No longer opens
As others have stated, the app no longer opens as of the last update. The splash screen appears as a very blurry image and stays there no matter how long you wait.
Since they do not seem to care that the app is no longer working, it may be time to reclaim some backup space and delete this app from my devices.

Ads before weather
The app has so many ads it is almost unusable. Also AccuWeather lobbies to restrict the NWS from providing free (often times lifesaving) information. I was irritated by the constant ads so I looked up to see if others had same complaints and came across their efforts to limit the NWS. 👎👎👎

App Rarely loads
I’ve been in a few tough situations with Weather and without fail every time I need it the app just freezes up when you click on it a refresh the app click it on it again and then it freezes up again and it’s worth worthless. Do not download this. And definitely do not pay for it.
Used to be good
Never works. Always a glitch screen when I open it. Has been that way for months now. Got it to work once this week finally and thought it was fixed. Today it’s back to the glitch page.
It’s not working
Normally I love this app but 2 days ago it went dark and very blurry with a small bit of orange in the upper right corner. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it but nothing happens. I’ve tried the two finger swipe in and out to shrink or make bigger- again nothing happens. Very frustrating!
App stopped functioning normally
Every time I try to open it it’s just a grey screen, sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t. Also the amount of ads is ridiculous. Way too many lol. Cant even check the weather quickly, I am switching weather apps lol. To the weather channel app, way better.
Not accurate
I paid $30 for the app and it consistently gave inaccurate weather forecasting and made me login over and over plus telling me my login information was incorrect. I went back to the Weather Channel app.

Spam to upgrade my current subscription has become redicoulous. To the best of my knowledge I paid for a lifetime subscription and that’s what I expected. Now they are giving me less than the full lifetime subscription and want more money for the full subscription.
Opposite of improvement
It used to be the best weather app, easy to use. Whatever changes they made have been awful. Tough to navigate, ads everywhere, slow, takes forever to load.
Predatory Ads
This review is in direct response to an ad that someone at AccuWeather approved. I wish I could upload a photo - this ad was nothing more than a Phishing scam. When I clicked to view the hourly forecast I was pushed an ad, as I often am because I use the app with no subscription. A text box popped up on a green background that prompted immediate action, wanted me to click ok to be redirected to download something, using a scare tactic that my device was hacked.

They've filled this app up with so much unnecessary garbage that it won't even load 75% of the time. Can't even use it anymore

The App was great and my go to weather app but now it barely loads and now with the new update every good thing about the app is AD blocked unless you pay for a subscription

With the latest update, I have to click through three screens asking for location permissions to see any weather. That in spite of paying to remove ads. Useless and annoying. Nice job.
Full of ads - monthly subscription to get rid of them
50% of the time you’ll see an ad before you see the weather. Only way to get rid of them is to pay a monthly subscription fee.

Not at all accurate
Unlike what’s implied in the name, this app has its moments of not being accurate whatsoever
Never right
Weather.com is more accurate. Forecast of thunderstorms were visible on weather.com 3 hours in advance but AccuWeather still said it would be clear. This has happened multiple times.
Ruined their app
Used to have further future radar now it’s only an hour in advance, the ui overhaul a few months ago is still buggy and terrible you guys should kys

Radar feature often doesn’t work. When you do need it add pop up. Often apps that are borderline inappropriate for a weather app. With plenty of other options this one is not worth the hassle

Notify me once about a tornado watch is more than enough notifying me three times about the same damn tornado watch is ridiculous. Update your app.

Getting a major storms with the potential for strong tornadoes and hail in Minnesota and no alert, warning or anything for the storm. Woke up to hail no alert. The alert we did get is a slight chance of snow. This app has gone downhill and has been completely inaccurate for a long time.

You Ruined Your App
AccuWeather used to provide the more accurate forecasts, no the app won’t even property open. I think it’s trying to show me an ad that never loads, but all I get is a vaguely black screen.

Spam ads
The app takes a long time to start up and when it finally does the ads are the kind that tells you mobile is unprotected and tries to get you to download malware. Something surprising for AccuWeather . I quickly deleted it

Not accurate anymore
For years this app was pretty accurate with storms & local weather info. The last few months, it’s rarely accurate at all. Right now, it shows no storm around me, but half the state away. Outside my window, a strong storm is right over me. I don’t know what happened to or with this app, but nothing is reliable or accurate anymore. Settings are on “precise” and I’ve updated & reinstalled/downloaded more than once. It’s just not a good app for knowing weather anymore.
Not Working Today
The app on iPhone is not working. It flashes on and off. I am unable to add a city or basically do anything. I have uninstalled abc reinstalled. It still flashes in and out.
Inaccurate snowfall predictions
It's suspicious how often this app minimizes snowfall predictions. Someone who works here is obviously trying to minimize snowfall predictions for their own benefit instead of putting everyone's safety first. The language used in this app to describe the weather is so unprofessional, the reports sound like they were written by someone who was never trained in meteorology
Stopped working
Really liked this app until yesterday when it quit working. Deleted the app, why have an app that no longer works. Went to the App Store this morning and reinstalled the app, but it still won’t open. I paid for a one year subscription to an app that doesn’t work

Opening the app and being immediately bombarded by full screen ads just to check the temperature is crazy. I’d understand if it was after browsing, checking an article, etc. but immediate? Why am I using this app if I can’t even conveniently check the temperature? I could literally google it quicker at this point. Unfortunate.

As soon as I try to clarify things in the end, update the settings, your app decides it wants me to upgrade! Or try a new app for 30 days for free… 45 days for free… Free, cancellation, anytime!

Ads means don’t trust.
Too many ads. It’s a weather app, not a market to sell products/services. Stop trusting apps/websites with ads. Remember like 20 years ago, when a website had ads it meant to never trust it.

Honestly probably the worst most inaccurate weather app you can get on the App Store. Rarely is it correct. Get MyRadar instead

I have repeatedly ran into false forecasts. It is so bad that today, 4/14-2026, it showed four minutes of rain from 6-7 pm. Now 10:20 pm it is still raining nonstop, leading to flood warnings. This is not the only time I have run into false forecasts. Either correct your algorithm or stop using this so called Artificial Intelligence. Artificial is the same as fake, think Christmas tree.
Declining fast - ads are now predatory
The app has become increasingly aggressive with upsells, and the UX has degraded noticeably. Mandatory ad completion is now frequently required before accessing forecasts. Today was the breaking point: an ad displayed a fake virus warning targeting iPhone users - and when I tapped the close button, it redirected me to the App Store anyway. That’s not an ad network problem they overlooked. That’s a malicious redirect that never should have passed any review process.
I’m switching apps. Would not recommend. All statements are based upon my personal opinion and my personal experience.

Weather NOT accurate
We are under a storm watch right now and the hourly says nothing is coming. I don’t need to see radar from almost two hours ago when I play the radar. And the full page ads are unacceptable, when you need to see the weather in a severe situation every second counts. Maybe care more about people than profit? Just a suggestion.
