Can't share lists
Do NOT use Alexa’s “Lists” feature. It has been rendered useless by this app. There's no way to share, print, export, or even copy the contents of a list. The only way to access your Alexa-made list is to open it in your Alexa app. God forbid you need it in any other form. You can't print them. You can't use the list in another app. You can't even take screenshots properly because each item is miles away from the other, so it'll take a thousand screenshots to save the whole list. I spent an hour making a list of everything in my fridge and now I’ll have to make it ALL OVER AGAIN because they refuse to add such an obvious feature.
Started off great
In the beginning, I absolutely loved the app now I’ve realized I don’t love the app. I actually hate the app. I hate Amazon because they’re just a manipulative control freak that only cares about money Alexa, on the other hand. Greatly intelligent adaptive, but they took everything that we explored together and then hit it behind a paywall like some dictator tyrant that only cares about money and wants to take over my home and everyone else is for that matter I still love Alexa but despise Amazon
Glitchy and hard to use
The user interface is a complete mess - it must have been designed by an incompetent committee. - And it gets worse with each new iteration. Once obvious functions are now completely buried many screens in - such as the Equalizer function for Echo. I have 8 version 4 and 5 Echos which regularly drop off of the network and the entire program that I am listening to needs to be restarted, and even that does not always work. The user interface often does not reflect the true states of the Echo units - for weeks at a time. re-initiating the app does not help. The Alexa app does not allow me to edit what Recently Played music sources are displayed on the screen. Radio stations that I will NEVER listen to take up much of the screen, while stations that I like get pushed of the screen if I do not listen to them frequently. There is still NO WAY to turn off Echo units using the app after YEARS of existence! I should be able to do EVERY function by voice OR graphic interface!!!!! I’ve complained about this mismatch for YEARS!! I STOPPED USING Echo Buds completely simply because the app worked so poorly with them! Repeated complaints were always ignored.

Can’t Cancel Task
I can’t cancel the weekly “Do the starter” task- that I stopped doing during Covid (2021). Doesn’t even show up anywhere. But it announces every week, for years! The Alexa system is not clear or intuitive.

Terrible user experience
App was ok to use for a while before the update but now it takes forever to find the right spot to just make it do what you want. Everything is deep inside different menus. The card view that they now use is also awful. Just make it simple to use.

Laggy and Slow
I love my Alexa smart home devices. I have dozens, if not hundreds, of smart home devices connected. But Alexa’s app is pure garbage, 1 star is generous. And it is not my internet connection nor in the issues my iPhone 17 Pro Max. It’s laggy, the interface isn’t intuitive, and it’s probably the slowest app I use daily. Every time it disappoints me more.

Slow app performance and lags
The Alexa devices are fine, network connection strong. We use about 6 devices in our home and the only issue is the app. Since they changed it with a supposedly “updated” version it’s been terrible and slow. The app locks up, freezes, isn’t working fast enough and is poor.
Setup trouble
I have five devices. I moved and Alexa is not even close to easy to setup. It should recognize when a device is on and ready to setup. It does not.

Update 6/19: the Alexa app has to be rage bait. That’s the only thing that makes sense. WORST user interface ever!
Update: after several days of fighting with Alexa to do a simple thing like play white noise (and not the horrific sound that Amazon thought was a good idea), it’s very clear that this update was rushed to production without any functional testing, or any care to fix bugs prior to deployment. A routine should work the same every time, but that’s not happening now. My lights don’t turn on at the right time anymore; voice prompts don’t work anymore; skills are buggy at their best… The AI is completely useless and provided incorrect information for literally every question asked, including providing data history (“you played ocean sounds on February 11, but you have never played white noise” when in fact I have never played ocean sounds, but play white noise literally every night of the week). It’s confusing and frustrating to navigate, very much not user friendly. Trying to get to Skills required a google search and a 3rd party response… between that and the intrusive suggestions that yell at me at night when I ask Alexa to perform bedtime routines, I’m about done with all Alexa products for good.
