for accounts clearly promoting violence - no age verification needed, for accounts showing probably a bit of naked body - age verification needed but then it doesn't allow to proceed with it anyway. and there is no way to contact them about it.

they added age verification recently. this itself is already a general problem but tumblrs automatic ai system for detecting mature content is the worst i have ever seen. it has marked pictures of snow as mature content, and pictures of woolen sweaters as mature content. staff are bad at responding to post appeals and some people get their entire blogs nuked for publicly criticising them at all with no warning and no real reason for it. don't bother with it until they fix things.

Tumblr's auto-flagging system is completely broken. Completely innocent posts get flagged as mature and removed, while actual porn bots roam free. Hateful individuals who keep breaking the TOS remain on the site while people who didn't do anything wrong, but belong in specific minorities, are constantly being banned. With UK and Brazil, age verification is now used and the third party doing the verification is known to have leaked user information. Simply put, the app has never been less safer.
now requires uploading government documents to a third party for age verification, along with marking any post involving a minority as mature. this site sucks dont use it
You know what you're doing wrong. Don't hide from it. If this could be -5 stars, that would not be low enough. You mark anything and everything that you do not want to confront as "Mature Content", and then have the GALL to push out an update where you can't even see such comtent without providing information to one of the most infamously breached "security" platforms in the world? I'd say "Shame on you", but at this point it's little more than your status quo.
The mature content filter is completely broken, and has been proven time and time again to discriminate against transgender women and black people posting nonsexual content. They're set to require age verification for users in the UK or Brazil despite no external pressure to comply with their age verification laws, despite the filter being broken and therefore entirely irrelevant as a system of filtering NSFW content. Please do not install this app, the devs don't care about you.

I wish they would get rid of all the mature labeling. Adults use this app and obviously have already consented if they're following the post-ers of the post. I'm over the constant censoring in apps.

You need to sort your selfie age verification out. It constantly says camera access denied when it's allowed in the app and also in both my browsers. I'm 54 years old and don't need this age verification BS at the best of times so sort your bugs out.

the ads are increasingly making this app unusable. TOS breaking porn gifs to aggressive knocking on the screen videos and violent and/or misogynist mobile games to just every ad autoplaying audio. extremely bad.
obnoxious quantity of ads with flashing images & auto playing audio. continued to be shown them despite having reported every one I saw
i don't mind getting advertised to, but ai gen ads for products that don't actually exist is crazy. if you're going to advertise to me, please please please only use real ads made by a real person for real products. edit: or, or, alternatively, hear me out... or you could stop running goddamn ai ads
After the latest update the app is almost constantly crashing on me. I can't hardly scroll to find something to read in 30 seconds without the app closing. I've done all the tricks like clearing cache and stuff but NOTHING has worked
my post aren't showing up even when it's privated as if its been taken down without notifying me and when I looked through reported flagged post there is none. i can't even post a gif. there's alot of weird activity going on with this app.
Can't get my old account back
lately the ads have been terrible. Ai slop of inappropriate gore or ads for NSFW chat bots. super lame. somehow its gotten even worse now, as ads autoplay their audio everytime you scroll past, so no more listening to music while using it without being interrupted and restarting it every few seconds. this kills the app experience for me. hope they fix it soon, but I recommend just using browser
when I uploaded two to three pictures they will block my account
solid 2/5. please add a "sort oldest to newest" option when searching for tagged posts in a blog
issue with uploading things constantly get stuck in processing, or when editing posts it just deletes what you've added completely.
by the way, the text on my post are not aligning well. I just typed in two words and didn't even clicked enter to start a new line, i went to edit it again because i thought i did but no. Upon editing they were just normal, perfect like the words aligned on this complain but when i post it they would looked like it was "stacked" also when clicking on the post then reblog section where seeing all the other reblogs of other people i click reblog to reblog theirs and it doesn't work
