Chatbot is completely broken
The chatbot doesn’t create service requests and also prevents from creating new ones. I’m unable to get any help from abroad, completely useless app. Also they overcharged me for nothing and now there’s no way for me to call them without spending 700 more, thanks to the broken chatbot (not sure why they’re using old tech when genai is literally everywhere)

Absolutely terrible experience with the Airtel Thanks App. I already have WiFi, and every time I simply try to check my current plan or explore available options, it triggers endless spam calls from their team. It feels like you can’t even browse casually without being harassed.
What’s worse is that they proceed as if you’ve shown interest and even initiate new fiber connection bookings without proper consent. This is extremely frustrating and invasive. A basic app meant for convenience has turned into a tool for aggressive marketing.

Bad user support
You have to improve the app very better, its not giving the answers, I am trying to view plans for wifi + TV, every time I land on the wifi page its asking for Address once I provide the address its going to the confirmation page that our executive will visit your location, but I haven’t selected any plan yet how can the app confirms the request. And there is no option to mail customer support, and chat is another worst feature, I feel like we should listen what chat bot wants to say, chat bot wont listen what we have the query about. Considering all these I am switching to another provider for my home. I feel like its a loss to Airtel only. If you dont improve you might have to lose many customers like this. I hope you improve soon, i will be checking this again after 6months and see if this improves and if I am able to select plan then I may think of.

I tried converting from postpaid to prepaid. The in-app chat was completely useless. It could not handle a basic request like plan conversion. Calling customer service did not help either. They refused to process it over the phone and told me to visit a store.
I am in the U.S., so I had to send my brother to the store. And here is where it gets absurd. The store insisted on sharing the Airtel Thanks login OTP just to process the conversion. Why does a retail store need the login OTP for an app account to convert a plan? That defeats the entire purpose of OTP-based security.
To make matters worse, auto-payment had already been disrupted due to “server upgrades,” and inconsistent charges were being applied. I was effectively forced into completing the conversion just to stop the billing mess, and had to share the OTP because the system left no alternative.
An app that handles billing and plan changes without password control, without proper session management, and that forces OTP sharing at a physical store is not secure. It is poorly designed.
This is not just inconvenient. It is irresponsible.
I don’t recommend Airtel to anyone. If you are moving outside and keeping your India number, please cover it to prepaid and to some another operator.

Airtel gives a bad name to Corporations. They are a bunch of petty thugs. I live overseas and to keep my Airtel mobile number operational, I keep feeding my prepaid recharge money periodically to these deep wells of greed. Never a protest that my account has been deactivated or anything of the sort. So when I land in India, the only time I need this clown company, as sure as nightfall, the SIM never works. They keep taking my recharge money but deactivate the SIM! So there is the rigmarole again each time with providing passport and other documents to reactivate and of course money must be paid just for that privilege. I kept participating in that dance of money grabs. This time around, the Airtel branch characters around Kalighat in Kolkata danced to the same rehearsed tune. This time though it got more rogue. The only option, one guy I was not even talking to, arrives from the side and dictates that I must convert to their favorite postpaid system of control of the short hairs. The upshot being that when I go back to my home overseas, I will be under contract to pay the bandicoots some Rs. 850 every month, thanks for nothing! I got up and hissed out you know what curse under my breath. It is easy enough to abandon Airtel, good riddance to bad rubbish and get a second Jio SIM - a new one.

I bought a new phone and tried to transfer my eSIM over. I've also recharged roaming worth Rs.2400. For some reason eSIM didn't transfer correctly and I cannot make voice calls. My settings are now all messed up. I contacted their roaming service over 20+ times and they repeatedly give me the same scripted answer, so frustrating! Never consider their roaming service, absolutely pathetic customer service and unhelpful. I can’t even pursue getting a refund because they make it difficult for you to make that request through their chatbots that keep repeating the same garbage of options.

I’m abroad for work . I’ve recharged roaming worth 4000Rs. To continue service for my financial app. And recently I’ve bought new device and transfer my all data to new device and unfortunately eSIM didn’t transfer and eventually my financial app doesn’t verify my account because of I couldn’t add otp. I tried to explain to customer care for more tha week and every time they just replied that I need to visit store . Even after I told them I couldn’t come . But same reply from customer care . I wish I couldn’t buy Airtel
Poor service and poor app
They make it really difficult to set up and access basic services like safe custody, and half the time the payment options do not even work. The store agents are also poorly trained, barely understand the system, and are unmotivated and lazy. All in all a terrible company that is coasting on its market share.

I just upgraded and recharged my sim and now am unable to make or receive calls. When I contacted airtel to get the issue fixed, all I got was prerecorded prompt system and no live person. On top of it I was informed that my complaint has been registered and will be resolved by 15th July- 15 days from now. By that time I will leave India and have no use of airtel.

I’m unable to check my balance and do transactions through Airtel app. Throwing error saying apps needs to be updated but there is no new version to update. And my app is up to date. App team need to fix this issue. Seeing error started after March 25 2025.

Airtel thanks is one of the worst app experiences that I’ve ever faced. Not sure why you guys provide features that don’t work properly, especially the esim part. I’ve been trying to transfer my esim from one device to another and the app is not even detecting my current number as Airtel. Guys please either fix the issues or don’t provide the features which you can’t handle

Dead slow and doesn’t load most of the pages. For example Upgrade to ESIM having pathetic experience. I have been trying from quite few months but nothing works. It says try with Airtel number though its Airtel number has been from several years.

Made a credit card bill payment using airtel thanks app, and the transaction is in progress state for almost 24hrs and to submit help on this issue, i am not able to raise query on thanks app. Very Poor experience.

All this app relies on is a mobile number. If you have it, you are good to go. If you don’t, well then you are on your own. Really bad UX. Idk how stupid the developers can be while coding all the user journeys. I get it you want to make the mobile number as primary identifier. Did you not think about cases where mobile number is unreachable or got lost and stuff? This big of a company but I swear I have seen college kids make a better application
No way to raise a complaint
You have made raising a complaint impossible on your app. Your stupid chatbot is not able to solve anything and closes any request raised without solving. HTH am I supposed to raise a complaint? ai want to talk to a human! Not a worthless chatbot!
