No way to stop daily reminders
Daily reminders come at all hours of the day. 11 pm 5 am when you’re in a meeting etc. They haves button to put them off. When you switch to off it automatically goes back to on. I’ve contacted them since I’m ever 2025. They have done SEVERAL updates to the app since then. Unwanted reminders -several a day- come in daily. I want my money back. Stay away from this service unless you want your phone dinging 4-8 times a day. !

Not very up to date with books
Nowadays it’s very rare that I find on this app one of the recent books I’m interested in. At the start it’s used to be on the ball, but now I think the catalog of books is becoming old and stale. Please start adding new titles.

Apps doesn’t work offline
The app doesn’t even open if you are not on the internet. I reported the issue a few times and still nothing.

App stays on loading. Haven’t been able to even check the app out. Very disappointing.
The App That…
You can’t get rid of. Once you have subscribed, you can’t cancel. Think twice before subscribing. I have been trying for over a year to unsubscribe and the app will not let me cancel. It has for a second year in a row taken my money.
It wouldn’t load
I’m writing this review because I opened the app I chose things I wanted to learn and then pressed continue, immediately it said “can we send you notifications?” I said no and it would not let me continue so then I changed it so could send me notifications. After that, it would not stop loading and I have exited out of the app and gone back into it. I’ve done everything I can short of deleting it and reinstalling it so I don’t know what to do.
I like the app but
I like the app but at least once a month the app will not load so I have to delete it and reinstall it. If it were not for that pain I would easily consider purchase. I wrote this review and I’ve reached out to their support several times but zero response but they want me to pay for their app? I don’t think so! Mediocre app & terrible customer support!

Gift Doesn’t Work?
I received a subscription as a gift but cannot access with the Redemption Link and Redemption Code. All I get is a note that my free has expired and and upsell pitch. I can’t get it to recognize the Link and Code. Pure grief is all I’ve learned but it took lots more than 12 minutes.
Update is tech wrote to solve the problem. Window dressing. I provided details and got no response . It’s been a week. More grief.

Shame on you
I opened the app just to check the subscription pricing, and by doing so the 3-day trial clock started without my consent. I never used the app nor selected nor read any of the book summaries, I just wanted to know the price. The minimum subscription is for one year and now I can’t even do the trial due to their shady and greedy non-consent tactics. Why not let me start the trial when I’m ready rather than decide that for me? You might have had a paying customer if you were not so opaque and underhanded. I would never support nor recommend a company that uses such unconscionable practices, and I’m not paying for a year or lifetime without getting a trial.
No longer works
At first the app was awesome, then third day into my already paid for annual subscription, all the app does is buffer upon opening. It just buffers and buffers and buffer and buffers. They HAD a great app, now all they have is an expensive buffering symbol.

Doesn’t rotate
This app is not optimized for iPad. It doesn’t rotate (doesn’t go to landscape mode). Since I use my ipad with a keyboard in landscape mode all the time, this makes the app pretty much useless on ipad.

As I was listening to the 12 minute summary,
it wasn't just an unbiased summary of the book that I was getting. What I got and did not appreciate was the unrequested political opinion and personal agenda of some individual that was obviously NOT the author or the publisher of the book. This personal agenda was passed off as part of the summary. In doing this you lost all credibility as an unbiased service that I could trust to summarize an interesting book, and you lost a customer as well.

Broken on iphones with notches
The reader view and the tab bar on the home tab are cut off by the notch / bottom bar.
White screen issue
I finally got around to opening the app after getting it in a Stack Social bundle last year and, like the other recent review, only see a white screen after logging in......
This app doesn’t work!
I just paid for lifetime access on this app. I logged in through Facebook and picked my preferences, and now all it shows is a white screen. I have restarted my phone twice. No luck. Help site is completely in Spanish.
Can’t close out the premium pop up
I want to give this app a try. But the first thing I got is a premium pop up which I can’t close on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. The little x button is at the top left corner overlapping with time and does not work when I attempt to close it. Quoting the app doesn’t help at all. Terrible experience to be honest.

Rarely loads
Limited titles. Somewhat useful... if it loads. Hit or miss.

Under developed
The app could use improvements as it’s not the best UX especially compared to Blinkist. Have experienced bugs as well. I’m supposing it’s a small team but they need more testing or QA. There is no iPad or landscape version as well.
Content wise the selection is average.
Recommendation system is average as well.
If the UX and UI was resolved along with bugs I would give 4 stars.
