I love the show so much it is one of my favorite podcasts. it's the main podcast I listen to. I'm a plus subscriber so I really have no choice but to use this app that being said this is the worst app I have ever used. I can't even name off all of the glitches and errors that are constantly happening. I can't even get through a whole episode without having to deal with some kind of problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app all of the things and nothing helps. Will update if fixed
not commenting on the show, but this is a review for the app and the app is freaking awful. it won't save my credentials like ever. it crashes unexpectedly, it will back me out of whatever I'm listening to and I go back in and it shows that it never started. so unless I remember where I was on the episode I mean I have to start from the beginning. also if you close it or I mean you just turn the screen off on your phone. a lot of times it will stop or it go in and out. fix plzzzzzzzzz
Thanks to the developers who worked hard to make this app bug free as much as possible. When is this app going to get Android Auto support?
love the podcast, this app is horrendous. every episode crashes, when I restart the app it will be at the same timestamp from 5 crashes ago. this has been going on for years now. fix the damn app Mike!!!!
podcast quality has gone down significantly over the years, while price continues to rise. I really tried to hang in there but what drew me to this podcast is no longer there.
I keep getting signed out. And just yesterday I had to create a new password and now it doesn't work. When I try to recover a new one with my email it says 'unable to resolve host'.....'no address associated with hostname'. This is getting old now.
It won't let me pause the audio on the pop up display player, or using the pause button on my earbuds. Response - yes it has been and still is the newest version available, still same problem. Also, it doesn't save or pick back up on the episode I am currently listening to when the app times out or it is closed. Having to go back through all the clicking and scrolling just to finish the last 5 min of an episode is so frustrating.
this podcast is great, one of my favorites. dark, audio footage from real interviews, court hearings, body cams. it's great. the app, SUCKSSSSSSS. Episodes will randomly stop, it will log you out for no reason, if a phone call comes in, the episodes will keep playing silently, leaving you to figure out where you left off. I understand losing money to people sharing a private rss, but I'd much rather listen in my preferred app.

Without a doubt my favorite podcast, but like so many other reviews say the app is just horrible. Constantly logging you out, and not saving where you left off are major hindrances in enjoying such great content. Unfortunately I am unsubscribing as well until the app gets fixed.

The episodes/podcast is great, but the app sucks. You need a signal to play downloaded episodes??? It does not resume any of the episodes where you left off. Super glitchy
Love the show, despise this app. Logs me out every day and crashes every 10 mins and doesn't save my spot in the episode when it does.

I've been a plus member for like 4 years. Canceling now because I'm tired of Mike's little kind of racist remarks he always likes making. Hey freedom of speech whatever, but I'm not supporting it anymore. Have fun little shock jock.
I love S&S but man... This app is so glitchy. It sings me out, it doesn't play seamlessly with my headphones or in my vehicle. The audio needs to be paused from the app, the futures on my bose headphones won't work to rewind or pause. Need a little more attention to this app for the price of membership!
Big fan and supporter. Constructively the app is rough. It automatically logs me out every single day, even when just switching between apps then back. Also, the media being played is not recognized by Android Auto so it will not show a play bar with controls like other media apps. Hope that helps
The app is still bad. I'm unsubbing, I would rather listen to commercials in Podcast Addict. Still won't save progress. Still uses data and streams episodes I have downloaded. I'm constantly being logged out for some reason? The Android media controls don't work. The landing page is TV instead of Podcast, adding clicks to get to where I want to be. Sorry Mike. Great podcast, but we need RSS feeds back. Give us freedom.
App isn't letting headphones pause the episode. Have to physically pull out unlock phone open app and press pause. Pretty annoying. Use to work now I don't know what they did to the app to bug it.
I keep getting charged but it won't let me access the program. So I'm just going to delete it and ask that I be reimbursed for the last 6 months of unused programming! Laura Orr
Finally unsubscribed. My grandfathered in 4.99 a month price was the only reason I stayed on this long. Here's why: -Blatant racist undertones throughout the entire episode with the newest. I have heard it before but this one took it to a whole new level. -They have become just flat out lazy. In the episode they play an audio clip and the host proceeds to restate the clip verbedum. -victim blaming in the episodes has become a real problem Show is now a dumpster fire
Was never a fan of the new app. Then the price doubled for the base plan. The show used to be so good. The earlier seasons the podcaster was able to focus on the show. Now he's more concerned about getting his personal opinions on anything and everything sprinkled through the show. He's too full of himself. The last 4-5 seasons were weak & only there for him too get in his quips. Definitely not worth paying for when there are so many other shows out there that can stay on track with the story.
Don't like new app!! Can't fast forward or rewind! Doesn't save where I was in an episode. So disappointed!
I just sadly canceled my subscription after several years as a dedicated plus member. The new app is so awful and non-functional as a car listener. It does not save your listening place, constantly logs you out and the music in my car keeps playing when I hit play on an episode. This never happened with the old app. How did it get so much worse? I was really hoping for increased functionality and interfacing with Android-auto but have been so frustrated every time I open the app. Please fix it!

I do not like the new app. It is very confusing and difficult to use.
Been a plus member since 2021. This app simply doesn't work, I can't even stay logged in for more than a few minutes. It constantly logs you out or crashes and stops playing or both. It's sad because I haven't even been able to listen to a full episode since it became exclusive to the app, it's simply too frustrating.

This app is the reason I'm no longer a hardcore subscriber, or any other level. The fact they took rss feed so it can't play on other apps was annoying but to have an app that will stop playing and if resumes will restart from the beginning makes it useless. The app would work about 50% the time with WiFi but when on mobile driving it was a 0% success of playing an entire episode. I'm personally not going to pay for content that I can't use. Fix the app or make it available on others.
Crashes every 15 minutes or so, making me log in again. Used to work fine, but the recent updates suck. In addition to the crashes, the new UI sucks too.
Love S&S and have been a listener since the beginning. Really really wanted to Love this app but it's unusable for me as is. I am visually impaired and so don't use the TV side of things and the podcast side seems like it fell by the way side. The podcast constantly drops or skips to the newest episode. If you open the app mid podcast it will play the newest episode and won't hold your spot. The design is not intuitive and I so desperately wanted to support the app but will just use Spotify.
My absolute favorite crime podcast. App is atrocious and unusuable, and a stupid move to being app only. Update: they added a little icon for downloading that you can click but the app still doesn't work offline at all including playback or selecting an episode. So there still isn't a download feature. It also doesn't remember where you left off in the middle of an episode, not buttons for skipping or rewinding. You know what works great? The other 3 apps I have that can play podcasts!
app is broken, the podcast is fantastic but the app is terrible. I can only listen to about 5-8 minutes of an episode before the app crashes and signs me out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more times than I can count and signed out and back in even more. I really wish I could listen to an entire episode of the podcast I pay for but right now I can't use the app at all.

love the show, But this is probably one of the worst apps I have used. constantly crashing for no reason, restarting my episodes or just straight up skipping them.
I wanted to love this app because I love the podcast but I like to listen at 2x speed. There is no option to speed up the sound and when I listen to it at regular speed it honestly feels so slow.
I download every single episode and still can't listen to it. I work in an environment that I have very little signal so I think downloaded episodes would have no issues, but that's not the case. Even if I use the wifi at my job I still can't listen. The download is magically gone and I have to wait to get home to try to download it again. I also found out I have to download it twice in order for it to try to play. I don't know who to blame, I just want to listen to my episodes smoothly.
The best podcast but substandard app. Can't sort by show type and it doesn't keep track of episodes you have listened to, i.e. archiving them and getting them out of your queue. I want to use the app and take advantage of no commercials but it's quite painful. Only gave two stars because I love the podcast, the app does not deserve both.

like everyone else: this app constantly logs out, which is a major pain when you're a car listener; it doesn't save where you left of in an episode; and it randomly won't play over basic Bluetooth speakers. I get that it's tough to design your own app, but the first app was just fine -- at least it was functional. I'm going to unsubscribe at this point, as much as I love the content.

Not liking this app! It doesn't automatically stop when you have an incoming call which is irritating, and if I have it open and press pause to do something else it reopens on the home page and pressing play starts the first episode, rather than the one I was playing. When I open the season to find the episode I want it shows as fully played so if I can't remember the number I have no idea which play button the press. Also, the text is too small. Considering the cost, it's very poorly designed.
This new app suuuuucks! It doesn't keep track of the episodes I've listened to already and if I stop an episode part way in and go back to listen later it doesn't tell me which episode I was on or where in the story I was and starts the episode over from the beginning. Very annoying! The other app worked just fine, please bring it back!!!
