Every 1-2★ review we fetched. Use the copy button to grab them all for your own analysis (paste into ChatGPT/Claude with a prompt like "summarize core user problems, group by theme, ignore bugs, focus on missing features").
Decided to give it a go, and I had some ground beef in the fridge, so I tried that. No search results. Tried mince instead as it's a british app. No search results. Looked up what ground beef is called in England and tried several variations - nothing. The best I can search for is 'beef' which - entirely unsurprisingly - brings up a TON of useless results. For what a common ingredient it is, it's a real fast 'no' to paying for a recipe app when *that* doesn't work.

Love it, it's so useful to be able to have the bulk of your shopping planned out and not have any wastage, even as a single person just cooking one meal for two nights doesn't get boring when there are so many options
We love sorted and have, until today, loved Sidekick. Unfortunately the newest update broke the app and we are unable to use it at all. Nothing is loading other than the home page, including any/all recipes. I hope this gets fixed soon so we don't have to cancel our subscription!
Updates seem to have been more like downgrades. I just timed it, and it literally took 90 seconds to open a single recipe. it makes the actual meal browsing and planning a painful and impossible experience. Disappointing, because I resubbed after a few years of not being subbed, and the app has really degraded in that time. I can't really weigh in on the quality of the recipes because I don't have an hour to wait for recipes to load so I can decide what I want to cook. I want my money back.
Wonderful update: you can no longer read methods for recipes you have planned. Have you tested it at all?
what the hell you made me update and it removed the recipes I have the ingredients for in the fridge I love this app for many reasons but this takes the piss i cant find the recipe pack i still have 2 meals to cook for and my history is empty except like 2 packs I cooked months ago. I should be eating now but been spending 30mins to find the instructions... I will be ending my subscription
Samsung A55, and each page is showing larger than the phone's screen. Words are missing, 'cause they're off the side of the screen, left*and* right hand edges. App is useless in it's current configuration

Love the youtube channel so I really wanted to like this app. Entered Vegan and was immediately met with mostly meat and fish with a few veggie options. After 5 minutes of searching I gave up on finding anything that was actually vegan. If you don't cater to vegans, don't put it as an option.
Simply doesn't work at all, cannot get past the initial splash screen after selecting preferences. A shame since I quite like the channel and am sure the app has good uses but I am unable to access anything whatsoever. A problem so basic should not go unrectified for so long in any scenario. It cannot be too difficult to debug why the app simply won't launch on such a large selection of devices.
Update: I've used the app for a bout a month now and its been great, I prefer this to take aways. however there are things that are severely lacking: 1. The order you do things and qtys used should be tested before being added to that app. its clear there is no testing 4 recipes have been wrong in a month so far. 2. where's the value prop for the family account? its double the price for what the ability to share a shopping list its not worth double. there are others but have ran out of charac

Preferences were disregarded and the dish offered for my 1 free trial contained pretty much everything I listed as disliking. Signed out and uninstalled. I'll watch you on youtube, but I will not fund Ebber's gadget obsession.

been on this app ages and a fan but latest redesign seems to have made things less slick, it's harder to just add a pack and go. It doesn't show me the latest recipes without digging and when I do find them I need to click into a lot of menus to get what used to be a single big plus button on the home screen, please bring that simplicity back
the app has been a game changer but the most recent update took this 5 star to a 2. it barely loads half of the time and when it does load it loads at such a pace that it is unusable. this most recent update may have killed my sidekick.
every update and facelift takes away one of the apps best features. it's simplicity. the meals are great, but the app keeps getting more cluttered and more awkward to use.
Although we enjoy the food the support for accounts is slow, and frequently needed. Taking three or more business days to get any response or resolution. All the while being unable to use the app at all. We have also experianced our request for assistance stating it is waiting on action from us despite not having been contacted by anyone yet.
I really wanted to like this app, but it just didn't do what I expected. I thought that one of the main goals was to reduce food waste, but so many of the packs either use odd amounts of ingredients (less than a package or piece), or don't repeat the ingredients enough to use them up. As an example, one of the packs I tried had a whole fennel to use in a salad that goes inside 2 sandwiches, and no other fennel containing recipes. I ended up with a huge mixing bowl full of leftover cut fennel!
Not for people who know how to cook. App is clearly made for amateur cooks, you will be disappointed if you're an experienced cook, recipes lack flavour, seasoning and creativity. Lots of combinations that are weird at best and don't work at all at worst. The UI is unwieldly too. Can't just look at a whole recipe, have to click through various steps. If you don't know what you're doing and don't mind a clunky interface this might be useful but there are much better options out there!
