The prices in the app are MUCH higher than the online equivalent! for example: basic insurance - online = 3.56$, app = 18.29$ total deal - online = 795$, app = 1001$ Delete immediately
Damage claim despite clear evidence of third-party fault - not recommended. I rented a Sixt share car in Munich in April 2026, parked it undamaged and ended the rental via the App. One day later I received a 950 € damage invoice for a broken mirror. On Sixt's own photos there is a note from the real culprit with apology and contact details. My written objection was ignored, instead I got a payment reminder.
very limited pickup cities
I strongly do NOT recommend using Sixt. I booked a specific car in advance (Audi Sportback), but it wasn’t available. Instead, they tried to push a cargo Ford van, which was completely inappropriate for my reservation. Additionally, they refused payment via Revolut, even though I had confirmed it was accepted beforehand. As a result, I then went to a company just 5 minutes away on foot - ADA.fr - and easily booked a fantastic car there. Therefore, I recommend going straight to ADA.f
They DON'T service Buffalo International Airport
Prepaid for car rental. Changed rental from 5 days to 4, but got no refund. Was asked to sign on the screen after rejecting any add-ons. Was then charged an additional $47 for roadside assistance I said I didn't want. Sixt's response was "You signed, so tough luck". Can't trust them and won't use them again.
No support for payment processing issues
The app itself was great. Traveled to the pick up location and they told me I needed a credit card and utility bill that matched my new address. I haven't had a chance to change my driver's license. None of this was stated in documents that were needed while booking. I had already prepaid for the rental with a debit card. Prepayment shouldn't be a thing if required documentation showing address is needed. Called customer service and they are going to refund the $200 I had spent.

horrible. the cars started out at 32 per day. the more I searched the higher the price got. All of a sudden the cheapest car was 40 then 57. Horrible.
The app was so misleading. I did everything online including the payment and verification. But when I got to the location, they said that the payment that I used was not accepted and that if I used a different one I needed 2 utility bills and that they didn't accept a long list of debit cards but accept debt cards, it was a disaster. Iwould not recommend it all.

1st time renting from SIXT. overall experience was great, the hidden fees weren't. We rented from them based on the best deal. Unfortunately, for this reason, I wont consider sixt in the future.
Rented a Transporter for a day and was charged with 10 damages to the car and not filling up the gasoline. Luckily I could prove my innocence with videos and bills. But it was damn annoying and pretty outrageous.
