Echo devices now have an issue connecting to devices through this app since the most recent update in June '26. I rarely had a problem with this app in the past using my Echo devices to control the AC units in my house, but after the most recent update, my echo devices will report that they try to give a command to a device and it isn't responding. Sometimes the device will respond, but only after an approximately 30 second delay. Nothing has changed on my network.
I can't even create an account. Keep getting an error message.

Doesn't work
It worked fine and then suddenly the app says the appliance is off, even when I'm standing next to it and it's on. Won't let me turn it off or on. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Disconnected the appliance and reconnected it. Nothing worked.
app never seems to work...useless
this app worked a lot better 2 years ago. Now it just keeps crashing you need to update this app.

Update the app now it doesn't work totally useless network errors cannot talk to anything totally useless great job at killing a good app. now the app takes 1 minute to load and 15 seconds to talk to AC to change settings going to by A LG their app always works
a ridiculously painful process and I'm yet to determine it's value.

Terrible app just like your appliances. freezes crashes and is unresponsive all the time. worthless.
Directions for adding my GE oven are wrong, but I finally figured it out. I don't mind connecting via blue tooth but I do NOT want this on my home network as there is no way I trust that the network security of my oven. I am able to start the registration using just the model number and serial but then it automatically tries to put it on my home network with no way to stop it other than canceling registration.
you've made it so difficult to connect the ac to wifi.
Keeps losing the oven, losing the presets, has too many ads, and poor user interface.
impossible to connect. gets stuck in update mode for days at a time until you disconnect the whole thing and start over. cant believe i paid $1000 for this.
so many glitches and crashes all the time. when you try to sign in because it signed you out is gives you an error page. ridiculous would never recommend!
This App is a Dog with Fleas. It will not find my AT&T wifi network so I can't connect to my washing machine. The app is also slow and riddled with inane advertising. Do better GE.

doesn't work for anything but the current years models, app requires a full invasive registration with all of your personal information including your address all stored sent over unsecured means as well as phone number. They are selling this to make even more off you. Disgusting spyware company who can't even be bothered to make a working app.

App doesn't work reliably. If you're washer disconnects from it. It will not wash properly. I deleted and re tried this. Now it won't fully connect to the washer. Very dissatisfied.
Can't connect to brand new F&P dryer, iPhone version doesn't work either
Unreliable and riddled with ads for "GE's recommended detergent". I want to use this app to view my washing machine's status, not order detergent at a 5% discount. I've already paid for your appliances-- don't insult me by incessantly trying to squeeze even more money out of my wallet every time I open your app.
software is always updating but never completes
when it works it's great. But then again when does it work? Seriously, asking for a friend! Come on GE do better🤨

App requires Bluetooth for WiFi only items, if refuse connection app will not work. app will not delete old networks. app will not connect to new network. app deleted air conditioner it used earlier in day and will not re-add because unable to find network. app then thinks the wifi is on unit and won't move past screen.( used last two years no issue)
won't stay connected, cant get it connected anymore at all its pointless.
cannot connect my AC to the app. it says to enter in the network ID and password listed on the device, but it doesn't actually have that. then when I click the button to enter in the upd id, the app crashes.

The app is making my AC lag terribly. I have the temp setting on 68°. Its up to 75° and it wont communicate to the AC unless I force a refresh by selecting a different temp to force communication between the app and the unit. Find a better company to code your app.
I can't stand this app, I constantly have issues with it. I usually open the app to turn on my AC before I get home, and it never loads. If it does load, my AC unit never shows up under the "my appliances" tab. I have logged out and logged back in NUMEROUS times to no avail. I have cleared the cache numerous times. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times. NOTHING works. This app is awful.
App gives black screen. cannot connect to devices.
Impossible to connect. App doesn't allow to put numbers in the SSID. My ids last digits are FD12....! Now I'm trying to press the "add appliance" again and the screen goes black. Even after reset. Really annoying for the price we paid for this oven we should be able to use the bells and whistles easily.
The SmartHQ app is quite frustrating to use and far from user-friendly. Once Remote Mode is enabled, there is no option to manually change or adjust the cycle settings, which significantly limits flexibility. On top of that, when a cycle finishes while operating in Remote Mode, the app automatically disables Remote Mode. This means you have to manually re-enable it every time before starting another cycle remotely. These limitations make the app inconvenient and diminish the benefits of having
tldr: This app is worthless. I would not install it unless there is an Updated. year is 2026, this app has the worst initialization and configuration process ever. ever. It is an air conditioner. it should have a one-click connection option and I should not have to jump through so many hoops to connect to an app that is essentially harvesting my personal data and information. Make the app work so I don't have to. Do better GE. useless app. still not connected
in a power failure this app loses all data saved for everything you have worked so hard to get the app to recognize. Every time you must re-do it all. APP SUCKS !

Why do I need an application to make ice? After doing every physical fix I knew how. Tried calling support and dealing with the callbot only to be forwarded after ten minutes of deliberation onto a person who said I needed to install this application to update the software on my Opal 2.0. I did so, had to call back because the app didn't explain the device has to be off to be updated. Another 20 minute call and reconnecting to my device, it finally updates and works.

it won't show me my air conditioner in the App. I know it is linked to my Google home but I want to use the app it comes with for the more detailed settings that it uses to show me but this app tells me I have no appliances even though it is set up and working through Google Home and I started the setup in this app
