The advertised discounts often weren’t better than prices on other booking sites, and extra or hidden fees increased the final cost. In some cases, these fees weren’t clearly disclosed until check-in. Overall, it made traveling more stressful than it should have been.

Bad review
Agoda cancelled a lot of my hotel bookings and flight bookings but never return my money. Whenever I ask for the refund, they reply it will take 6 months but never refund my money, it’s more than 50000 baht.

No option to change after booking
Once you booked via this app. You will not be able to make any change request (e.g., change from double bed to 2 twins). The agents always blame it on the hotels.
Worst booking site
I had an emergency and had to cancel my trip I requested a cancellation and it was immediately denied because the hotel declined it. I called the hotel and they confirmed they would refund it, I reached out to Agoda and they said they would “look into it” never did and when I called the next day it was denied even though the hotel said they would approve it.
Bank confirmed payment, Agoda claimed unpaid
I booked flights through Agoda and paid by QR code. My bank confirmed the payment was processed and deducted from my account, but Agoda claimed payment was not made.
I provided booking IDs, QR payment proof, bank debit screenshots, and support/chat records. I spent more than 5 hours trying to resolve this through Agoda’s automated systems, LINE support, website support, and email.
LINE support rejected the booking because it only supports hotels, not flights. Website support routed me through bots before I could submit documents. Agoda then said the case may take 3-5 working days to review.
Because Agoda failed to verify the bank-confirmed payment in time, I had to book replacement flights elsewhere.
Be very careful using QR payment for Agoda flight bookings. Save every screenshot and bank confirmation.

Doesn’t work with VPN.
The app almost ALWAYS chokes when I have a VPN engaged. Thus, I refuse to use it because I won’t sacrifice my privacy. Agoda, international travelers NEED VPNs. It’s not negotiable. I’m not connecting to hotel wi-fi without VPN. Fix this or get ready to lose customers.
Edit: Agoda’s “developer response” is classic. They completely ignore what I wrote and replied with only the most generic text. This demonstrates exactly what is wrong with them. No attention to detail and absolutely the worst customer service. I’ll be booking directly with hotels from now on. All of these booking services are scams, but Agoda is truly the bottom of the barrel.

В итоге служба поддержки Agoda тянула время несколько дней. А когда я уже приехала на место, мне заявили, что «партнеры отклонили бесплатную отмену». К сожалению, это ложь. Отель подтвердил, что не имел никаких возражений, и это решение принималось исключительно со стороны платформы Agoda.
Повторное бронирование произошло по вине технического сбоя приложения, которое настойчиво предлагало забронировать уже занятые мною даты и скрыло активный заказ.
Мне очень жаль, что пришлось столкнуться с таким отношением. Раньше я пользовалась этим сервисом, и он казался мне вполне неплохим. Но после этой ситуации я удаляю приложение и больше никогда к нему не вернусь.
А для путешественников из России дополнительно отмечу: к нам полноценно вернулся Booking, так что больше нет никакого смысла искать ему замену и рисковать своими финансами.

Scammed for years!
Update 6/10/26: Got scammed again… this time the stay listed was check out at 12 AM NOT PM. It’s NOT an overnight stay. Guess what happened when I arrived late at night to check in…
Update 3/9: getting nonstop online ads. Forgot to mention I logged in years ago and found my account was taken over by Chinese criminals who replaced all of my account personal data with fake Chinese phone numbers, etc.
Agoda scammed my family 3 times last month already by overcharging us double/triple room rates in Vietnam and several times in past years. Most recently they offered “complimentary 1 night” “agreed with the hotel” and then charged us claiming we need to pay the difference for the room rate “upgrade.” Because rates are low, they literally hire FAKE hotel “staff” to ABUSE YOU CONSTANTLY in your hotel room - besides SCREAMING at you, stealing your property, thinking of every way they can give you FAKE bills - and not once or twice, consistently with EVERY AGODA BOOKING.
It’s gotten so bad that it’s the ONLY option available for booking hotels online e.g. booking.com doesn’t even work anymore (BUGS!!!)… really shady company, nonexistent customer service (same since years ago). They call users “AgodaVIP” members meaning Very Poor Singapore service. PLUS, cashback rewards are a SCAM to STEAL YOUR DEBIT CARD!!! They don’t actually give cashback at all (HUNDREDS of dollars MISSING from SINGapore)!!!!

Cheated me out of a discount, only AI customer service
I saw an ad for a hotel, and Agoda was one of the booking agents available. I registered on their site and was offered a 7% discount on the first booking. So I made my first booking and paid for it and no 7% discount was included in the price details which I was not able to see until after the booking was complete. I reached out to the customer service and discovered that it’s only AI customer service, you cannot talk to a real person. Of course the AI was totally unhelpful. I tried twice to resolve it with them to no effect. The reservation is nonrefundable and non-cancelable. So since I wasn’t able to resolve it with their AI customer service, and I feel like I was cheated by them, providing me an offer that they did not honor, I am leaving them a one star review and warning others to avoid using this site

I made a reservation. I paid the full amount. After a short time, I received a cancellation. The money has left the account, there is no room. Cheap company with an office in Hong Kong to use your money $$$!!!
Deceptive Properties
I was looking specifically for a hotel room with a bathtub in it that had jets. I scrolled past several rooms that advertised “shower/bathtub combo,” “bathtub,” and chose a room with a “whirlpool bathtub” advertised. Google “Whirlpool bathtub.” That’s a reasonable expectation of what it is. They have jets. Upon arrival - the same day as booking - there was a small shower/bathtub combo in the room - definitely no jets. I only wanted the room to soak in hot water with jets. I asked the front desk, and the hotel had no “whirlpool bathtubs.” I immediately checked out and left. I contacted Agoda and they told me I was out of luck. I screen recorded the whole purchase. I sent them proof that I was deceived. They still refused to refund my money. Terrible company. They are not on your side.

Agoda app did non refundable booking and cancel the hotel by it self
I booked a stay at AYANA Komodo through online travel platforms and became confused by what appeared to be duplicate reservations. I contacted Agoda and later told them I wanted to keep the Agoda booking and not cancel it. I subsequently received notices that the booking was cancelled and was charged under the non-refundable policy. I was unable to obtain a resolution I felt was fair. I think they scam me to double or triple sell that room with different people at the end I’m not trusting any more this platform

Avoid this app like the plague. Every other listing is a scam and when you get scammed Agoda does nothing for you. They actually left me stranded in Los Angeles after one of their listings was fake. They kept the money and actually left me stranded…try Hotels.com instead.

I arrived at the hotel only to discover that they had no record of my paid and confirmed Agoda booking. I contacted Agoda support immediately, but after waiting for hours and being transferred between multiple agents, nobody could provide a solution.
Instead of helping a customer who was standing at the reception late at night with nowhere to stay, Agoda kept asking me to wait another 5-10 minutes, then another 5-10 minutes, and eventually told me they needed up to 72 hours to hear back from their supplier. My check-in time had already passed, and it was after midnight.
After more than 3 hours of waiting, I was forced to find and pay for another hotel myself. Only afterward did Agoda admit that the property was fully booked and could not honor my reservation.
A booking platform should guarantee confirmed and paid reservations or immediately provide alternative accommodation when something goes wrong. Agoda did neither. They left me stranded at night and showed little concern about where I would sleep.

I am extremely disappointed with Agoda. I traveled 850 km with my family to JAZ Grand Marsa based on a confirmed reservation, only to spend nearly 8 hours waiting at the hotel reception because of a booking issue. Eventually, I was asked to cancel the reservation and find alternative accommodation during a public holiday when hotel prices had skyrocketed. I lost valuable vacation time, incurred significant additional expenses, and experienced unnecessary stress after a long journey. As a Platinum customer, I expected much better support and a fair resolution. Unfortunately, the compensation offered does not come close to covering the losses I suffered. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Agoda.

I booked a Vietnam Airlines flight from Taipei, Taiwan to Vietnam for May 30. The airline changed the flight date to May 29, but Agoda never notified me about this important change. The app still showed my flight as May 30, so I trusted the information in the app.
Because of Agoda’s failure to update and notify customers properly, I missed my flight completely and lost both time and money.
This is extremely irresponsible for a travel booking platform. Flight schedule changes are critical information, and customers should be informed immediately.

Terrible app terrible service
Just do not use the app. They will not be flexible with bookings nor cancellations. Find the hotels/flights that are convenient for you then use their respective websites to get better rates and more flexibility. Trust me, you will be thankful.
Avoid! False advertising and platform errors led to major issues.
I had a terrible experience with Agoda. Their platform allowed me to book a bungalow for 3 adults, even though the hotel only accommodates 1. When I provided screenshots proving their system error, they refused to take responsibility and hid behind 'non-refundable' policies. It took days of constant back-and-forth and direct intervention with the hotel to get them to acknowledge their mistake. They prioritize their policies over platform accuracy, even when they are the ones at fault. Be very careful-their search results cannot be trusted, and their customer service will fight to keep your money even when their own system malfunctions. I will never use this app again.
SCAM - do not book trips through this app!
To make an extremely long horror story short, I thought I found a great deal for Atlantic City, NJ’s “Ocean Resort Casino.” I ignored my gut that this app looked fishy because I wanted to surprise my fiancé for his 50th birthday and it was short notice. When I called the hotel directly to confirm I was set, they saw the confirmation number. But NONE of my information matched me. I gave my name, last four of the card I used, mobile number, and none of that information matched. I contacted Agoda and they assured me that it takes up to 48 hours for everything to go over. I called back a week before the trip and they still confirmed no identifying information I gave matched the confirmation number I had. I had Ocean put a flag on the confirmation number and when I tried to contact Agoda to cancel, they claimed it was after hours and the “third party” THEY used to book would get back to me in 48 hours after I told them I needed an immediate resolution since the trip was so close. Everything is overseas. They lead you on to think you’re dealing with them but it’s really a “third party.” They claim they are not officiated through Expedia, but that’s what Ocean showed as the third party. Lies all around. I called my credit card company and they handled the charge for me, thank God. But stay FAR AWAY from this company because they claimed they would cancel for me and they still to this day never cancelled. I found out when I got to the hotel I had two confirmation numbers (I’m aware that makes no sense since Ocean claimed my name was not associated with that first confirmation number…but that’s a whole separate review about Ocean). STAY FAR AWAY FROM AGODA.

Agoda booked through another third party and then claims they can’t contact the actual hotel directly because they booked through and intermediary. Just insane, wasted so much time with them.
They do not honor price match guarantee
Warning, if you book something with them and then provide the proof of a lower price elsewhere they will not honor it. Provided multiple screen shots of booking on another travel site for 20% less than what they charged me and was told it doesn’t meet their requirements even though everything is identical between the two bookings. If you’re going to make things up to not honor price matching then just don’t claim that you price match. Completely unethical
Customer Service Nightmare
Booked a hotel, checked in and room was 82 degrees Fahrenheit, spoke to front desk was told no other rooms available and was given a number for Agoda to contact for full refund. Contacted Agoda and was told “no refund agreement could be reached, but they would offer an $11 inconvenience credit” Room cost me over $500 that Agoda refused to work on to get refunded. CHOOSE A BETTER BOOKING AGENT THAT PROTECTS ITS CUSTOMERS! WILL NEVER USE THIS APP AGAIN!

Sale un poco más barato que en algunas otras apps pero siempre te ponen la peor habitación, he reservado 5 habitaciones en una semanas y todas son al lado del ascensor, al lado del los AC o alguna historia. Y confirmado por la gente del propio hotel son las habitaciones que dejan para este tipo de reservas. Además de no ser nada transparentes con las facturas ya que no informas si el alojamiento tiene un costo a parte por alguna razón! Terrible la comunicación con atención al cliente. Osea fatal !
Not helpful if need changes to booking
Used agoda twice and both times disappointed. If you need to seek help to change with your confirmed booking, they do not help at all or tries to make you pay for the changes. Only use Agoda if you are 100% sure of your booking. Learnt from my lessons not to choose Agoda because it is cheaper.
Bad customer service
I booked a hotel through Agoda, and the booking confirmation showed a resort fee of $7.29. However, when I checked in, the actual resort fee was $60 for three nights - over 8 times higher than advertised!

Very Bad Service
Hello brothers and sisters I just want to share my little story here i was in Uzbekistan and on 2 May i was going from Tashkent to Samarkand i have booked the room in hotel when i arrived after 6 hours in Car i go to the hotel and they say we are fully booked and the was laying and i try to contact Agoda and there was no answer it last nothing happened and i ask to return My money to book another place and they say we will return after 30 days and even that I receive my money but there is 30 $ Missing From the full Amount please be Careful It's a sophisticated scam; they hold the money for a month and then refund you less than the original amount. I warned you based on my experience with them, but it's up to you.

Just got a booking, AGODA said everything is fine. Go out to the property and can’t find checkin anywhere. Try to message the property and try to call the property but the app wasn’t working properly, finally get ahold of the property manager, some Russian chick with a what’s app number tha was listed on the page. She tells me we don’t do booking for less than a month and she’ll approve a refund, but I have to request it. Call AGODA cause I can’t cancel through the app. Wait on the phone for like 40 mins just to have them tell me well we can’t contact the property owner, and you have to wait. Ok but what am I supposed to do about the money spent, and the room that I got for two nights that never should have been made available to book in the first place. This is north first time I’ve had this problem with AGODA. False ads, false rooms, false bookings. Just go with Priceline maybe.
Deceiving
I booked a room using Agoda for $56 per night as soon as I contacted customer service to confirm my reservation that was paid for I was told they would be collecting a $200 deposit and an additional $56 cleaning fee not including what I had just paid

I was not expecting $256 on top of the room the website states no refunds however they are not transparent and they failed to post the additional fees. They refuse to refund me my money despite me calling them immediately I would never book with that site again. I even reached out to the actual hotel staff, they also refused to refund the money for a place I never stayed due to hidden fees that are not described on the page. Agoda itinerary
Agoda's bundle system booked me into a hotel for May 7 even though the flight they sold me landed May 8. I was charged a no-show fee for a room I was physically on a plane for. Now I'm stranded in Tokyo, Please fix this.
No refund possible
I accidentally booked a room on the wrong date, tried to change date forward 1 day. I immediately tried to change it,impossible to change, cancel, or anything. Customer service no help. Got your money and heck with me. Most likely will delete app unless I can straighten it out.
Rip off
The company is dishonest and I lost $1000. I strongly encourage any potential customer to not use Agoda
Buggy
Several bugs impair an otherwise useful app on iPad. Messages from properties flash up for ½ second to the right of the list of messages, then disappear, making it impossible to see what the property is requesting, or reply to them. When doing reviews, loading photos always fails. Doesn’t matter what format or size the images. They always produce a ‘failed to load’ message. The only workaround for messages is to use the iPhone app, as the website also isn’t working properly. A company as big as Agoda should do better.
Misleading prices
Consistently lists misleading prices. When you click on the room it’ll say sorry the room is sold out.
Poor customer service
I am currently waiting 8 days for a resolution to a room charge. Also, Agoda will not resolve this type of issue if property combats or disagrees. Always take pictures as Agoda is not customer supportive or customer supportive. Ai primary communication with app and the most difficult ability to resolve issues. Pretty much impossible.
Zero help if you have an issue
Booked a hotel and within 5 minutes I knew the bed was hard as a rock and I didn’t want to stay there. All they do is just blame the hotel and the hotel just blames the them and you’re stuck in the middle and can’t do anything about it. Book a hotel directly and do not use them.

Good and annoying at once
This is the best place to find rooms in the region and there’s a good system. However, this time I was booking and repeatedly at the payment the app said the room was booked and cancelled my process. That is so frustrating. Fix this

Fkin useless app they sold over seats and didnt get plane ticket for 2 days and still processing.They have no responsibility
Terrible
Got charged $549 by Agoda then the hotel because they had no record of my reservation. That was my first time using Agoda. The second time they charged me taxes on the reservation only to find out I owed another $39 in taxes when I checked out from the hotel!
