't care about the Android platform. 2nd REPLY TO HEEHAW PERSON: I have made suggestions and argued to improve with devs via web form and email. Last time they said they will no longer respond to me. Are you saying that they now will?

[March 2026 - 6 years of inaction. At least I can stop using it in 2028 because both kids will be in high school] I am flabbergasted that it STILL doesn't use the Android back button! EVERY OTHER APP I HAVE DOES! Please, this app is such a pain to use because of this(in addition to other issues like zooming on photos) this should be a basic feature that should have been there from the start. Do not tell me to contact support; just pass this on please and let users know you're going to add it.
Not user friendly to navigate, pretty useless
I cannot stand how convoluted the desperate parts of this app are bolted together in a "we never planned any of this out" way. "Messages" are tucked into the top corner and don't even open when clicking thru from a notification. The phone's "back" button doesn't register, allowing the user to go back to the message list after reading. It's difficult to tell who your reply is going to send to and could publicly broadcast to an unintended audience. The app feels like one big afterthought.
Since buying a new phone, I'm only able to see 3 posts on the journal at a time. I'm a teacher using this app and need to be able to see all of my posts. Please help. My name is NOT Emily.
it doesn't let you wrote to the teacher personally what happens if I need to speak to the teacher privately it use to but now they have put some kind of block on it so we cant

Worst school app. Not intuitive, hard to interact with. Hard to keep track of your child. Always messes up each year when they transition to a new class. Notification settings always disable themselves so you miss out on notices. It's just terrible all round and I urge you if your a school, to use something else. I know I'll be bringing it up with my school board.
this app is forever logging us out, seems to have an issue with allowing multiple users on a family account.
constantly get a message saying the app is unsupported and to download the new app - which isn't anywhere on Google Store! frustrating

it is a horrible app, deletes itself from my phone, is logging me out constantly and when logging back in everything is gone. the school doesn't care, so I guess my son is going without any homework
One of the worst apps ever developed. I don't know what trick they use to convince schools to use this app. Utterly useless.

Absolute dribble
the app experience is just terrible. it allows you 5 minutes of recording, where the homework for over 6 or 7 minutes. if you hit record again it delets your previous works. if the app goes to sleep while your child is working all your work gone. The zoom function just doesn't work, pen sensitivity is all over the walk. I've started to print the pages and record the homework separately and emailing them to the teacher, since the upload function just delete everything anyway.

absolutely awful app, keeps telling me it needs to be updated. I do it and it shows again. nothing comes through notifications its all in all awful app!
I'm not a fan of the app, the whole layout is just confusing and a lot of it doesn't make sense. the instructions don't tell you anything about the work. If you accidentally select the submit button you can't go back and edit it you have to ask the teacher to resend it. when you view photos it should be in an album style not go through every individual photo to find the one your looking for. I miss the old paper homework this is just rubbish. I hope schools don't pay good money for this.
privacy nightmare. I hate that schools force us to use these insecure apps and then upload pictures of our children on them to be consumed by facial processing. the panopticon starts at daycare.
Lucky to get one star , UI is clunky doesn't work on back, parents should be able to comment on their child alone without it being 'ok'd' by admin only to share to everyone. I get what the app is about but it could be used in more functional way with 1 way class photos to be uploaded, 1 way msg are recieved, an easy way to save pic to phone or share with family members without having to screenshot then send All in all you're an educational assistant for teachers n parents why is the standard low

Following latest Oct 2025 update, can't 'view original' for full page printing.. VERY BAD
Horrible app. Only sends notifications to numbers from the US or Canada. Back clicking doesn't work. I keep missing important things because god forbid I am a busy mom who forgets to check this app every single day. Zooming is bad, layout is bad. I have seen much better school apps and I hate that my kids' school makes me use this app.
No implementation of universal back button/gesture. App just about does the job, but is unrefined. Feels like a poor ios port from 10 years ago. I'm not raising this with support as I dont require support. Just pass this on to the dev team that they need to pick up a phone and compare with almost any other app.
bad I hate it
not worked at all for over a year now teachers got me logged in properly but now still nothing and wont let me put in english phone number so cant even receive notifications, useless app and cant get help to fix it so missing out on my daughters schooling

I'm not a fan of the newly updated version of Seesaw. It was more user friendly until recently.
My two main complaints are a) that the internal app notifications don't exist properly: if I have a new message there should be a notification on the message icon but there isn't and b) it doesn't implement the android back button to replicate normal 'back' functions, so you have to use back buttons on a completely different part of the screen, against android guidelines.

One issue I’ve noticed is the back button doesn’t function at all on Galaxy phones when navigating through the app. For us Samsung users who depend on the system back button, this makes moving between pages feel quite clunky and less intuitive. Fixing this small navigation issue would make the experience much smoother for many of us who use Seesaw every day. Thanks for considering looking into this issue!

Other issues: As a primary teacher in a low tech school, I'm frequently uploading a photo for each child and tagging them, there is no way to do this in a batch. It's super time consuming. I have to make an individual upload for each child and copy and paste the caption. Using the assignment feature doesn't make it any quicker or easier either.
why is it this year out of all the other years I can only react to things in messages and can't react to photos or posts on the feed?
my child gets set homework on this app, but it buggy when using and so keep loosing work and kid gets upset. I ended up using image toolbox which is free and works better to creat and just use seesaw for submitting.
keep getting notifications that something has been updated, but no way to know what when you go into the app. easy to miss messages not setup for android... the back button dos nothing meaning you have to press the "X" on the top left of the screen (bad for one hand use) when going through pics, the arrow icon keeps moving depending on the resolution the pic. needs to just be in one spot.
It doesn't let me watch the video, zoom the images and download anything shared by our teachers. Very glitchy app.
