Wagotabi: Learn Japanese

Overrated. Definitely NOT for beginners. Very first mini game requires you to type the sound of the characters that scroll toward you. But none of those characters have been introduced to you by the game, making the mini game a guaranteed fail unless you already know all the symbols. Use this as a fun support app behind your primary language learning app, but don't expect it to be your first exercise.

I give up. This got way too advanced way too fast. This is meant for people who are already way beyond N5. This is NOT for complete beginners. Sentences are incredibly complex by the second prefecture. You are judged more by time than by knowledge. If you aren't fast, you will fail. There should be ZERO emphasis on time. This app wants you to run before you can even crawl. Want to really learn Japanese? Get a book. Get a tutor. Get anything but this app.

no very helpful confusing

Does not provide the same level of interactive explanation and hints as Duolingo. Does not focus on the most common scenarios such as ordering food etc. Does not provide any mnemonics for remembering kanji :(
