Fatal IOS 17.x memory leak
Thought Kindle fixed it but I was wrong. The Fatal IOS 17.x memory leak is still there, only slower. By morning Kindle went from 395 MB to 592 MB of memory overnight with no usage. The last month I’ve bought several ebooks at B&N. Over the years I have purchased over $0,000 on Kindle ebooks. That has come to holt because of Kindle incompetent development. Your as bad as Amazon, you both leaves $$$ on the table. All Amazon has these says are cheap prices on cheap junk which the under 30 eat up in the wastefulness and fat making luxuries. And latest update periodically feezes. We had to put up with crashing Kindle for almost 10 years before it stopped.
-- I’ve signed out Kindle and deleted the app getting back over a half of gigabyte of memory for a 3.9 Mb ebook. Maybe for the last time. I’ll gladly pay more with Kindle’s competitor for their reliability and quality and not support in India!

Assistive reader
I don’t know why y’all changed it so that you’ve got to have the screen on to use the assistive reader now but it has made it to the point that I’m going to end up canceling my subscription because I’ve got to have my phone on a charge box all day because I listen to a book being read all day while I’m working and it’s destroying my battery life. Y’all need to make it so the phone can be off and still be able to have the assistive reader running
only works consistently if you pay amazon for books
continually comes up with ridiculous ways to make it harder to read books not purchased through amazon. I prefer to read books through my library via Libby

I get popups daily asking me if I’m enjoying kindle. I don’t enjoy being asked to review something, especially if I already have. So kindle will always get one star from me when a review is requested.
Keeps deleting my bookmarks
I have a number of recipe books through Kindle, i have multiple bookmarks in each book. But the app keeps deleting them. It has become so bad that i will not longer buy any books for the Kindle and am looking for another option for the ones i do have.
Everything is AI slop
Kindle used to be great, but Kindle Unlimited is just filled with awful AI-generated slop now. I wish they would add a feature that allowed me to limit books by publication date, so that I could avoid the AI era.
Greedy Company
I’m not buying any more digital versions. I want to be able to read books I’ve purchased anywhere, anytime. I live in a rural area. And sometimes I go camping where the signal isn’t great. And I’m not paying for any more services beyond “Prime”. And that’s only for free shipping because there’s limited shopping options where I live. I could go on. Basically Amazon as a whole is an awful, greedy company.
No updates?
There’s never an update for this app. No additional fonts, no additional features. They want you to buy a kindle tablet, but I get nerve pain from holding big devices so screw me, right?

Suspiciously crippled on iPads.
Not sure what Amazon’s game is here. They offer an iOS kindle reading app that is more limited than reading on a kindle. On an iPad margins are restricted, limited fonts etc.
Dictionary support is so poor
No English-Korean dictionary, downloading Enlgish dictionary keeps failing for 20 minutes, and... Bing translator? Come on.
Doesn’t match the iPad app
Doesn’t have all the features of the iPad app, and it really cripples the Mac experience compared to the iPad. It is especially frustrating to want to review the book blurb, page count etc. without going to Safari and looking up the book at Amazon’s store. This really needs to be fixed ASAP. The iPad’s features changed around 2 years ago, and so far, the Mac app hasn’t kept up.
Underdeveloped
They need to add the Kindle Store to the Kindle app.
