I've had these cameras for 8 years now and have been great until recently. So many ads it's ridiculous! I can't even view my camera feed or change screens without an ad. There have never been ads nor should there be. I will be buying a different system to replace these immediately. Such a shame and a disgrace. I used to recommend these to everyone due to quality and price. I will never recommend this brand again now. Don't buy or download the app. Look elsewhere for your security camera needs.
I used to support Zmodo, and I have given cams as gifts to friends and family. Now I'm getting calls for help and, well we know what's going on. Sorry I understand once you make money you want more and more and more but Ads really NO ONE is going to buy anything from an add when trying to monitor security cams. Please rethink this you have loyal customers don't lose them.
I agree with everyone who has written a out the stupid ADS. I will never purchase anything from any of the ads. Horrible decision to make money.

This has been a great working app, until recently. The ads pop up randomly and cause everything to glitch! Why are there ads an the app in the first place? The ads ruined the app. To make the ads less intrusive, simply remove them. I dont use the cloud storage. Let those who do pay the expense.
App Sucks Advertisement forced before you can view your camera feed!! What dumbass at Zmodo thought this would be great while an intruder was breaking into a customer's home ?????? Updated response: OH, its about profit ... sorry, I guess that makes it all better then ...
Cameras are fine but Zmodo must be broke for spamming us with ads the moment u launch the app. it's new. they never did this before and now is Zmodo is a joke.
it was a pretty good service before.. straightforward, simple.... would sometimes say there were no cameras, so I would have to force close, then re open... but it worked Now there are ads? I hear something outside, grab my phone, boom... ad... if I don't hit the exact right spot, after waiting for it to pop up, I can't skip the ad, I go to the ad first... What is the point of having security cameras if you can't access them right away, when you need them?

What's with all the adds now?? The app used to be perfect, until a few weeks ago. If this is not fixed I will be purchasing new cameras with a different provider
absolutely insane that these guys took our money for the year and now are changing those terms and adding ads in FOR PAID SUBSCRIBERS! BUYER BEWARE. THUS COMPANY/CAMERAS USED TO BE GREAT. DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYMORE. Paying for ads is not what I agreed to when I was charged for my annual subscription. Basically seems like a SCAM at this point because you aren't making the profits you once were. Alienate your existing subscribers and you won't have anyone left.
I don't know who decided to add full screen ads to this but I am looking at switching companies and canceling my subscription now.
Because of ads I am replacing all my zmodo cameras.

cameras work great. but recently Ive been getting ads as soon as I open the app and sometimes I cant even close the ad to get into the app so I can see my cameras.
funny, since you're using ads now, your software is flagging my Xfinity security as a hacker. I used to like your stuff before it became adsville. I can't recommend using your apps now and will be moving my camera security needs to a more secure provider who actually cares about the quality of the end user. sorry. enough of the spamming ads in a app you know we need to control our cameras with. I hope you reconsider removing the ads.

wanted to update this to 1 star. was at 2 stars but you all installed ads? Are you all going broke.. why? lmao. i have my own website and would never implement ads. Thats a quick way to lose customers. Which is what is happening now. I will start looking for another camera and app. One that isn't going out of business or ran by greed and clearly stupidity. if the only way you can make money, is from ads, and you sell a physical object. Then you clearly can't do accounting.
I have been using this app for more than 10 years. It was doing what it was supposed to. Now, after the last update it's all ads. They pop-up the moment you open it and play loud videos instead of allowing you to have quick access to your cameras when you need to. And usually you need to access them fast since this is a security camera...! Waiting for an ad to finish to see if someone is in your house or if your kids are crying is NOT ideal.
Ads every time i open the zmodo app are the final straw. I'm throwing these cameras in the trash and going with something else.
I purchased your product, why do I have to see ads in order to use it?
This app used to feel outdated but was mostly reliable. Now it is still outdated and filled with ads, not just on startup but throughout the app while navigating. It technically works, but the user experience has taken a clear step backward. I chose a locally hosted NVR to avoid this kind of thing. I will be switching to an actual camera provider. Given the limited camera lineup, it is not surprising there are better options like Wyze if you are going the cloud camera route.

Why all the ads now? After the latest update there are lots of ads. You have to see an ad as soon as you launch the app and then once your in the app you get more pop up ads. I predict this is going to be their downfall. ugh! 😕

let talk about all the ads, specifically when you launch the app, on top of the app taking forever to launch, cameras dont catch much even when you pay. connection randomly drops and the playback interaction is god awful! I'm 8 cameras in and im totally over the ads not sure what changed and why they are pushing ads all of a sudden but as soon as my subscription is up I will be canceling and changing over to a more reliable camera system.
they recently added into this app intrusive malware ads. avoid at all costs. tossing my cameras in the trash.
this used to be a great app. I was really okay with paying for it. but a paid app should have no ads at ALL. I GET THAT EVERYBODY NEEDS MONEY BUT THIS IS JUST TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOMER. Have the ads open after I actually check my camera and not as soon as I open the app.
they have added ads into a security camera app. have an emergency at your home and trying to look at a camera nope you have to watch an ad first. how stupid is that.

The ads are absolutely ridiculous! I pay monthly for the service, I shouldn't have to watch ads to access my video feed. It takes to long to get thru an ad to bring up your video feed which is not safe! Will be switching as soon as possible.

The app was decent. It wouldve been at least 3 stars, but the latest update has added ADS! I can not view the cameras without seeing an AD first. Unbelievable, time to find a new system, and it because of this. Theyll say...its to keep subscription low...yadda yadda. Prepare to lose many many long time consumers Zmodo!
I pay the extra for saving videos and such but before I can even view my cameras I have to try to get out of advertisements! why is that!?! ETA when I get on and need to see who is lurking in front of my home, its more effective when I dont have to figure out where the "x" is hidden to get the dang ad off the screen first.
They just pushed an update, so now you have to watch an ad before getting into the app. This made an average app even worse. You also get ads when you move around to different screens.
Never had ads until last week 5/1/2026. It is dangerous for a user to have to watch 20-30 second ads when security is at stake. Awful business decisions showing no due care for user safety. There is no point in having a home security camera app when you selfishly force users to watch ads before the application opens. You just lost a customer. Shame on you.
i pay money for this app every month. now im getting ads whenever i open the app. now the load time is way longer. maybe i need to see whats going on in my driveway before i see an ad. if you keep ads in the app i should get it for free
A stupid commercial when you go into your Zmodo app?? REALLY?? What moron came up with this "bright" idea to add a lousy commercial before a user can get into the app? They need to be fired and Zmodo needs to get rid of this pathetic attempt to shove another product ad down my throat before I can check my devices.
The app was already bad, but now they decided to add ADS to an app that was already bad, extremely slow, tot he point where sometimes it can't even load the live stream of the cameras. Also, it's not intuitive, it doesn't matter which of the cameras you touch on the main interface, it always shows you the first one.
Update 5/3/26 when I open the app, I'm now greeted with a whole screen ad and a tiny banner at the top to skip. Zmodo keeps pushing my buttons and I'm about to switch to a different system. I just want to open the app and do what I need to do without having to be greeted with ads.

I suggest if you haven't installed zmodos update to this app NOT TO! Infact do not install this app at all. Not only have they made it intrusive, but it locks up your phone in an ad loop!
The latest update plagues me with predatory ads and ruins the service! The app was never great but the function was enough. I happily replaced cameras as they stopped working, but now I'll replace them with a different brand and service. These ads cheapen the service and this decline drives me away. I have loved these cameras and app for years.... Recommended them to friends and family and I buy them as gifts. I have 13 active cameras and 6 subscriptions and loved this service until now.
Just added ads to the newest update will be replacing entire system and never using mods products again
The power cables go bad and have to be replaced often. Every time I try to see what is causing an alarm, a Temu commercial pops up before I can see the cause. I am going to buy another brand to replace Zmodo because if the commercials.
The ads make this app useless. I understand 1 ad but EVERYTIME u push a button a new ad pops up? really Zomodo??? do better..by the time i get to a camera its too late .I am exploring other systems and will likely trash my zmodo system.
ive had zmodo for 6 years now. now im getting forced ads evertime I open the app! im definitely changing cameras. I pay for each camera I have to have a monthly could service. im not putting up with ads for no reason.
latest version is trash. I can't open anything without being blocked with an ad. setting? need an ad. camera view? ad first. even opening the app wastes my time with ads. and not just banner ads either. they're full screen ads. Definitely worth switching to a third party service over this nonsense.
