Too many restaurants require preorder and credit card info to lock you in. There are no distances provided to your location so without cross checking the map, difficult to know how far you have to travel. The "near me" feature is not reliable.
Do not use. I got charged 1320 Yen by Tabelog for booking a restaurant. the restaurant was closed. Google said it was open, and was able to book via the Tabelog app. When I approached tabelog they said the issue was between myself and the restaurant, even though Tabelog charged my card directly.
Never use this app for reservations.
I'd not trust this app ever again. Especially when booking during holidays season. I made a reservation at restaurant in advance, got a confirmation. Of course the fee was charged! We arrived at restaurant, they said - ohh, we are sorry, fully booked. They didn't even try to help or find at which side a problem occured. Like our reservation has never happened.
tried to book a reservation with bbq restaurant in Sapporo for Nye and it appeared to go through and took deposit details but then when arriving at the restaurant there was booking confirmed which was a really disappointing experience. I would recommend only going once you can see confirmation email ... but this wasn't obvious after I had gone through all the steps and it took details seemed like it appeared to go through.
I made a reservation on tabelog for a 9pm and the confirmation email for that reservation was sent to me at 9:32pm. and now they want to charge me both the reservation fees and cancellation fee. im inquiring this issue with the support now but its a disappointing app so far

don't understand the love for the app- id rather use Google maps and link up to the tabelog listing otherwise it's so frustrating to use. Example, you're at Tokyo Skytree and want to search for ramen - as soon as you put the locale in the search bar, adding anything after erases the locale!?! I understand that you probably don't need that much space for Japanese characters but c'mon - know your audience.
