useless app, utterly useless.
this app is completely unusable now with the most recent update. basically a pay for our physical rulebooks for each and every faction to unlock the ability to see anything in the app. already pay for overpriced models and now the app wants you to buy more physical content that will become obsolete after the next update hits.
Can not build a list numbers go crazy without explaining why. It is a very hard read none of it makes sense and by now it shows you could care less.

cool. I get to pay them after paying them to get the miniatures only to have to pay them to get the rules and army list builder that I already paid them to play with. This app is booty.

I'm paying (or was paying) a subscription to unlock content. There's still a ton of content locked and no clue how to access it.
multiple pay walls. if you thought paying monthly is enough you are dead wrong. content is regularly removed and placed behind new pay walls
an unstable user-unfriendly app that unreasonably locks off most of the battlescrolls and unique functionalities behinf a paywall. paying 6.99 per month for a game thats already the most aggressively monetized game out there and not even getting a stable app in return is just insulting.
New player here, This should be a free App, I have already paid £100s for the plastic miniatures, paints and gaming equipment. Now they want an extra £6.99 per month for an App where I can't even see what my army or my opponents army does. I'll cancel this subscription and find a better alternative.

Horrible. Unusable without spending a ton of money on physical books. GW is trash.
the app is good the pay wall is terrible. whenever I want to start a new faction I want to check out their rules and can't.
Not at all consumer friendly, pay 7$ a month for all features only for each army to be locked behind aditional 60$ paywalls one the codex drops. Not to mention rules are restricted whenever a new generals handbooks drops.
Paywall for basic things... extremely uninviting to new players.
Got my first set of warhammer and put it all together. Went to go play with my buddy for the first time and found we can't look up a bunch of stuff without a subscription. Seeing this and everyone else's reviews, I think ima get out before I even start. Definitely don't have good vibes at all from this.
I'm sorry. I have to pay just to build a list? I can only have one list without paying? holy rip off Batman
So many different paywalls
it's paywalled behind $60 codexes PER FACTION and to make more than one list you gotta buy Warhammer plus. Use baftlescribe to make lists instead and wahapedia for anything else
Poor UI and UX, and a massive rip off
Paywall for even looking at rules like warscrolls. if you uninstall, all your lists will disappear, leaving you with the option of only one list. to create armies of renown, you need to sub or create a new list (can't select it with existing lists). I'll only use this for spearhead, greedworkshop does not care at all about their player base. you are just $$$ to them.
Installed, immediately hit with pay wall. Uninstalled, went and got a pdf of what I needed. Games workshop greed is out of control.
Now behind a sub paywall, and then to actually access the content there is another paywall to buy the physical book copy of each faction at £37 a pop. All this information is available in pdf for free online if you look in the right places. Do not feed this anti consumer greed machine of an app
unless your really into giving GW all your money this app doesn't help you. without their subscription or $60 per army books, you won't be able to do much. you can make 1 list, but you won't be able to see stats. honestly I don't see a point if you want a free app that will actually help you.
The fact that you spend hundreds of euros on models but can't even check their stats in the app without paying more is a massive scam

what used to be free, now won't work unless you spend money on books. not all of us in the hobby are rich enough to buy the tomes. shame.
it doesn't work properly, they've locked everything behind pay walls that used to be free, it's hard to navigate but it's all we have (officially)
I was thinking about getting into this game but everything seems to be behind a pay wall. I'm going to stick with War Machine where the unit descriptions are free.
all business, no game here, you can't even look at how to score or play or what your ridiculously overpriced bits of plastic can do without buying 20 battle tomes(£37 each) and general hand book (another £30) and core book (£30) after spending however much on building your army in the first place (£200minimum) GW are actually a joke, do you even want people to get into the hobby?! and after building an army, points change!! now it doesn't work need to buy something else! mental, just mental
it works, but rules should be free, not slowly locked and limited over time. use a free app instead.
At least give us the option to purchase the digital rules for cheaper than buying a 60 dollar physical battletome for an army that we don't play. I get y'all are greedy capitalists but you're leaving money on the table, so you're not even good at being greedy capitalists. edit: wish I could drop lower than the 1 star I already gave it. New season paywalls things you need for every matched play game like battle tactics behind a physical book purchase. GW is trying to kill its community.

it's one thing to charge a monthly fee, but it is rediculous that they expect you to buy physical books to get a code to see the abilities for each army. Great way to discourage people buying any new armies.

other list building options out there that are free.
App requires you to get a code in the back of codexs if you want to see updates to units after codex launch. Updates feel intentionally slow, has no support for custom point limits or path to glory games. when the edition started the app was amazing. you could look at all the armies in the game and it let you see if you wanted to try something new that you hadn't done before. now, it's a cash grab that is barely usable and doesn't update fast enough to use a a reliable source for point costs.
App works great but the paywalls are insane
When I got a new phone, the app no longer had all of the army lists I had made at the start of 4th edition for each of my factions and is now telling me I have to pay for the right to have more than 1 army list If I could give this negative 5 stars I would in a heartbeat
If you like reading the phrase "Locked content" you'll love this app. Great app paywalled into oblivion and a major barrier for new and returning players.
id like to be able to name my units. id like to not have to pay a monthly fee just to have to buy a 60 dollar book
the pay walling is insane. it's better to just find the warscrolls online. it's a shame to see what gw has become.
the app doesn't update for new releases so building lists is very time-consuming. for an app that is basically the same as the 40k app it clearly doesnt get enough attention.
