I have a large sum of money I wanted to invest. Entered my ID details and got an error message saying I can't open an account. Called Ubank and was given generic scripting and told there is no way around it. What a shame.

ubank random set my spend account balance to -1000. There is not even a record of a transaction that did this; Ignoring the fact that a debit acc can't be negative.
Trash design trash change trash bank. All my data is gone. Ubank has handled this horribly. New version, still trash. edit 2026: design has improved. less neon. but the new changes to howbonus interest is gained is restrictive. still one star.
I am a ubank customer and I’m being bullied. Ubank locked my account for no reason , I sent money from my personal savings account from another bank to my Ubank spend account and my account got locked till now. This money was to sort out an emergency. I need my money for personal and family use but you guys are just so heartless , evil , inconsiderate and selfish. What exactly is the reason for locking my account ? What sort of bullying is this?
Frustrating
Cannot log into the app. Ubank website and other bank apps work. Unfortunately key functions are locked behind the app, so looks like my time with ubank has come to an end. update post response: yeah nah thanks, I'm not part of the "socials" sheep herd. I've already reported the issue multiple times to support. I'm now using a different bank and their app works without issue.

Disgusting. The app stopped working so I called, and because I declined to provide biometrics (although did provide every other piece of info and ID incl photos of my photo ID), you've now blocked my entire account so I cannot even access internet banking as I could before calling you. Instead of helping you blocked me. I have since provided the Manual ID method, signed by a JP, and you are still blocking my account and don't reply to emails. SIX WEEKS and counting.REPLY TO MY OFFICIAL COMPLAINT
garbage bank garbage app trash service won't let you withdraw money, reset password new password doesn't work, NAB sucks and I'll be pulling all my money out soon for one of their competitors
had an issue with their account security team. for all the humanity they displayed, i would rather have dealt with AI. I hope the guys I dealt with have a career plan B because they will be replaced soon.

run away ! read the fine print. lured in with a goot rate, with the only condition to deposit 1$ a month, only to find if your balance drops not only do you not get monthly interest you don't even get a lower percentage, zero, nothing, whilst the bank happily still uses the money in your account. I now bank with a bank that down not require me to jump thru hoops to use my own money. zero stars if there was a choice.

Thanks for the $30 to try out the bank. It looks promising but I shouldn't have to be calling the bank to sort out something as simple as adding a card to PayPal. Huge red flag, which gives credit to other reviews re being locked out of their accounts etc. Not risking my everyday banking when I can't even verify an account for PayPal without calling the bank.

Scamming bank. Scammed me out of an entire month of interest. Do not use this bank for high interest savings account!
Was good, now It tells me to update my phone before I can use the App. No update for my phone and everything else works. I won't be buying a new phone just to use this App, but I will be looking at other banks.
Ubank moving to add more and more requirements to earn the bonus interest is a massive mistake!! It is forcing me to consider moving to another bank that does not make their experience worse over time.
too hard to get reasonable interest and the punishment rate if you make a mistake it's too big

I went to update the app today only to NOT be able to update and to be told my phone is no longer compatible with the app !!!!! I'm now locked out of my online banking ???? I have a perfectly good and functional smart phone - a Samsung S9 running Android10. I checked the recent online app reviews in the AppStore. It appears your developers' arbitrary decision with this update limitation has caused a massive problem for a LARGE number of customers. NAB /Ubank ... please reverse this
ubank takes 3 days to transfer money to another Australian bank, they tell me
Awful experience, just signed up with ubank and with every transaction or payment I tried they blocked all my accounts from making payments. I was unable access my money to buy everyday essentials or pay my bills. They were not able to immediately resolve the issue so it took days before I could access my finances again. I do not recommend ubank.

new bonus interest rules mean you can't make a large withdrawal without forgoing interest. only work around is to withdraw everything. I now only keep a minimal balance in ubank and have moved larger savings to Macquarie
from march 2026 it is no longer compatible with galaxy s9.

predatory siphoning of saver's interest if they withdraw mid-month and not top up.
Stupid app asks for my finger print THREE TIMES before I can access it.
Installed and was going to open a joint savings account but after reading the reviews and the 0% interest if you go below the previous month balance decided not for us. Macquarie Bank offers a far more flexible product with almost the save rate and no penalties or requirements each month.
