Wow, this app is trash. It's even worse in the web browser. It doesn't connect about 25% of the time. We've been using it about 2 months at my work. Absolutely will keep me from buying my own Sonos system. it forces me to link my Spotify every day at least 2x. Otherwise it'll play ads and won't let you choose the songs or order they play in. The search feature is also disappointing. Till this is fixed I will recommend avoiding Sonos.
constant connection issues, particularly with Sonos radio. any time we have a power outage we have to fully clear the system and reconnect it all to get it working again. when it works it's ok, but there are many, many issues
since updating the app, I am unable to connect to my system and play any music. I tried logging out and back in and it is still unable to load
Sonos kinda sucks.
can't connect from pixel 9 via cast or Bluetooth unlike airplay.
Horrible in every possible way. App is worst part of Sonos. Now using music assistant (with HA but you don't have to). If it wasn't for Music Assistant I would be going to Bose.

May 2026 and Sonos are now forcing updates on us. They aren't getting any better. This just keeps getting worse. April 2025 and now My Library insists on playing albums in random order. Worse than useless. After the May 2024 my music has disappeared. Sucks. Requires an account to connect to your system. No reason for this (from a user's point of view,) totally unnecessary.
it forced me to update. I spend about 45 minutes every couple of weeks having to reconnect. Such a pain. Tonight, it let me downgrade to Version 1. Let's hope the OG doesn't forget my speaker all the time.

Excellent hardware, terrible software.
I own a stationary sonos speaker with a lamp. Here are the issues: -I can't simply use my sonos speaker like a normal bluetooth speaker, i need to use the sonos app through my wifi. -I use youtube music with a premium account, so i connected it to sonos but since i have a brand account it just doesn't work at all. So basically i can't use my sonos speakers to listen to any of my playlists in any way, shape or form. Also the entire setup process made me want to puke, its just horrible!
how is this so bad AGAIN!!!!!
2 years later, app is still terrible and doesn't play the song you tap on. I'm phasing Sonos speakers out of my environment. Whoever is running this company on the tech side is doing an absolutely terrible job.

Better but still flawed. Often requires force stop and sometimes that doesn't work and need to physically pause speakers and restart to control from app.
unconnected all my speakers and won't connect again. spent 10k on sound system that is nothing but head aches.
Stupid app
this app is still a nightmare. now it won't connect ny phone to my speaker, which was connected for many, many months. not buying any more of these speakers.
Genuinely WHY is it so difficult to connect my era 100s to my system. The app is completely broken and I tried EVERYTHING Sonos suggests to fix it. The fact that their troubleshooting steps are even as extensive as they are should be a signal to Sonos that they need to make some fundamental changes to the discovery and connection protocols and systems they use. It is a complete joke that such expensive equipment is fundamentally broken. Sonos is TRASH.
the connection drops out around once a week or more which is annoying. Google Play interface which is all I really want to use, is so much worse than the actual Google app I have to use that and Bluetooth. I feel a bit ripped off Tbh.
Love the Sonos products but the Apps the worst. if i could rate it a Zero i would. It's almost impossible to use, no!! it's actually impossible to use. it's f...ked!!!and because you need the app to get it to work .. i would advise everyone to stay away from these rubbish products. absolute garbage
For the life of me I cannot understand how badly this app behaves on my phone. My phone isnt old. My software and app are up to date. Every single day my speakers are disconnected and I have to add them again. Every. Single. Day. This is absurd. What kind of a bug is that? How negligent does a PM and dev team have to be to allow for such a bug to exist? Because I am not naive, I know they prioritize iphone and let this **** go around with android. I would return these speakers if I could.
Too many features removed, I have reverted to the old app. Edit: since the April 2026 updates the volume on random speakers will jump to 100% so far this has only happened when the speaker is not playing. Another issue is that random speakers will also suddenly show Airplay at 100% volume when I have no Apple devices in the house. Sonos still have some work to do with this app
Still 1 star, compared to how it was nearly three years ago. Pandora support is still limited (can't thumbs up or down anymore), the ability to edit queues while they're playing is limited (no way to remove songs), there are often glitches that stop songs in the middle of playing for no clear reason, and it sometimes just plain loses connection to Spotify for no reason.
Great hardware, terrible software. I have an arc and a few speakers. I want music to play out of 3 of them. Sometimes all 3 play, often only 1 plays, sometimes 2. It will swap which ones are playing audio whenever it feels like it. When I try to fix it, I get "Something went wrong". It's such an unreliable system and that's an absolute shame.

Slow and unreliable. Bring back the old architecture when it "just worked". I can't even login to my account anymore because it defaults to the gmail associated with the phone. And I can't change the email of that account because now I already have a (new) account with the gmail, which I can't delete.
Always new disappointments. Freezes, inconpatiblities, devices stranded by upgrades. Why bother?

What everyone else is saying, its a nightmare app! constantly saying not connected. No system detected. What's the point of having the app? Deleted it. I won't be purchasing anymore Sonos products too complicated to use.
hell. please sonos, please make your app even more functional. i do want a stupid login just to use my freakin bloody speaker. one would thing that usable as ease of functionality would be paramount for return business. as an app developer myself, this stupid app breaks all the rules as easy streamline.

Been ok for a few months. but since last update march April 26 one speaker in my sl 1 stereo pair keeps dropping out have reset updated tried everything it's even changed which speaker drops out nothing else has changed same router for three years thought they had fixed everything
I continuously update my 1 star review. users, just know turning on your speakers and having to go through factory resetting your product every time you use it will suck the joy out of you. and you will think they will eventually fix the bugs, but you will continuously be disappointed. congrats on your $1k paper weight. update on the new app update: still hot garbage. thanks.
Gave away half my system, sold the other half. Nobody wants my Roam. Of course it stops working 2 years after and can't add to system again. Bluetooth only I guess. To hell with this.... Don't buy SONOS. The app, you don't own your stuff, too expensive. Frankly terrible. Buy real, normal speakers and add smart functionality to them (WiiM is alright). If the "smart functionality" provider screws you over in the future you can toss the "smart box" and keep the speakers. You'll be much happier :)

Worst product ever. I wanna play music, cannot connect. Never ever.
SoundCloud does NOT work. Everytime I try to play SoundCloud tracks, I get an error that it's not encoded properly. It will then skip to the next track for 5-10 songs, displaying the not encoded error before stopping. I unlinked and relinked, installed today's update and it still doesn't work. It was working fine ~3 weeks ago. Any updates/acknowledgement of this? soundcloud is probably my most used streaming app and it's useless with my 6 speaker sonos system.
UPDATE: hopefully people will see this before purchasing their speakers. Its a shame that great hardware gets screwed by software! Now I can't listen to anything I used to, unless I sign up for some substandard company that want to track everything I do. Too bad every want-a-be company thinking that offering anything free on these devices. There's a sucker born every minute!
