very slow app especially if you're inside the store it's worse
The app opened with about a foot of specials and nothing but a "magic apron" button which opened to a chat screen I could not enter search information into. I have enough to do without trying to decipher the latest AI UI refresh of an app which worked fine before. Put the search bar front and center at the top of the page so the majority of us who know what we are looking for can just use the app for convenience, which is the whole point.
My lord fix your app. For so many years this app is absolutely the slowest app ever. I've been waiting years for it to improve but nope. At least they're consistent! Seriously though guys. What tah? Is there a contest you're trying to win? Whoever you're paying to manage/design your app should be fired. On the positive while waiting for the app to load any time you click a button, it gives me time to contemplate life and its many meanings. This is the perfect app for the Existentialist.

Incredibly slow app. Why did you bother doing UI improvements when you haven't addressed the very slow performance. This poor performance directly impacts your revenues as it's so painful to search/add items I only add what an absolutely need then escape this year 2003 speed Internet experience. Baffling that you don't address this...

your app sucks.
This app makes me not even want to shop here! Zero life cycle / state management every screen reloads every time you go forward or backward. I would love to use it for finding things in the aisle but all of your stores have zero connectivity because they're giant metal boxes. It would be great if you could make this app work because none of the workers seem to know where anything is either 😄
super slow and unresponsive at times. takes forever to load product pages and return search results. checkout kept timing out using G Pay. took multiple attempts to purchase item.
super delayed. you have to wait 30 seconds between each number you put in. other than that. it's and app... it is what it is.

This app has consistently gotten worse and worse over the last few years. On average it takes almost a minute sometimes longer to load any sort of results, there ad experience also creates a hang after results load. Such a trash user experience, basically unable to reliably use the app. They have AI now though! 👎
Just keeps saying redirecting you to sign in when im already signed in. nothing loads in it.
I just tried placing an order for a gift card and had a terrible experience. The app was super slow between loading and selecting things and I had many issues placing an order. I had to order later to confirm an email address. My session expired, but then when the app refreshed and I lost my saved credit card. I had to enter it again and then while trying to confirm the CVV, it gave me an error and I had to add the new card again then the place an order button was grayed out. Finally ordered.
Painfully Slow
Errors everywhere. Can't sign in, can't add to cart Annoying!! UPDATE! Three years later and still a horrible app. Pathetically slow. Hard to find details on products, since you need to scroll through a bunch of stuff that's unrelated, and the page has significant delay.

So far I would rate my experience with Home depot and the app as horrible. If I want to look at tool belts, THEN I ONLY WANT TO SEE TOOL BELTS! I don't want to see a 10 piece dewalt power tool set or any other set of tools. I know you can only show tools but you choose to wast my time because you don't care about us the consumer! Had to add on here that your app is horrible, I can just about go to the store and find what I need before the app would start to find it. it is painfully slow.
Slow, Slow, Slow. I'd love to see what Home Depot has on sale to see if I need any of it. But the app is so slow I just get frustrated and leave after the first page. They are probably losing a lot of sales.
Unusably Slow
Over the past few weeks I have tried multiple times to buy items from this app. It is without exception the slowest browsing experience of any store app I have ever used. Once I ended up waiting till I got home to buy it from the website on my laptop. Multiple times I have just switched to buying a similar item from elsewhere (Amazon, Ace Hardware or Lowe's).
The app is so bad, so slow, takes me almost 10 minutes to get through five or six pages of the promotional sales. I love Home Depot, but what often have to do (after the third or fourth time that the app crashes on me or won't let me click on something or takes me an extra 10 to 15 minutes do something) is exit out of the whole thing and go to Lowe's or Amazon. I don't need the app To be fancy, I just need it to work and not take longer than dial up!

has home depot ever actually tried to use this app. every time you click on anything it takes 20-30 seconds for the app to load and start responding, and it's been getting worse for years.

The app is extremely slow. So much so that you'll think it's unresponsive. From such a big name in hardware, I expected the app to perform much better. I'll stick to using the website on my mobile device.
terrible! what happened to the app. it's SLOW!!!! whatever update they did is terrible and needs fixed ASAP. almost makes me want to shop at Lowe's that's how frustrating it is. get it figured out!!

The search function is so ridiculously slow, buggy, and unresponsive that it's virtually useless. It takes tens of seconds for it to register inputs, which includes scrolling. So, for example: if you get to the bottom of the page and tap the 'next page' button too soon, it selects one of the products halfway up the page. If there is a Home Depot within 30 minutes of you, it's literally quicker to drive to the store and walk the aisles in person than it is to try and find something with the app.
SOO INCREDIBLY SLOW

This app is painfully slow! Everything you click requires it to reload... very slowly. You're better off shopping on Google and using it to find the product you're interested in, and then going directly to it. It'll still load slowly, but it's better than trying to navigate the site.
Extremely slow and buggy and very poor experience
Terrible. It's 2026, fix your app. There's no reason it should be this slow freeze, and crash. I'm on a Pixel 10, it's not a phone issue. I've used this app across multiple devices.
The App no one asked for. By far the slowest app on my phone. My primary use is to find materials in store, so isle and bay shouldn't take minutes to load per item! The website is still better.
always have problems with the website...eventually get the order done, but always a hassle...too slow...need to get better IT

Worst app I've ever used to try to manage a credit card. It's glitchy and useless because you can't even get to the right section. Pages don't load or spin forever, it's literally unusable. It could be the worst app in the world and I'm not joking.
