Out of all the live streaming apps, this was clearly the worst. It comes down to content - this app offers nothing unique or exciting. From American streamers sleeping to literally picking their nose - you can see all of this at any McDonald’s in any train station in any city. To make matters worse the app is not aesthetically pleasing edit times extremely confusing to navigate. 17 live should have been named 17 dead. Avoid. The streamers on TikTok and twitch are way more interesting.

The code is very poorly written and requires excessive processing and bandwidth. The battery goes down and the phone gets hot much more quickly than with most mainstream streaming platforms.

This app has an addictive, yet heavy loss rate gambling system that their streamers are hurt by. The content has depreciated over the last several months as most of the talented streamers have moved on to apps that treat them better. They’ve increased prices while lowering the pay for streamers and customer service is very slow to respond. They will send you emails in Chinese often, even if you’re in the US Region. They’ve even implemented a new rule to prevent their streamers from receiving donations or promoting any art they have for sale. Imagine being a recording artist that isn’t allowed to sell your music.

This is hands down the WORST app I’ve ever used in my life. This app freezes and crashes every 5 minutes, and it also makes my phone totally freak out. I have to hard reset my phone ever single time I use it. This app is soooo buggy and unstable I have no idea how it’s even allowed on the App Store.

I love this site everyone is so kind

I’m a former contracted streamer for this app and if you’re considering streaming here, RUN. This app is full of not only incredibly misogynistic and predatory viewers, but also management as well. The viewers on this platform are mainly middle aged men who just want to date you. Management is incredibly ableist and pushes you to become a sell out and go out of your comfort zone. Management only cares about you if you’re bringing in money for them every month, otherwise you’re nothing to them. Their contracts are incredibly shady and some involve having to gambling your paycheck at the end of the month if you might not hit your “coin threshold.” This app is full of incredibly unprofessional talent managers that will only help their friends instead of doing their jobs. Managers have also openly talked trash about the streamers they’re assigned to IN SOMEONE’S STREAM. I’ve never had to deal with such an awful platform in all my five years of content creation. The community on this platform AND the management is just disgusting. STAY AWAY, GO BACK TO TWITCH AND DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MENTAL HEALTH.

I’m an ex streamer on the app. Been there three years. Was recently rather ungracefully dropped from the program due to being disabled.
Streamers - BEWARE. Your contract will be extremely oppressive (they control EVERYTHING, including hours, and have the right to NOT PAY YOU if you don’t receive a very high threshold of donations or fall short on hours even if you made enough donos) and then call you an independent contractor to get away with not giving you benefits. I know multiple people who never got paid because they were an hour or two short despite doubling their donation threshold. They’ll find any reason to screw you over.
I finally left the platform when they decided to end my disability-friendly contract and instead increase my hours to beyond what my body could handle AND decrease my pay. I begged them to let me do less hours without having to gamble my paycheck (because I AM RECENTLY DISABLED), and they basically told me to go screw myself and that they can ignore the ADA and EEO because I’m an “independent contractor” who keep in mind has a manager that I had to answer to in WEEKLY
MEETINGS, required hourly shifts, had to submit forms and spreadsheets of content for preapproval so that my content was exactly what the higher ups wanted. It’s 100% an employee contract, and the company was too lazy to do taxes so they just called us contractors.
Not to mention my old manager telling me “sex sells” and that I should “speed date my viewers” as well as baiting me to say things that violated my contract on stream (because again, I wasn’t allowed to talk about certain things but no that’s totally a very free contract sure)
Streamers… stay far away from here. They’ll find any reason to not pay you, they’ll market you as an object so that you’re constantly objectified and harassed by viewers (if not your own manager). This is coming from a veteran of the platform. I defended this company for years when I shouldn’t have. But forcing a disabled person out of their “independent contractor” job because they aren’t well enough to commit to the insane requirements… the stress has me entirely bedridden… please save yourself. Don’t associate with 17Live.

When I’m using the app I can no longer catch red envelopes. It tells me to verify my phone number which obviously I did when I opened the account more than a year ago. I’ve followed all the steps it says to going into settings and such. I keep getting an error msg saying that my phone number is already verified or paired.
