This app started so amazing for its purpose, I’ve had it for at least two years.
But recently it’s been absolutely horrible. Not only crashing more, but the added limits on downloads in a downloading app makes me want to delete it every time I see the message. Daily was one thing, but only having so many downloads per month and the number being abysmally low is frustrating to say the absolute least. It’s like being bullied into spending money on something that is supposed to be free. It’s disgusting. I don’t think I’ll be using this app much anymore. It’ll be annoying having to adjust, but that’s better than being forced to deal with greed and incompetence.

No Sound on Downloads
This app has been very useful for many years but as of recently, whenever a video I download is saved to the app, there is no audio at all. Not sure why this happened out of nowhere but should be fixed soon.

Too many paywalls to use basic features. I’m moving to another app.

That is just pure greed. There wasn’t a limit for years and now all of a sudden it causes problems which doesnt even make sense. Disappointing. Not dropping a dime for that.

Since you start limiting downloads there is no option for using the browser unless I subscribe. No one time payment either
Was great-not anymore
After the most recent update, the app freezes CONSTANTLY. It’s incredibly frustrating. The only way to unfreeze is to close the app and reopen it. Picture in picture also isn’t working right anymore. YouTube for example-when I’ve got just audio playing in ambient mode, I unlock my phone and no picture. The sound continues but the PIP window is black. So until this is all fixed, assuming it is, I’ll stop using Aloha. Very disappointing.

NOT FREE TO USE
This app used to be amazing but slowly they have taken away more and more features and listing them as “premium.” The same features that used to be free. Now they are adding the ability to download a video as a “premium” feature when it has been free for a very long time. And it’s not a cheap fee either. If you want to charge me $9 a month to download a couple videos here and there then I’ll see you later. I’ll find something else to use that doesn’t price gouge for a feature that should be free that had been free for years!

App promised to give above and beyond experience along with vpn (useless), and it is very hard to offload from the phone. Would not recommend, great disappointment!

Video playback sucks
If I knew upgrading would remove features I would have kept the old format of this app. The playback features don’t work half the time. When in full video mode, the swiping up and down features that allow control of volume and brightness; and swiping left and right to scan playback faster. Why would they remove functionality and call it improvement. Completely removes this app as my default video experience. Attempting to use these features just ends up closing the video. And then the features just randomly start working and then stopping. Infuriating. Never had this problem before

Background downloads don’t work anymore
It used to have a cool little bar that would pop up in the island to let you I owit was downloading in the background and if you closed your phone, it would give you a little blip to remind you.
None of those functions work now. I have premium. Doesn’t matter.

Garbage
This app sucks. I don’t even feel like going into detail, it just sucks this trash is the best option for iPhone in terms of downloads. But boy this app is terrible.

Repeated Staggered and Resetting Downloads
I pay for the premium subscription. It downloads well but then after a few downloads it starts to stagger them and then reset them. Example: it can stagger download through 438gb, then it resets to 267gb and it will repeat this multiple times causing a few second download to be a 30-45 minute download. I pay for premium I should not have to deal with this.

They drastically cut download speeds on the free version of this app to justify charging $5 for a premium version. Pure greed. I’m switching to another app that has faster speeds and background downloads

Every time I open the app, it keeps asking me if I want to pay for premium. It was not like this before, and I did not sign up for nonstop ads shoved in my face. Theres no way to revert back to the previous version either.

Keeps getting worse
Why did you guys remove the swipe to scrub function? It was so intuitive and easy to scrub through a video with that function and now it’s gone. Also please revert that and the slider options to increase brightness and volume.

Slowly getting worse
There never was never a download limit when I first started using Aloha, now there is. Download speed use to be decent, now they are atrocious. I get reminded weekly to buy premium. I’d probably buy premium if it were a one time purchase, but reoccurring is a definite no go.

Literally the only reason to use this app over brave was the video downloads which is limited to a few a day so back to brave we go.
Features don’t even work
Adblock doesn’t block ads. App Redirect blocker doesn’t block app redirects. Popups aren’t blocked. What am I even paying for? Can’t even add manual entries into the password manager.

I used to be able to download any video I wanted to. Now I can download but it has no sound. Like what’s a video without sound? Please fix this.

The UI has somehow gotten worse than before. Anytime I try to google something, I have to close the app with the tab open then reopen just to interact with anything
Good things don't last forever
Recent update disabled gesture controls......ruined the app that was great for viewing media. Sadly a good 10 year run has now come to end. Thanks for a good decade Epic App Failure.............
70% Failure Rate for Video Downloads
I’m sure their new screen record feature is much better at this but unless you want to pay for the discounted subscription at $80/year or whatever discount they feel like giving you, you can only screen record for a minute. Also without the subscription you get I think ten free downloads a day but it ends up only being like three because about 70% of the videos have their audio and video out of sync and it progressively gets worse the longer you watch. ~$80/year is a lot of money for a feature that barely works. Oh and forget about trying to download any videos longer than about 30 minutes. If it’s about an hour or longer the failure rate jumps to 100%. The audio and video will always be out of sync. Again though, that new screen record feature probably fixes that problem, and they probably know that’s basically the only way to reliably download videos from the web on iOS and that’s why they only let the free users access a very handicapped version of the screen recorder. If you’re looking for a free browser or even a paid browser to download web videos, this works sometimes. If you want a convenient screen recorder that only records the video that’s playing, you can pay about $80 a year for that feature on this free app. Only thing that sucks is you’ll have to let the whole video play out to record it all. It’s like recording movies on vhs tapes from tv from back in the day

Thanks for the boilerplate response. I’ve just experienced a 100% failure rate for the video downloads. I have experienced this before but they’ve yet to fix this. I think this is unfair to the paid users that you make them pay for a broken feature just for the privilege to experience unlimited messed up downloads. If anything this makes the problem worse because then everyone has to download the same thing several times if not twenty times in a row just to get the audio and video in sync. Decent browser, but terrible download feature. Asking $60-$100 a year for a broken feature is sort of abhorrent but expected in today’s capitalistic society. Who cares if this app does what y’all say it does as long as y’all get paid right?

I’ve been using it for a long while and I can’t get the ad blocking to work. I’m searching for a new app unfortunately
VPN issues
For the last 3 weeks the VPN has been disconnecting on its own. This happens on any website and regardless is downloading or not. No longer a good experience if I have to keep checking if it is on or not.
