Whistle was so much better. Tractive loses battery so fast and is so unreliable. All notification are on, but it doesn't tell me when it's lost connection or it's battery is low, which is a problem when I think it's connected only to discover when my cat escapes that it's not. It's probably been disconnected more often than connected since I've had it. Definitely won't be renewing the subscription and I've already told multiple of my friends who are looking for good trackers to avoid this brand.
Response: it's based on an old home location. it seems silly this would base the last known location on an arbitrary safe zone after a new one was created, and crazier you base it on a fake location rather than the last known location. Just saying guys - you showed 150 miles traveled per day. I'm confused. I moved away from an address on February 20th. it's now April 30th, and my dogs GPS just popped for my old address, which is easily 20 miles away. are you fabricating GPS coordinates?
GPS updates are spotty at best, and the tracker battery barely lasts a full day (unless you're on low power mode). Customer service is probably run by AI and never addresses the problems in question (non-functioning GPS and quickly drained battery). Will definitely not be renewing my subscription. edit: thanks for the response, but I have already contacted support multiple times and received the same generic information that doesn't reflect my experience or address the issues.
DON'T BUY IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE WHERE COLD. IF IT’S-5 OR LOWER CELCIUS EVER! GPS DOESN'T WORK THEN!!! AND IF THE NECKLACE COMES OF WHICH IT DOES YOU WON'T FIND IT
good idea in theory, in practice it's not very useful. The virtual fence minimum area is so large that unless you have an acre backyard your dog can easily leave the safe zone without an alert, the gps updates are always delayed and location is not accurate despite having full internet connection.
I have to click Are You Sure? every time I turn off live tracking! Really? What a pain! It's not like I am launching nukes....come on!
poor battery life. misleading subscription model. rubber strap broke after a few months (expensive (read: rip off) to replace). only works with good mobile network available. on top of it, when your dog dies they don't reimburse you (after having pushed you for long duration subscriptions via multi-year discounts...)
day two using product and I can prove 7+ problems with this product and or the supplier of this garbage it will tell you your dog is sleeping while licking paws and over 200 ft away while holding your holding it no phone support, over hour with support but it's all a lie/money grab! return form has lots of options but gotta pick one and deal with a chat worker
I knew there was a subscription, but it said monthly. I bought 2 collars and I'm traveling while dealing with multiple crises. I simply CANNOT drop $240 up front. I'm on SSDI and I'm currently homeless. I'm really angry and disappointed. Poor people love our pets, too. There's zero reason you can't have an affordable monthly rate, and it also shouldn't be double your best rate.

Don't waste your money if you have bad cell service in your area. Battery won't last two days and can't live track your dog when they disapear. Using the dog 6 tracker. Also, the shortest plan available in the US is a year.

Cat 6 mini can't find WiFi. I tried different settings and nothing helped. Older Cat mini worked with WiFi without any problems.
The first Tractive Tracker we bought was fantastic. Very accurate and gave us peace of mind. We recommended it to our friends . The latest edition has been very frustrating. It usually can't find a network while standing in the middle of town.
the ux is not that good but I managed it. the main problem is the GPS not accurate, and I paided a lot so it should be..
