They took away the volume button.

Most of the time it doesn’t work or I’ll only be able to change the volume and that’s it. Tv also will randomly cut off. My phone won’t connect unless the tv is hardwired.

my fingers slip literally twice a day so this app is the bane of my existence and causes me more frustration than anything on planet Earth

It’s a FAIL
First, it has to connect every time you use it. So if you don’t use it for an hour it has to try and connect again. Which is very annoying. The remote is set up awful. There no return bottom. If there is I can’t find it anywhere. I feel like they tried to be fancy when simple is so much better. It’s a fail.
It’s unreliable
So my remote is lost and every time I use this app it’s out of sync and slow so it’s very unreliable worse app
Cuts out too often
Cuts out too often and then ridiculously difficult to get it working again, even when internet connection is “good” or “very good”
Useless now
Previously you could control your fire tv without signing in if you lost your remote. Apparently no longer the case.
Will not let me sign into my account
The app keeps telling me my Amazon password is wrong and won’t let me sign in. It keeps asking me to sign in using a QR passkey using a DIFFERENT DEVICE which also isn’t working. Very disappointing as my remote broke and don’t have anything to use for the moment besides an app. Will have to try to find something different.
New update broke the app
Changing the volume now pauses playback and sends you to the home screen. Randomly get sent home for no reason as well.

Make it make sense why Prime Video sometimes get so weird about WiFi ? I mean the whole fire stick thingy is connected to the WiFi , make it make sense!?

Signing in
It stupid that the new fire stick remote you have to sign in every time you use it makes it hard for children to use it on your phone because they always have to bring phone for you to sign in
somehow got worse
both my fire tv and this app have always been buggy. now me, my roommate, or our friend can get the damn app to actually let us push buttons aside from a couple. completely useless as of right now. other reviews are having the same problem fix your stupid app.

I have multiple Apple products and if I try to have multiple Amazon fire TV remote apps working at the same time, it does not work. It kicks me out of one or another of my Apple products. So your product sucks cause I can’t use it on multiple products.
Always Sign In
I have to sign in every time I need to use the remote. This is extremely inconvenient compared to the original version where I just needed to sync to my tv.

Need to log in every time using the app, which is an unfixed bug. The thought of needing an account to use your remote is kind of insane.
It used to work but now doesn’t.
A few months ago, I used this and it had no problems. But after a update, it stopped working and I can only press the volume and power button.

I'm unable to navigate or scroll through the content, rest works like volume, settings etc, but what's the use if you can't select or scroll through the contents

Update ruined my remote
Had the app working fine but some update got rid of my volume controls and now I hate using this. Probably going to get rid of my fire tv all together as it’s been more of a hassle then anything else.

Terrible to use. Makes you sign in every single time the app is opened. The so called “bug fix” just created more bugs and made the remote more sensitive when it worked fine before. I guess if a bug fix is designed to make the app way worse than it was, it did a fantastic job.

Was great, but something changed
It was a perfect one stop shop for a remote but something changed in the last couple weeks (that I’ve noticed) where when I open an app or start a video, if I use the volume too soon or too fast it will bump me back to the Home Screen. It is very… very annoying ):
4 digit code
How am I supposed to enter the 4 digit code it wants when the tv screen is on the profile selection screen. Makes a lot of sense. This happens weekly and then it’s a long annoying work around I’m not sure how this hasn’t been fixed yet
Recent update is trash
They recently had it figured out and I had no complaints about the app. HOWEVER, this recent version refuses to connect to any of my TV’s. For one of my tv’s I lost my remote, so now I’m fully unable to use that tv. Hope they change it back to the previous (almost flawless) version.
