1 Star for not showing my maintenance history through the app as Ford Pass does. You've got much to improve yet.
It's ridiculous that we have to pay £90 just to see charge level and mileage. I think that is very basic which should be provided free. Or give 2 versions of the app. One with ads and another without if you pay. Ads can involve playing a 30 second video which can't be skipped. That should give good revenue. But please show basic stuff at least.

Just does not work, will not connect to my new GTE. Error every time I try to log in - pointless!

Overpriced in general. Without subscription it does not even show charge level, fuel level and range. If for all the issues and worthless app support in the past my subscription was extended, I'd probably get one year for free :)) BTW "Help shape future" should not be permanent and in the middle of screen. I pay you and you also want my data so desperately - give something back instead.
probably works 5% of the time. waste of time this app, wish I kept my volvo, never had any issues with the volvo app! Will be moving over to Tesla soon, as I test drive one for 24hr and their app was brilliant! vw you need to improve this app!
the longer I use this app the more convinced I am it's usless other than remotely setting on/off A/C.
Everything was fine for over 3 years until mid March and since then it does not sync with the car. I see others have had this problem but no resolution has been posted. Come on VW, look after your customers.
app yes my window is open but it's not , I'm unable to sync the app to the car aswell?
Slow - intrusion alerts are delivered hours after occurence. No actual value for the app. You can only show mileage, fuel level and when to go to the workshop. This last one may be actually little useful because VW needs to visit mechanic very often. App often logs you out for no reason. App low quality is in line with VW cars. One star for beeing consistent there. if I could Icwould give it 0 stars.
*Review update - 26 January 2026. This is so so frustrating as this app has reverted to crashing, repeatedly. Aaargh! Please fix it...asap!! Thanks ....App now deleted, it refuses to sync and hasn't done so since 02 March 2026 supposedly there is a server issue. Basically, it is not fit for purpose ergo no reason for it to use up valuable memory space.
Why do you state that Edge browser is not compatible to configure the id options on the VW app?!? On a fully updated Pixel 9 Pro with Edge as the default browser, you cannot configure the ID checks without swapping over to Chrome. Both Edge and Chrome are chromium based modern browsers so there should be no excuse for this! My personal preference is Edge and so having to make changes for a single app is not ideal for this day and age. other than that the app seems to do what it states.
This is one of the few Android Apps that do not level at all the IOS APP. E.G. Send destinatition to car navigation system workks fast and reliable under IOS but not this PlayStore App. A furher issue is with ECO setting. Neither in the car system nor in this App the ECO status setting can be viewed or changed
Don't rely on it. Twice now it has completely reset along with my Infortainment System and deleted all my data! I used the app to log my mileage and now I don't seem to have any history and don't know how to get it back. What a waste of time. I'll just go back to pen and paper.
It is ridiculous that it costs over £100 per year just to see the charge level of my car. Without that, this app is useless. Also, please make the driving data actually part of the app, instead of opening a janky website. Edit: you mention ongoing development. I don't see what "ongoing development" is required to let me view my charge level. It's just paywalled because of greed. Don't pretend it's anything else.
-30.03.2026 Today not synchronising, locking, not working location data. VW you please do not make apps. If sometimes remote unlocking working and if you unlock and not open any doors, the car locks itself but on the app stays UNLOCKED. Remote horn and turn signals struggles. Missing information on services performed, electronic service book! Why app is logging me out? No dark theme! Navigation useless. Others manufacturer can HEAT or AC remotely, VW for me not! IS VW HERE DELETING REVIEWS?
I can't believe how bad this app is! We bought an ID 5 two weeks ago. My wife registered as the primary user of the car and I registered as a Guest User. As a Guest User I am unable to lock/unlock the car using the app - only my wife can as the primary user. According to VW support a primary user can invite a Guest USer to be a 'secondary user' to get similar privileges but the instructions they gave for doing this don't work. Garbage app and garbage tech support!
Coming from WeConnect, I like the faster startup time, but everything else is just horrible. The app is a hosted webview with horrible UI and navigation, mobile unfriendly and probably overpaid to an external software company. Mostly, I miss the driving data presented in WeConnect. Please stop replaying with a copy pasted corporate text. Improve the app. Edit 23.03.2026, after the latest update, primary user and all driving data was deleted. Why would you do that? not even informing the users.

The app was updated on 05 March 2026 and my vehicle hasn't synchronized since this date.
The app was working fine but it suddenly just stopped syncing with my car yesterday. I had an update come through on the infotainment system not sure if that's affected it?? I've even deleted the app and reinstalled it but nothing. It's saying that it hasn't synced in 1 day and 3 hrs and that the car is unlocked!! (it isn't btw)

out of the blue my car would not start one morning - battery dead. Jump start, late to work. Battery dead again by home time, another jump start. My VW Vehicle Health Report - 100% all Ticks! Visit garage, they ask me had the stop/start ceased working of late ... why yes, now I think about it, it had. Ah, that's a sure sign the battery is dying. So the ECU knew the battery was dying weeks ago, enough to deactivate stop/start. But VW App didn't think I needed to know! Useless as a mute guard dog.
App has broken this week, you cannot get further than the login screen. What is it with car companies and tech??! Come on VW - be better than this. Turns out you need to disable Google's advanced protection to register. you can then turn it back on and access the app as usual. More testing needed VW.
stopped working 2 weeks ago. I just get stuck on the loading screen. Tried uninstall several times but to no avail. Update: another few weeks goes by and still not working. This is very poor.

From the app disappeared the list of charging stations operators names. Before I can plan my journey and charge the car only in like Ionity, Tesla, etc. chargers. Now the list is empty. Can anyone explain, pls. Secondly. Planing trip. The navigation system shows me roads including roads in Russia territory. No Google maps, no other sat navs didn't show this road, only VW. Still dreaming about business with RU? Every day more and more disappointed in ID4.

The latest update completely broke remote heating/AC on my car. Previously it worked fine when enabled manually via app. Now it does not work at all. This is unacceptable when VW asks for subscription for the service! Not to mention the scheduled heating/charging did not work reliably from the start.
since being serviced, car is not syncing to app. tried the usual, uninstall then re install, log out and back in.....NOTHING 😑
edit- vw said it's a knowm issue but still not fixed.. app now broken and won't load- pixel 10! (3 months it hasn't worked!)

It would be good that the app supports a second language if the main is not supported, as Android already supports that for apps since long time ago.
From April this app. doesn`t work any more. It is just showing open door on the car and it is not possible to update it any more.

no connection to vehicle after recent updates . mileage fuel.status ad blue not changrd since update. Does not sync with car. Do I wait for another update? pointless if that's the case.
Wenn die Wallbox pausiert z.B. wegen Überschussladen mit einer PV-Anlage oder dynamischem Stromtarif, ist es häufig so, dass das Auto dann auf Error geht und die Wallbox den Ladevorgang nicht fortsetzen kann. Mit anderen Auto an der Wallbox besteht dieses Problem nicht.
it worked for the first couple of days, now it shows incorrect fuel level, says my car is unlocked when its not and at the top of the app it states the last sync was 3 days ago
The latest updates have ruined the trip exports excel file, none of the data makes any sense now. Revert this back to previous version. Has anyone even tested the exports before releasing the update? Please fix this as I rely on it for business mileage claims.
Depuis plusieurs semaines, obligé de forcer un logout puis re-login à chaque swipe de l'application. Désinstallé et réinstallé, plus moyen de me connecter (nettoyé cache, reboot etc plusieurs fois rien n'y fait) Aucun souci avec la page web.
update 10/03/26: now working after almost 3 months.... Update 02/03/26: Still not working...where is the promised fix or workaround? Original: Can't get past login on a pixel 10 for weeks . Sounds like I'm not the only one having this issue. App repeatedly freezes / crashes when attempting any kind of input.
It finally works after 3 or 4 app updates and countless reports of other people about app crashes.
Very disappointed that after the last update I am unable (meaning the functionality is not available anywhere in the app) to online access the total mileage of the car. Beside map and lock/unlock the app isn't otherwise much useful for my version of vehicles.
