bad
An app that should be very cheap or free but is 50 a year
bet its great if you have money and pay for words. I've done better learning new words from a thesaurus in the last two days then i have from this app in months. i know what a face is. I know what coal is. and i really didnt appreciate 'D**khead' being plastered on my screen for 2 hours.
bruh, it would've been better it everything wasn't paid.
They make it appear free on the app store and it's not till you install it and get to the end of account set up that you learn you have to pay for it. Shady as hell
not paying for words this close to being cool
No way to actually add it to my lock screen as their Instagram ad showed. Not even an option when I go to edit my lock screen, and no settings in their app even point to this feature.
Until i found the data was going to usa.tiktok this app was fabulous. I had a 400+ streak. Feeling bad for letting go
Tried to get a refund through the FAQs and seems the link is broken. Trying to box you in and stopping you having your cooling off period honored. Absolute scam.
free-trial is not enough. there is no way to contact for a refund. all the link suddenly does not work. I do not recommend this app at all. it is shady.
not impressed -- too many ads, not enough value
far too aggressive with ads for what it is. Opening the app? Ad. Opening settings? Ad. Hearing a pronunciation? Ad. Every click is followed by an ad. It is not conductive to learning. Use Word of the Day instead, this app is garbage.
Nowhere do they tell you it's a paid app. They only have so many downloads because they trick people by not telling them until the app is already downloaded and a profile is made.
Don't be fooled by their public replies. After my June 5th review, their team told me to email them to resolve the issue. I did, and they completely ignored it. This firm cares more about looking good in the comment section than actually helping customers. An absolute joke of a business-stay away.
its a scam! its a great concept, but there are bugs and sometimes the words are misspelled. DO NOT pay for it. the voice stops working saying your volume is off even if you go change it the settings option it still doesnt work. I had high hopes for this app.
a lot of non English words. stops being vocabulary and starts being trivia. doesn't seem to mee you at your level. lots of being fed back words you already know. a lot of slang, way too much it's almost comical
very limited, literally wants payment for everything 😤 but Its not super bad
garbage. just use a dictionary + thesaurus. books won't serve you ads every 15 seconds.
I dislike this all the scammed me into buying and the words I already know
i want to refund my subscription cause it made by a mistake. it stated on "help" menu that i can request a refund by following the link provided, but it reffers to nothing cause the link doesn't work at all.
3 day free trial then you gotta pay and it makes you go through theprofile making process before telling you that
Extremely predatory ad tactics. They basically collect survey data from the user directly prior to announcing that this service ISN'T FREE. Unreal that you need a subscription to learn new words. Delete this garage. Go buy a dictionary/thesaurus. Be set for life. What an absolute joke of an app. Here I am thinking I'd be able to casually see some new words pop up on my lock screen from time to time. Instead, they question the hell out of my demographics, and tell me to pay. Yeah, nah. Kick rocks
This app was supposed to give me a warning when the 3 day trial was up. That never happened so I promptly got charged $70 for an entire year of premium. What's even better is that I couldn't tell you what the premium features are because I keep getting asked to 'keep my premium' even though I've already paid for it. Total scam! UPDATE: Contacted by email as requested and was offered a refund. Responded that I would and have had no response since, almost two weeks now.
Locked behind a paywall after three days? No thanks. Not even worth the free trial.
encountered an incorrect meaning of a word, crith.
47 dollars a year to put words on my screen? thats insane, the ratings have to be falsely inflated and factually misleading because theres no way someone is literally gonna dump close to 50 bucks every year for the convenience of learning 10-50 new words a week when apps like this 10 or so years ago would've been literally a couple bucks to own. it's barely above a dictionary. this sort of app is frivolous, and self sabotaging. im sure I'll keep an eye out for other apps by this dev to avoid.
nothing happens when i open the app and no vocabulary words have come up on my phone since i installed it two days ago and answered questions on it twice.
This app is for illiterate zoomers. "Lituation" and "coo" arent real words, man. If you can read at a 6th grade level, you dont need this app.
During set up the app wont let me continue when i pick a theme.
immediately hits you with a subscription. don't bother.
this app kinda sucks lol if youre like 10 years old you may learn some words, but if you have an even semi-functioning understanding of english this app wont teach you anything. look elsewhere if you want a word of the day app.
blazed through the setup process to see if I'd be interested in the app and deleted it after I realised it's subscription model doesn't agree with me. I've failed to notice it changed my wallpaper that I can't recover now.
Disappointing! Far too easy and the harder words are often obscure, bizarre and never used normally.
⚠️ STAY AWAY: Predatory App & Fraudulent Charges ⚠️ Please be warned that this application engages in highly deceptive practices. They trick you into subscribing and then immediately hit you with a massive full-year charge. Zero Customer Support: They do not respond to their own in-app contact forms, and there is no helpful email support available. I have reached out multiple times and have been completely ghosted. Shady Changes: They recently removed the "error refund" clause from their app
It's not badly executed, but my first issue is that it doesn't allow you to disable curse words unless you pay for premium. I'm not like against cursing but I don't want to open my phone at work and have expletives pop up. My second issue is that I canceled premium, they charged me anyway but don't enable refunds through Google Play, but their refund page leads to a broken link. So beware of their free trial. Also shouldn't have to pay to set my vocabulary level.
interesting but its 69.99 a month for nothing.
Deceptive marketing. Doesn't tell you it costs until you've downloaded and given loads of personal info.
Its ai and you have to pay.
Automaticallly deducted my acc. a 1-year subscription plan. No support to talk to. How can I bring back my money 😪
everything is paid, even to get a vaste number of words in other categories is paid ?? greedy developers!
annoying ai voice
Cannot add a widget to your lock screen with Android. Only IOS
egregious ads
not what I needed.
not good for free users. the best way to learn vocabulary is to not just learn the word meaning but the entire sentence. but they have given only one sentence example for free users. you can take a test of your vocabulary but you cannot see the result that's only for premium users. and the worst part is you are never gonna use such words in day to day conversation. good app for your own personal vocabulary builder type I like the theme but not the content.
I get the same words over and over. It feels like the vocabulary set is quite small. Maybe the paid version is better but it's too expensive to just try when I don't particularly like how the free version is working out and the test section is littered with errors. Overall quality is just low.
Unusable as free.
Ads ruin the experience. I'm fine with pop-up ads on my screen, but when I take a minute to swipe through a few vocabulary words, I should not be pulled away to watch an ad. and paying a monthly-yearly subscription to not have those interruptions? why is everything about greed anymore? at this point I just read the words they send me as a notification and don't open the app anymore.
subscription app, not free
ok app but incredibly annoying to navigate. Finally worked out how to disable streak notifications and now they send me synonym notifications and I simply can't work out how to disable them. I am only interested in the daily word notifications. therefore I am uninstalling, too bloated. Update 12/06/2026: To anybody trying to solve the same problem, do not follow the incorrect instructions provided by the developers in their reply to my review. Synonyms are impossible currently to disable.
