I tried to use the Google pay feature with my Mastercard and the app broke twice when attempting payment. I was stuck with a spinner progress bar and after 5 minutes it didn't return an error so I had to close the app and redo my entire submission. I was so frustrated by the 3rd attempt that I just manually entered a card instead. please tell the app devs that if a Google pay card isn't successfully processed in 1 minute, to return an error to the user and allow them to select a new payment.
I could take a pic that was not blurry. I gave up.

Crashes when trying to ise google pay
I am writing this to alert the development team about a serious issue. I followed every instruction and completed the process as requested, but a system error at the final stage resulted in a loss of £20 without providing the service. I strongly urge the team to investigate the stability of the payment/completion flow. It is disheartening to see users losing money due to technical bugs. Please consider fixing this urgently and providing a way for affected users to claim a refund. We want to use
app is blocked at the biometric chip scan step
took me a good 45-60 minutes just to go through the application. Every button press required 3 minutes of loading. I pressed "yes" to a question, what are you loading for 3 minutes? Btw, my phone is fine, internet too, everything else works, it's just this app. Also, three times during the application process I would get a random error out of nowhere, kicked from the app, and had to restart the process from the beginning.
terrible experience
take 20 identical photos of the passport without any glare and in good light, not acceptable. walk in a half dark room barely point camera at passport, this is perfect, proceed. 1 minute loading bar, black screen, the suddenly "hold phone to biometric chip" ok, instantly aborts, let's take another passport photo instead. try again for 5 min. finally another photo gets accepted, "There has been a problem with our app, please restart and try again later".
Keep crashing when it asks if my passport has that scan icon. How am I suppose to apply for a visa this way??
absolutely awful
After ask if my passport have the chip is blocked on waiting for 30 min, on an Samsung S25 ultra and S22...so do something about dis please!!!

I had to try taking a photo several times just because it just didn't work.. same with my address : it just didn't recognise it. This might be the worst app I've ever used
the UK website says the application costs 20 pounds per person, when doing 2 applications for SPanish passports the lowest cost is showing as 80 euros!
Let me just upload an image and have a real person verify it, instead of torturing me through this APP's passport verification, holy....

This app is pathetic. You have to enter your data multiple times because the progress constantly gets lost. On top of that, the biometric photo requirements are insane-unless you can produce studio-quality shots, it won't accept them. If you don't enjoy wasting time on buggy software and re-entering info, just avoid traveling to the UK.

This app freezes a lot!. The UI does not show any information about the error, just keeps the progress bar running forever. It seriously requires more development and effort. It's ridiculous for such an official and important process.
App took my money and immediately crashed. When I reopened it, it tried to make me redo the entire process.
miserable app. photos were always rejected. I finally just told it to use the rejected pics and I got the ETA. ridiculous government money grab.
it's a mess, I had to do it for my mum in Italy but I am in London. this is impossible as the link to the website takes you to the app and app tells you to use the website, that takes you to download the app but you can only do this from the website.. the worst thing is the information, in uk says costs £16 valid for 6 months when following the link in italian (gov.uk) it's £10. eventually it's €19.16 for 2 years. This is the latest SCAM from British government to make money out of people. SAD
Hopeless .... every attempt fails. Either no code # is sent, or the one(s) submitted are designated as WRONG number.

App doesn't really function. I can't get it to load past the first screen, and there's no error code, just a logo on a blue background. Seems like it isn't robust enough to handle normal data, much less any kind of private data.
would be great if it worked. but it crashes and freezes and "closes because of a bug". I have to not only pay, but be constantly tracked from the moment i have this on my phone and it cannot even get through the onboarding part. congratulations on this lovely piece of work.
Useless app. Tried multiple times and it either fails to read passport photo, fails to read passport chip, or just fails to connect. Had to apply online using the website.
EU citizens should not pay.
it consistently gets stuck on payment, where it displays some message that is clearly not intended and looks like gibberish. it's clearly a big and it's frustrating to say the least
Tried one card three times, declined, Used another, declined. Does not take a Visa or Mastercard from a US Credit Union. WTH
