Opposite Effect
I went to one event, and it was lovely. Met wonderful people and was motivated to attend other events. However, I’ve since signed up for three events (and blocked my calendar for them) only to be informed the day before that I’ve not “been selected.” I don’t have space on my calendar to hold space for “maybe” events, and have declined invites from friends because I was reserving time for a 222 event. Until this group can confirm more than a day out, I’m out.
Awful
222 is not good. They send you to ridiculously expensive places and then the location where all the groups meet up is super far away. We had to walk a mile for one of ours and another group had to take a ferry.
Then there’s a matter of “compatibility.” I haven’t had even the slightest amount of compatibility with any of my groups. The algorithm completely ignores the questionnaire. I put sports as my main thing and it hasn’t given me a single athlete or sports fan. It also doesn’t take your age into consideration at all it seems because I get people that are 5 years older than me.
This app and model are truly flawed and you will regret subscribing to a membership if you do. The only plus to this service is it makes for some pretty funny stories.

Terrible and predatory
Title, terrible app
Poor event coordination and suck app experience
Signed up my first month subscription and joined a waitlist for the first day event. No event info or notification to inform locations and details until I reached out to support the event day at noon. Then I checked back around 6:30pm and event already happening, the app was showing they ran out of spot. Very poor event arrangement and no timely communication to app users.

Blackbox selection algorithm
The selection algorithm is a blackbox that 222 uses to reject individuals randomly from event. I was regularly denied from 3+ events consecutively without a good explanation as to why
Glitchy app
The app NEVER WORKS. It’s glitchy
Personality test with no ROI

Scam
My time was wasted. I filled out a huge survey, only to discover a massive paywall just to do anything. This didn’t need to waste my time like this.
Unacceptable system
When I first got into 222 it was fun. I have a great time meeting new people. What I didn’t like is their customer service. I have been on the waitlist for 222 for months without receiving a single invitation, and the prolonged uncertainty, coupled with a lack of clear timelines or communications, undermines trust in the platform. The compatibility system, marketed as a refined method to surface "better" connections, often feels impersonal and rigid, reducing the organic, messy nature of human interaction to data points and producing conversations that feel forced or generic. This approach appears to hinder genuine social engagement rather than enhance it, and the ongoing reliance on an algorithm risks diminishing real-world social opportunities. From a value-for-money perspective, the combination of unclear wait times, sporadic results, and potential recurring fees yields a disappointing return on investment, especially when there are numerous alternative avenues for meeting people that offer more transparency and tangible benefits. Given these concerns, prospective users should seek explicit expectations, consider trial options or guarantees, and weigh diversifying their social activities beyond 222 before committing substantial time or money.
Don’t like it
I shouldn’t have to advertise to friends in order to utilize this app and its interface
App has changed
I used to have no issues being selected and put into compatible groups at first. Then suddenly I kept getting waitlisted, or I’d be paired with people that didn’t match my filters. Very disappointing as a person who paid for a membership. It seems foolish to keep paying to be a back up
Charges not refunded
I’ve had multiple times where I did not receive my refund. Look at your credit card statement closely.
222 Unabashedly Treats Certain People Like They’re “Lesser Quality”
Was told by 222 in November I’m guaranteed to attend one event a month. Tonight, they walked back on it, and rejected me for 3 in a row with none other scheduled, and lied when called out on it.
Doesn’t matter if you’ve attended 40 222 events. They will reject you. When called out on this, they said they pride themselves on creating “high quality experiences.” Which translates to those they reject as being “lesser quality.” So if you want an app to tell you that they don’t deem you worthy enough to attend their events, sign up for 222 today. :)

UNFAIR
Some of the guest just check in and never showed to the event it’s not fair to other people who’s not selected, especially me who shared the invite to do more activities.
Not working
Keep getting “something went wrong” when signing up
Not worth it
You need to be selected in order to attend events on here. The events are well curated and the groups are great. At the end of the events you rank your peers based on how much you enjoyed them. Unfortunately you must rank well enough in your ratings to be invited back to events. I’m trying to meet new people and instead I get a message saying I’ve been waitlisted. Paying money to be reminded you weren’t popular enough to be consistently selected is a harsh and uninviting experience. Maybe it’s just me and I really hope others don’t experience this on the app. Best of luck out there 🫶
Used to be great, now impossible to plan
I used to really enjoy this app, but lately the system has become extremely frustrating.
I’ve been consecutively waitlisted and wasn’t able to attend a single event this month. On previous occasions, I was only notified about an event just 2 hours before it started, which makes it almost impossible to plan ahead.
What felt especially frustrating this time was that after repeatedly being waitlisted and after receiving a message saying my $22 subscription fee would be refunded if I wasn’t selected again, my event was suddenly confirmed immediately after I sent a complaint.
The timing honestly felt suspicious and made it seem like the system only responded once I raised the issue. Between the repeated waitlisting and last-minute confirmations, it has become very difficult to trust the app or make plans around it.
This experience is much worse than how the app used to operate.

Not worth it if you have social skills
Got sucked in by an Instagram ad. Had to pay to have dinner with the most socially awkward people I’ve ever met in my life. Maybe it’s fun if you’re 22 but if you’re late 20s/30s and have social skills, just go to a bar lol. Also the restaurant they chose was very corporate with mediocre sysco food, wasn’t even a fun spot to check out.
Scam model
It is fun and I bet you can meet real friends through it. But this is nothing but a glorified scam. Influencers are literally paid to try to get you to hang out more and more.
get ready for a million texts
your options are for them to blow up your phone every day or not use the service at all. there is no option to reduce the frequency of texts, you can only mute invitations for 30 days or leave the imessage conversation. I left the conversation thinking I'd use the app to request invites when I wanted to, but they deactivated my entire account. I've met some people and had some cool experiences but this plus having to pay for some experiences on top of the monthly fee has left a bad taste in my mouth
The 222 Selection Process
I’m bringing my rating down from 5 stars down to 1 star due to the way this app handles the selection process for events. It is ridiculously bad how I’m paying for a monthly subscription fee and not being selected for 6 events in a row. The last event that I was selected in was in February
STAY AWAY - DYNAMIC PRICING
They charge you a monthly subscription fee that’s based on dynamic pricing that never changes. Someone will pay $30 less than you for a membership if they sign up when the demand is less.
Just feels scammy
Supper slow set up, dramatic for no reasons. Claims “sharing contacts” helps match you better hahah
expand to more cities?
Would be nice if I knew that 222 wasn’t available in Minneapolis, MN before going through the whole intro and questionnaire. It sounds like a great concept and I hope it expands to more cities at some point.
dynamic pricing is unethical
I find the dynamic pricing (charging me 22.22 a month, while charging those I referred 32.22 a month) very unethical and I disagree with this practice as it isn’t outlined in any materials when I refer people. I have enjoyed the people I have met HOWEVER they also don’t do a good job remembering to give you referral bonuses. So, use it to meet people but be wary of being taken advantage of by dynamic pricing.
Not for everyone. Dining-focused, not a general social connection app
I got it thinking it was a general social event curation app. It isn’t. Almost all of their events involve food. I have many food allergies and am kind of a picky eater. They provide several dietary preferences but not one for allergies. I also don’t have the money to eat out like that. I get it’s part of their “mission” but I’d recommend they broaden their focus and mission to social events in general, with dining being just one of several focuses. The UI is also a little clunky and awkward.
Still pending.
My application has been pending for a couple of months. Friends (female) I referred to have already had their applications approved. I get that they need to balance the male-female ratio. Events my friends add me as a +1; I get wait listed…. And so far, out of several I’ve only made it to one and there were just 3 of us. I have high hopes as they are curating these experiences but my experience so far has been pretty underwhelming.
Curation ineffective, half of group didnt show
If you had told me the goal of this app was too bring the most different ppl together, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it considering my “curated” group of which 3 out of 6 people didn’t show up. We could not have been more different and have less in common.
Fun, but not serious.
Was sent to a closed restaurant. We were sent a second itinerary and it was fun, but don’t expect miracles for your social life. Met people who’ve done it 30+ times and still haven’t made
serious connections because the app is not built on real life values. It optimizes for attendees, it seems.

app needs major work
Most frustrating app and service to try to use. The app endless loads and doesn’t give you the option to sign up for events. It forces you to sign up for text messages and you can’t attend events without being messaged every single day. If you cancel your subscription, even though you were charged for an entire month, you lose access to events for the rest of the mint even though you paid for the whole month in advance.
