Consumer service can fix issues, they tell you they will email you back and it can take weeks.

Tune the transactions logic
Since you are the Wave partner for EU customers, please put all the logic that handles any kind of transaction to one place. I expect to see all the transactions in single place and has single workflow. Add transaction splitting as well. I do not want to read a tons of your documentation: go here if your need to add expense, go there if it’s income, go to other place if it’s something else. For now the Zoho Books not attractive due it’s “Induslogic”. Just be simpler and think outside the box.
Can't import bank transactions in free version.
When I try to import bank transactions in the free version, it says bank feeds are disabled. I'm a solopreneur and this is essential. Looks like this app isn't for me.
Shady Company
If you choose this app. Be prepared to be ghosted if you choose to leave. They make it very hard to leave. On top of this they will continue to charge you. You will have to get an attorney involved to get them to do the right thing.
Ok software with abysmal support
Started using this software for my business about 4 months ago. Setup experience was mixed, but generally went ok. When I had a question, a request to support took about 3 days for a response, an additional week for a meaningful response and sometimes they were able to resolve my needs. When the connection to my bank accounts stopped working, all they could recommend was to delete the old accounts and relink. Unfortunately that simply led to duplication of transactions and still no resolution. Invoicing function is nice and more refined but if you want to do bookkeeping as well, this isn’t the software for you.
UPDATE (2024): In addition to the poor experience above, I’m now in a death-spiral trying to cancel the service. 3 emails, royal runaround and zero resolution.

The Mobile Site is better
Can’t access custom reports through app? Come on.
Confusing
Very limited on FREE as advertised. I would not recommend. I’ve deleted and moved on to something more “SIMPLE” friendly
Poor language & currency support
I am American living abroad running a business in the US. When I downloaded the app it didn’t respect my device language and set up my account based on my IP address: language of where I am-not my device.
It took me FOREVER to figure out how to change the language. When I finally figured that out, then I had a currency problem. When I tried to fix that it threw and error.
This is to say-if you’re an “edge case” for them, the language and currency settings are buggy and frustrating.

I'm logged into my company account but it looks like a new account with no customers or invoices.
Make sure you read what's really included
You can't even use the integrated inventory system without spending atleast $70 on top of the zoho books app fees. Its one thing if they told you that you'll be paying for 2 subscriptions just to use 1 app.

There is no rule function in the app and it often hangs up after correctly idetifying that some transactions match a rule. But it won’t let you actually save the transaction.
If you are on OS 18 they force the new OS 26 icon on you

It is not as easy to use as marketed
Good accounting app but few missing features
The app is making steady strides & improvement but few basic & important features are still missing in the app but available in web version:
1. No option to access charts of account and add new accounts as & when required.
2. No option to pass journal entries
3. No option to add cash, bank & credit card accounts & enter transactions related to these accounts. Only receipts & payments related to customer, vendor & expenses can be entered. Other transaction type like receipt of other income, local borrowing from a friend or anyone, Bank loan payments & miscellaneous entries can’t be added. 4. In report section “General Ledger or Account Statement” for any account that’s there in chart of accounts, is missing. If we want to pull out a ledger or account statement of a customer, vendor, or any asset, liability, capital, income & expenses item, its not possible in the app.
5. In report section: Sales Register or Sales book, purchase register or purchase book should be provided too. Category wise report is there in the app ( i.e. by items, customer, salesman & so on) but not these quoted reports.
6. In final accounts; Balance sheet, Profit & loss account & cash flow, it would be nice to have the details of transaction when we click on a particular account there, all the account items there, if were clickable, related transactions can be viewed there. For example if we view balance sheet, there is cash account under current assets. I should be able to click that cash account & it should show all the transactions entered there.
7. Provide us an option to customize the dashboard to include favourite account as watchlist & monitor on dashboard.
Hope zoho team will consider these & make a wholesome app rather than making us shuffle between app & web for different entries & functionalities..

Very limited
I’ve been using this product for a long time and love it from an accounting perspective. However the app experience leaves a lot to desire making it very time intensive and subpar when dealing with any business that does not deal in invoices.
